Re: City of Justice (Shotgungunshot/Pervy)
Bethany chuckled along with her cousin, already thinking of a way to try again some time later. "Hey, gotta make sure your 'poise' hasn't left you since the last time we met, and it seems it hasn't." While she wasn't particularly hungry, she did seem to get a bit curious once she saw how good EG found the chocolaty snack. "The travel was pretty easy. With how important my powers have been to parts of the Technology and Science division, they've been more allowing with me taking some of the faster jets. Plus, with them finally understanding arcanotech a little better, they don't NEED me to be around as much. Geez... Those chocolates really that good to you? I mean, I know you've got a sweet tooth, maybe it's just the whole 'American chocolate tastes different' but I've never found much THAT good." She joked with a chuckle, not taking one, but seeming a little more curious.
"You ever hear of 'Search n' Destroy'. A rogue AI that ended up inhabiting a powerful android? Apparently the AI could easily hop from device to device, as well as rewrite any programming that tried to keep it contained. What it COULDN'T handle was what I decided to call a 'Magic Firewall'. While it could rewrite all the electronic and technical components of the block, it couldn't deal with the magical element, as it had no way to actually affect magic." Bethany really didn't want to get into the more technical details from there, as even though she felt that Earl Grey might understand it, she didn't want to turn the conversation towards that rather dull road. "Maybe it is just jetlag or something, I'm just still a little on edge or something. Guess I really did need some time off to relax and unwind. I'm actually glad you haven't added anything to your tea though. THAT would feel more off than anything." She joked with a slightly apologetic smile, feeling a little silly to be so worried over some paranoid feelings she was getting. Even if something was up, she had Earl Grey with her, and she was rather capable herself, so if anything was actually dangerous, they'd both deal with it without any troubles.
As she took a look around the room, she still couldn't completely shake the idea that something was up with people's eyes... while she couldn't put her finger on exactly what it was, the eyes just seemed... different. Plus... everyone here was... a woman? The servers, the customers, they were all women and... oh was this... did Earl Grey bring her to a... was she... oh... Bethany's face would go a little red for a moment before she would look down a little apologetically at her cousin. "Was I... making you uncomfortable, EG? I'm so sorry, I think I really am losing it just a little bit... Thank goodness I'm here, cause I can't imagine how high strung I must seem already, imagine if I had stayed away even longer... Yeah, I'm up for taking a walk around, long as it's fine with you." She pushed the feeling of unease down for now, wanting to spend time with her cousin rather than walk around worrying about every little thing. "Any idea on some nice places to go?" The heroine asked, wanting to make up for her rudeness and have a good time with her friend rather than make her even more uncomfortable.
