Still, if the visibility of the generators is a problem for some, maybe adding the occasional lightning going from the generator to the boss would do the trick?
I'd say this, or make it have some kind of powering-up animation going to him before the fight starts. I figured the generators were just background fluff, since it kind of looked like I was in some kind of mad-science lab. And massive electrical thingies are a well-known feature of mad-science labs.

Maybe have the generators off initially, and when the fight starts, have them slowly pulse to life alongside his shield?

showing a trail of electricity flowing towards him from the generators will give a pretty good hint

Well personally i really don't see any problems with the shield of the Boss.
I mean it's kinda obvious isn't it?
-Fight on
-Bam! 1 Damage.... huh?
-1 dmg
-1 dmg
-1 dmg
-ok, there something fishy here... mmmh *looks around*
-oh! 2 shiny blue balls, maybe something happens when i shoot at them.
-oh! looks i can dmg them... DESTROY!!!
-boss shield down-> ok let the pwnage start!
And the pattern of his attacks were well made too.. not too hard and not too easy.

After all i enjoyed this demo a lot and i can't wait for the full version :D
Really nice work there Kyrieu

Mmm, I think it's fine as is.

A couple updates:
I got someone to do the voice of the main character.

I just have 2 more Cgs to do, one will be done today, and the other will be done tomorrow.

After that, all that's left is the ending. After I finish that, I'll release an updated demo with the 2 CGs that were missing from the first level, and I'm going to start the process of selling the game.

Wah..? For some reasons I thought the game was multiple months away from release! That's great news! Although that's just going to be make me even more impatient to see this than I was before :)

That is amazing to hear, I've enjoyed it thus far and im sure the full game will be well worth it. Im usually cheap when it comes this stuff unless I see a good deal of work put in.

As for the boss, its been said but I do agree it wasn't that hard. I died 3 times before I figured it out but with the amount of shooting and jumping eventually at some point (just like me) your gonna hit the generators regardless....now it only makes me wonder if anyone has yet to kill the boss without the generators being destroyed.

Re: Kurovadis Demo (Read the first post)

Has anyone suffered an issue with the game freezing up when they select the "new game" option?

I know that running games on Wine can be hit-or-miss sometimes, but I was able to play the previous demo without any problems. This one, however, just freezes up--no matter how long I leave the program open.

Too bad...I really loved the demo and would love to play this game.:(

Wow ur selling it already!!!
Thats awesome!!!!!

Cant wait to play it!

Also the generators shud be the same..it adds to the difficulty u kno..
When the player finally figures it out after his 25th try he would go all face-palm and be like,"Damn...THATS IT?!?!"

Anyway Kyerieru Good Luck with ur sales!! Hope u earn alot!

I have nearly killed him, got him around maybe 5% hp, but it took so long that i messed up the rythm and could not catch up and he killed me

Re: Kurovadis Demo (Read the first post)

I'm going to de-lurk for a moment and say that I've been following Kyrieru's progress on his blog for quite some time now. Having seen the demo, I've got to say that it's one of the best h-games I've seen developed.

I don't usually buy h-games. I could count the ones I have bought on one hand and would need to spend most of a day counting the ones I'e played.

I am a lurker, and a leech, and I will be buying this game. If you could, would you set up some sort of donation thing as well? I'd prefer the game be moderately priced, and I'd like to donate as well. Or, hell, make it like bandcamp and have a minimum price.

In closing I'd like to state for the record that you, Kyrieru, are awesome and have made something impressive. I've seen h-games that have a moderate amount of h with only okay gameplay. Kurovadis is not one of those.

Re: Kurovadis Demo (Read the first post)

The game is going to be $5 if you buy it from my blog with paypal, and $10-ish on DLsite (meaning I'd get 5$ out of each sale).

The price is based on the typical number of sales on DLsite for this type of game, and how much my monthly living expenses are.

The average action H game on DLsite tends to sell at least 500, and the high end can be anywhere from 1000-4000. In total, I need about $600-$700 per month for living expenses and things I need to pay off if I'm going to work on games full time.

So, at the minimum I'd be getting around 3 months to work on the next game. I could certainly make a game in that time, though it would be pretty down to the wire, and still rather simple (though better than Kurovadis). 1000 sales and up is my target, since it would give me the time I'd need to make something exceptional, rather than cutting corners like I did with Kurovadis, as well as a month or two of funds in case something happens.

I'll also accept donations, if anybody wants to pay a little extra for it in order to support the next game. Once I'm making higher quality games than Kurovadis, I may also come up with some perks to go along with making a donation, such as going into a random draw to have whatever enemy you want in the game, or other similar things.

Ooh, that's a really good idea. I wish I'd thought to suggest that.

Well, I figured either I hadn't leveled up enough, or else I didn't have a weapon that was effective against him. I thought it was like Megaman. You start out with just your buster, which does jack shit against the bosses, and then the next time you face them in Wily's castle, you have a weapon that works well against them. I mean, I took off half his HP a few times, so I figured I was losing because I was just getting careless and losing the rhythm of his attacks.

I thought the generators were part of the background and that I was too low level.
I just tried it after my vacation and it works now. I was doing so much damage to the boss I didnt focus on dodging enough and lost a little XP I'll buy it once its out but paypal is so annoying.

So....i didnt know there were generators either and i ended up putting like 15+ points into defense and the boss was dealing 1 damage to me

so i just put a turbo button on and normal attacked the boss to death faster than he could kill me

after reading all these post i feel like a retard now XD next time ill try to shoot the gigantic flashing orbs on my screen before i attempt to fight a boss that takes 2 dmg per shot lol

Blog update, game should be out within the week.
Also, he got laid off but is ready to make games full time.

Get your wallets ready folks, we need to support this guy if we want to see him make games in the log run.

I'll certainly be buying a copy. Your work deserves compensation

Quick question about buying from the blog. How exactly will that work? Will after paying through paypal we get a link for the download? Also if we bought the game previously will there be a way to redownload the game if something bad happened that would cause us to lose the data?
