Yes, everything including the dialogue is in English.

If you're seeing boxes, you probably don't have the Japanese RPGMaker XP RTP installed.

Nah, don't gave up.

We all went through a first time when we didn't understand a lot of what to do or how to do it.

Sorry if we make it sound like you ought to succes without trouble - that's human naute => we've been doing it for so long so we somewhat expect everyone to sucess easily.

If you really try to gave us info about what step, with screnshot you did, check up again the tutorials linked...
We're ready to help.

If worst came to worst, it's possible to upload an already patched version. But that's not the real point of how to apply a translating patch.

Take a nice night to rest, re read the tutorial and try again from the beginning.

did EXACTLY like your video and there is no text ! ( no boxes)
did you change the dll file? or remained with the RGSS104J.dll?
plus you put your pc on japanese local or left it english?

that is why im confused, everyone is saying i missed something BUT i did everything like it was written. i even did everything like the video said and still nothing.
maybe windows 10 doesn't have Japanese fonts? dont know what else to do...

I use windows 7. I have my system local set to japanese and inv installed japanese language files from windows update. Is this the first game you have tried playing? Does it work before you change anything? did you install all the japanese versions of RPG maker? Im sure they are in a sticky somewhere

i re changed it to english.
should i change it back to japanese? and if so i need to install the game from the beginning?

download and install the rtp files for all the versions. xp vx, vx ace, 2003, mv etc etc.

yes keep your locale on japan. you can have your language as english but system local japan always.

you don't need rpg maker at all- all you need is rtp(run time package) of rpg maker in witch game was made.
