if i remember correctly, the liqueur is used to eliminate the timer for item fusion and the candy is just used to give to girls for cutscenes.

For those who are not in the know: squirrel is kind of a trap feature. Don't feed her anything valuable unless you have a real excess of it. NEVER feed her premium stuff. Even on maximum tier, rewards are almost certain to be worse than what you gave.
I remember feeding her excess bottles and other consumables which were piling on after events, going up to silver tier. And yes, you can get all the cards from her even at this tier.
Your luck is legendary.

Focus is used for events like arena matches, tower encounters, and event bosses
Arena battle consumes 2 focus per battle
tower encounters consume either 1-3 focus depending on the encounter
event bosses consume either 1 focus for 1/6 of your total power or 6 focus for all your power

I said it in Aigis thread. There's literally nothing to do in PPS outside of events but spend your stamina to level. This game IS events. So let's hope the rate we'll be getting them will be at least somewhat close to DMM..

It's guaranteed to have "at least" 1 SR card in the random choices.

So, in order to get an SR card from exploring, you must:
1. Get the lick in the center to boost rarity
2. Pick the SR card (1/6 chance unless you pay to see the cards).
So my question to the others is:
Is it even worth it to just stay around each mission and grinding until you get one, or is it better to just keep advancing instead?
It seems like the chance of getting that SR card is very low...
Then again, it does seem like you have all the time in the world to do so

Yes. There's not much point in advancing a story, in general. SED required to battle bosses will go very high, very fast. Stamina required to advance, too. Staying low is generally better for new players, as you will be able to complete more daily quests this way with small stamina pool.

Kinda strange - Squirrel have given me Elixir №2 if i am not mistaken - but it's not in my inventory...

It's only worth it if you intend to do the missions for teasing people to get an extra 9000 coins. Those extra coins help a lot in the beginning, but it doesn't take long for them to become more or less useless.
Under the Completion Scheme option, there's a section that says "RELIVE your memories!", but it's not available yet. In the JP version, you could use the candy to unlock cutscenes with characters from events you'd missed, but there wasn't any other benefit to it. No new cards or anything.
