I just beat the game on normal, and man, sometimes the AI just hates you in the game! Ah well. I'll have to beat it on on Hard, and see if there are any differences to it.

alternatively is there a time cheat?

its not too hard. just have them chase you around the belts then when you get near a pit hug the wall and start running the opposite way.
most of the time they will run into you and onto the hole.

also roboko is the best character as she as she can just destroy anyone with her skill
