Re: Alansya Chronicles - Fleeting Iris [DEMO UPDATED 2017]
I have couple questions.
1. Will the game have couple of DLCs out soon after the completion of the game?
2. Will the future games be also VX Ace or become MV? Or no idea yet?
3. Hows life?
Sorry for being nosy but it would be awesome if you can answer them and hope the progress of the game goes smooth as possible.
1) Yes, immediately after the game is out, cleaned up and bug free we will start on DLC's.
They will be free, DLC just means "downloadable content", I know most people associate it to "pay us to have more stuff in your game" but we won't have any paid DLC's, EVER, this is me writing in stone, if you have the game the DLC's will be free, period.
The only reason we make DLC's and not instantly ship it with the game is, for instance and because it's the most debated topic, shota. If we shipped the shota with the game, a LOT of people instantly would be breaking the law by supporting it, downloading it or playing it, this way the users can filter what they want in their game or not and they are kinda signing a "I realize I'm breaking the law I'm downloading the DLC anyway". Keep in mind not all countries are against shota on cartoons, for instance, Portugal.
2) I won't say it absolutely won't come out on MV, I do say that it's unlikely, all our first 5 games will happen in Heaven City, we already worked a lot on future games, the transition to MV would be incredibly painful, the only reason I don't shun it completely is mobile support, because other than that I don't see a single reason to change to MV. Maybe on our 6th game, when MV advanced, there's more scripts, more assets, the engine isn't so clunky, etc.
3) Meh... Some hindrances here and there but overall great. How's yours?
I think you misunderstand me. I want to have option to AVOID this scene. Forcefully locking player on route is not nice idea, there should be always choice IMHO.
Your choice is to go into that route or not, you get 2 or 3 days on a route and then you have to make some judgement, some routes are seriously not interchangeable from a story point of view, IE Melvin and Clarke, because in Clarke's route:
If we don't lock you in 7/11 route then most of the route won't make sense, if you don't see that scene then there's no entry point on the 7/11 route, you can't just choose to ignore 10 scenes and say yes in the last one, that would make me write alternatives for all the choices you said yes and no and scenes you watched or not, I'd have to write two alternatives for 1 scene, 4 alternatives for 2 scenes (no-yes, yes-yes, yes-no, no-no), 12 alternatives for 3 scenes, and you see where I'm going with this.
That works on straightforward games like, let's say Magicka where there's no REAL story attached to the CG's, you can just be a slut or not, the only stat that matters is corruption, we actually have a cast and a plot here, we can't just do what you suggested in this game, some of our future games will work like that tho.
For me to allow you to avoid this scene I would probably either have to put you on a optional loop until you went and grab a drink with Sato OR just lock you out of the 7/11 route entirely and just make it a regular job or just find a way to get you fired. There kind of is a choice there, we just chose at times not to make it look like an obvious "choose" moment, but many things that you do now in the game will have an impact in the game later on. You could of never went back to the 7/11 after the interview, hell, in the future you won't even have to go to that interview.
