Re: Alansya Chronicles - Fleeting Iris [DEMO UPDATED 2017]

Well, since we are making suggestion how about adding ramdom events int he street witht he npcs? apart from the shouts out of course xD, just things that make heaven city feel more alive.

Another suggestion would be to include a save that skips the prologue and starts on the first day working for melvin (when she signs up and melvin checks her out), i have played many demos and the first days are always anoying, i think i know them by memory! xD
I think they are planning on adding more of those sorts of events, such as the one in the park. The art for each one would take a while though. Unless they decided to just reuse a template with slight visual differences and different text for random "grope" incidents?

I agree with the skip function, replaying those first few scenes are never my favorite. I normally try to carry my save over from the previous version.

I was not just talking about H-events, but something like having ayane walking the street 1 day and suddenly a weird guy appears says something like "quick grab this!" then goes away and soon enough a bunch of people in black suits pursuit him, and ayame is left like "WTF did just happen?", in that particular case she should give Robert the suitcase/thing.

Re: Alansya Chronicles - Fleeting Iris [DEMO UPDATED 2017]

This forum is for discussion, good or bad.

This game has good graphics.

This game has poorly made maps.

This game updates very slowly.

This game uses very generic settings for H-events.

This game has quite a few bugs and/or mechanics issues.

This game has a lot of grade school grammar errors and spelling mistakes.

This game also uses a special font that isn't packaged with the game so sometimes the words fall off the screen (bad planning on programmer's part).

This game -could- be something great. But for right now? It's a good way to kill a little time I guess, but it's nothing special an nowhere near close to being what it promised or close to being finished. But hey, at least the team is still working on the game, even if they make the same mistakes every update. That's better than some English developers that make a few months worth of cash and then abandon ship.

Wish there was a facepalm emoji in this forum. I'd love to see examples of those things you mentioned, the others are opinions but I'd love to see examples of these. Let's start with this one:

Hmmkay. Waiting for the others.

EDIT: OMG you're that guy that talks about the grammar mistakes every 3 pages since you brought it up and I said we don't need any more help. Like I previously said, we have a proofreader, we always proofread the last patch on the next patch to save time, I know my English is far from perfect but it's VERY FAR from being all that bad, so again, thank you, we're aware of that. It's the same thing every patch every month, it gets mildly annoying.

tbh he kinda has a point about the map thing. I get the idea of making the entire city that shows up over the course of however many games you're planning on making, but it doesn't really help the playability of this specific game

I must admit... there are some error's but.. We have to remember one thing....
Its a work in progress! its not done yet and properly far from it, yet they are working there butt's off to make the game fun for us. At least we can praise the good stuff then keep adding a list of stuff that need's doing.

Here il start
Really like the Graph in the game, it shows Dedication,
and I like that the group still works on it then falling off like most maker's do

Its Their game and story, we are just along for the ride ;)

Yeah, that would definitely not be your fault, it's completely natural for someone to spam random threads with unrelated bullshit.

Sorry, I had to react to this. But to not make a useless post, there's a thing I wanted to ask for quite a long time. The updates are patreon only, right? Does that mean the full game will not be free? Or will we get a free public release after it's done? I tried checking the front page and the patreon, but I can't find any clear answer, only stuff that implies it won't be free, but I'd rather ask and be sure.
Hey TheByQ, there's a specific reason for that, we haven't decided yet. Patreons will get it for "free", that much is a given, also, people who support us are supporting US, meaning that if you support us 6 years from now, you'll likely get EVERYTHING WE'VE DONE SO FAR, all the games, patches, DLC's, you're supporting Heaven Studios. If after that you want to purchase the game as a stand alone, it can be arranged I guess, but so far we haven't decided.

Story wise we're half way through, give or take a bit.

I will wait for full game and may consider buying it when its finished. When i played the last public version(0.78 or something) it was still pretty much a visual novel with lots of tedious walking as a questionable bonus. Just predetermined routes with no real gameplay elements like combat(which is undestandable), management, clothing system or minor events/quests.
I remember you said there are plans to add more free roam/sandbox style stuff, it would greatly improve the overall experience. Probably a lot of the existing CGs could be reused for that purpose.

That is why i reccomended ramdom weird events ocurring from time to time, and i mean really ramdom so each playthough is different, that would have the bonus of making the city appear more lively.

Re: Alansya Chronicles - Fleeting Iris [DEMO UPDATED 2017]

Adding my 2 cents..

-Graphics: Okayish, the tilesets are nice, though some parts make little sense (Japanese doors in an american house?) the city looks nice and realistic.

-Map and areas: horrible, tons of empty space, you should always strive to avoid empty spaces, I kinda guess you feel proud of having made such bigass areas and that you'll make use of it, but right now is frustrating, and more than 80% of the available area is unused. I recommend switching to a quick travel system (one that doesn't require you to spend half a minute walking in empty areas) to the areas with content, at least until you have things to do and roaming turns into a real option.

-Story: The weakest point, IMO, the map can be fixed quickly and will stop being an issue in time, but the plot is bland and requires a good deal of suspension of disbelief. Yeah, this is a porn game, and suspension of disbelief is mandatory, but some parts are VERY hard to swallow.

-Gameplay: zero, try to add some things to do other than going from event to event, at least if you want some replayability, instead of immediately advancing the plotlines, make her work, so her stats change slowly, she can buy things, mixing prerequisites (you need money for the vanilla ending, but to get money you need to work with the sleazebags, so you gotta watch out) would make the game more entertaining.

As a final point, I really dislike being threatened in the intro, would you like starting up any commercial game, in any platform, and the very first thing to see is an avatar of that company's CEO threatening with suing you if you copy the game?

Just some clarification, that is not "my avatar" he's a CIA agent, and he isn't "threatening", that's a joke with a meme of the movie "Taken".

Re: Alansya Chronicles - Fleeting Iris [DEMO UPDATED 2017]

Mmm, the idea of needing money for ending sounds interesting, although it should be more because there is something Ayane wants to buy (maybe for robert) so she wants to use her own money for it, and i don't see much "suspencion of disbelief" here, if anything sometimes the characters are too smart, there is even 1 moment 8can't remember when) where Ayane behaves in a way that seens like a "take that" to 90% of female characters in this games, something like "see if you stoped to think or used 2 neurones you wouldn't get raped silly" xD

So i had a few ideas to make it more rpg like, first i just want to say that this game, specially the vainilla route, has a severe disadvantage compared to the coming ones in the series, i mean the others have undercover spies doing a job, magic and zombies while ayane only has a married couple; so to make it more exciting i was thinking that the main route should consist of ayane "defeating" the baddies from the other routes, while the dialogue options are obvious and already present you should add that ayane needs to posses certain items or comply with certain conditions (like her morality lvl being high) and these conditions/items shouldn't be indicated (well maybe in a extremely easy mode or something) forcing the player to think wich items to buy, or even wich dialogue options to pick. Another thing the vainilla game should have is a little drama, like fixing Roberts relationship with his son, maybe making this be how his route is resolved in the true ending, personally i would find it hilaripous if at the end of the game Ayane is given the key to the city for putting so many crocks in jail, or helping to anyway.

Not that I'm complaining, because I'm actually looking forward to seeing the progress of this game, but wasn't version .76 supposed to be that last public release? Again, not that I'm complaining.

What was the old file name of a previousversion? I'm sure I had played before but I can't find my old save file.

Not entirely sure I understand the question, sorry :(

Try searching for Fleeting Iris or Ayame's Adventure or something?

Oh shit, please someone tell me the bad news on the last patreon update isn't about someone dying/getting sick or just plain leaving the project!
