I had the same problem, had better luck purchasing from DMM. Link is on 3d-lotus' website.

Not 100% sure I trust the site overly much, but if you are desperate enough, you might try there.

EDIT: thank you! that seemed to work! its DLing now. i've played a bunch of their card games on DMM. they were a reputable site.

yes, you need to use your DMM account instead.

Incidentally DMM wouldn't let me purchase this game months ago when I tried repeatedly, kept giving me nonsensical error messages about authentication.

So I occasionally like to pretend when I'm playing Skunk 4 that sometimes I'm raping DMM's site manager.

So, could use a bit of help I guess. I decided to buy the game, downloaded it and all that, but I can't play it. Whenever I launch a error pops up

"Property not found #text" followed by japanese characters.

I've tried re-downloading it but that doesn't help. If it's important, it was English dlsite where I downloaded the game. I'd like to be able to play the game I bought, especially one that wasn't necessarily cheap.

I bought it as well and experienced the same thing. I believe the property not found error is saying there are files missing. I don't know how, because sometimes the game works fine and sometimes I get the error. This is what I've found that makes it work properly (with a full disclaimer this could all just be coincidence that it works after doing it like this):

When you extract it, just extract it into the same folder the download is and move it later.

Make sure the extraction ends normally and Windows doesn't tell you there may have been an error installing. That happened to me a couple times and broke things.

Always run it through startup.exe, never run skunk4.115.exe.

That seemed to get it to work for me. One hell of a glitchy game, though. Kinda regret spending money on something so easily broken that also doesn't support different resolutions or multiple monitors, but that's what you get when you buy porn, I guess.

You need to run it through the "Start Up" file, rather than the game's actual executable. It's because it's "DRM Protected," and the Start Up is what allows you to enter your account information that you bought it with (for me, it was my DLSite account/password) to get the game to fully unlock and be played.

Sounds like the usual routine. Game developer uses DRM. It ruins the experience for their paying customers. Pirates will still break through eventually, but customers will reject them in the future. Learning from the past is hard.

It ruins the experience how? All I have to do is click on one icon instead of the other to make it work. This way, at least the creator will get a few more sales from people who don't want to wait for someone else to crack it. It's a lot better of a game than the vast majority of stuff that gets released, and it's only $20. That's less than a large premium pizza, and the game will last you longer.

Three months? The original release date was May. But I'm glad the translation wasn't forgotten about.

What's the translation like? It was pretty good in the previous games.

Unfortunately that didn't work for me. I'm still getting the same error. I suppose I should have known better and just kept to finding other downloads. I'll keep trying, maybe there is something else I can do to make it work.

The game's folder has instructions on installations and what to do if you're having errors. As long as you meet its requirements and have a valid account, it should work.

As for the translation, it feels rushed, and isn't as good as the one in Skunk III. Lack of proper formatting (for example, the in the text it doesn't have proper spacing and colons between the name of the person saying the dialogue and the dialogue itself), and grammatical mistakes are all over the place. Also, as of this posting, the conversation had with the NPC male at the table in one of the camps comes up in Japanese, rather than English.

Moving around is a bit of a pain in the ass, as you can't use the keyboard to move, or use the mouse to rotate and manipulate the camera like most MMOs and 3rd-Person Action games.

Still, I enjoyed the game a lot, and the scenes are pretty good. I think it was worth the money.

Also for those having the cant find property error when using startup.exe, turn off your antivirus or add exception.

Heres how to find all the items.
1. Just as you start go right behind the boat. Select smile.
2. On the main road. Select smile.
3. Left of the main road behind the tree. Select threaten.
4. In a chest on the right side of the road behind the cart.
5. In a chest straight after the previous one.
6. Check the pot in camp.
1st FIGHT, then go through the gate
7. On the right side of the road behind some rocks. Select watch.
8. In a chest on the left side of the road pass the bridge.
9. In the cave after opening the door. Select smile.
10. In a chest behind the altar in the cave.
2nd FIGHT, then exit cave.
11. Check the pot in camp.
12. In a chest behind the pot.
13. Fat guy next to the pot. Select threaten.
14. After exiting the camp, in a chest on the left side of the road.
15. After entering the town, check the meat grill.
16. Behind the grill, in a chest.
17. Talk to the guy sitting at the table.
18. Guy hiding behind a cart pass the table. Select watch.
19. Behind the lighthouse. Select smile.
3rd FIGHT
20. After lighthouse sinks there is a chest.
21. After beating the final boss.
