Yes, that is correct.

It's supposedly a revival of the "Save the Witch" event that introduced Chloris, so they might use the same unmodified maps with the only caveat being that we only have 2 days to farm them rather than the usual 7 days.

Map 1: Witch's Assault (CHA: 20 STA: 2)
Drops: Calliope, Daniella, Clave
Gimmick: Healers cannot be deployed.

Map 2: Witch's Counterattack (CHA: 25 STA: 2)
Drops: Calliope, Valerie, Chloris
Gimmick: Healers cannot be deployed.

Map 3: Witch's Hideaway (CHA: 30 STA: 3)
Drops: Calliope, Mischa, Cecily

Map 4: Witch's Banquet (CHA: 35 STA: 3)
Drops: Chloris, Lean, Calliope

As expected, class changing my Soma (she is now 50cc25) was enough to gain three stars on sixth mission.
Daniella class-changed into a sniper, and fed a couple copies of herself, Mortimer, or Clave would be enough to kill the dark elf avenger with her skill activated.

Soma is less useful except for certain meta situations where her increased range actually does more than allow her to get one early shot before the timer expires due to its short duration...

Personally, I find it a little annoying that the 3 mission complete reward for this event is a silver elf soldier, and they suddenly introduce Katy now of all times. It's like how the Gold Rush event gave out Strey and Vera, and the ultimate reward was the platinum archer Spica...

You forgot Soma-chan's all too important morale boost and idol charm.
The following is me being serious:
And I am not kidding! Only reason I could stand rural gate farm is Soma 9 cost + Cecily 4 cost for 3 second afk.

Katy gets "援軍要請Ⅲ" (Reinforcement Request III) after her class-change just like Julian and Aria (15 sortie points per activation).
It is impossible to get cost reduction for Katy without time fairy. Hence, compared to Julian possibility to get cost reduction sooner or later, and Aria's broken opness, Katy lost the in reinforcement department.
OTOH, she is the best soldier in this game to be promoted into a mini-battle master.

I saw 5 but all make use of some black unit -.-

While Black Unit skill activation are mostly unique, without skill activation they are just very strong units and replaceable by something with lower level/rarity.

Of course, it will also make your life noticeably harder, since stats does make a difference. Sometimes, you just aren't strong enough for the map and you should concentrating on leveling up/class changing your unit.

Sorry to ask for clarification - have you observed this property on Avenger as well, or perhaps this is a trait of dark elf casters only?
It appears to be a trait of all dark elf units archers and the avengers as well it's less noticeable with avengers cause of there massive HP pool but they definitely take less damage from magic it's kinda like the slimes from the pirate missions a bit back there units you need non magic range against to be brought down easily.

I mean you can use magic but overall you'll need a heck of a lot more time effort and attention to bring down the same unit you could just drop an archer with a bit of backup to handle.

Did it using the video Petite posted, using HA's to stall them. Actually I messed up one side, but my ranged units were strong enough to deal with her after I dropped my Prince, having white Karma didn't hurt :p I used two un cc'd soldiers in the middle near the exit instead of the CC'd soldier and HA that guy used and it worked fine. The one difference that was really important: Make sure your 2nd healer (The one on the right side of the map) has some wicked defense or they'll die to archers. I failed once trying that, switched her with the dragon shaman healer and all was good.



Last map is probably easier than that one, I failed it earlier just because I was a split second off from retreating a unit and it got one shot. Having an enemy unit that suddenly can one shot almost any unit at a certain point when you can't tell exactly how much hp she has left is a bit cruel. Well I can finish it easily tomorrow.

You don't even really need mages there, as people have said, archers seem to deal with the boss very well. You mostly just want some witches to slow them down so your archers can rip them up. It could be that she has high magic defense or that she just has no defense and very high HP, in which case, mages actually have lower single target dps than archers because of their slow attack speed.

Waited to long to retreat Yurina on the top right (where your valk is).... payback time in 4 hours :p

Wow, I had unbelievably good luck on my 6 trips to Spirit Rescue Mid-tier today. Drops of note:
1 Rainbow Fairy (my first rainbow drop)
1 Black Fairy
3 Platinum Fairies

I have a total of 6 black fairies taking up space (part of the reason I went for Immortal Princess Karma was to have a unit to feed them to in case they start to build up too much). I still don't know what I should do with my 2 rainbow fairies, since I still have more silver dragonkin units for Hina and Adelle. I don't really use Echidna and Dahlia's skills, so the only unit in my party that really sticks out right now is Spica (though she would need at least 3 rainbow fairies and a lot of luck to get her skill to 4/5). For now, I'll save them until I summon a black unit someday.

In any case, I'm free to do a few Low Cost Battle runs and then let my stamina regenerate for tomorrow. My Ninja Master Hina can now do 526 damage with her skill activated, so I'm hoping she'll prove to be useful for the upcoming maps.

Speaking of which, does the upper-left image in this group of screenshots appear when you get Katy?
If not, then I didn't imagine her introductory scene, and JohnDoe just skipped over it between videos. Someone really should make a habit of recording these things for posterity.

EDIT:
This guy completely owned Ailanthus Defence Extreme with no class-changed units:

Though, it did take him 8 minutes to do the map, so it's not a strategy suitable for farming, but it goes to show how much the heavy armour trick trivialises the dark elf.

Finally I got a black fairy but I still can not get Black Units. XD

So, back to topic... Let's continue where we left off - there exist types of enemies that fly.

These airborne enemies cannot be blocked. Moreover, most close-combat type units cannot attack these enemies.

The only way to counter these is ranged units. Let us start the anti-flyer enemy training.

Enemy flyers do not follow the roads, so please be careful of their attack routes.

Please take note that ranged units' attacks can also hit standard walking units.

Some of the ranged units' attacks have additional effects, but we will go into those in the upcoming training sessions.


Mage quest

Mages are strong ranged units that use magic spells that have an area of effect. It is not an overstatement to say that they allow control over the flow of battle.

An ideal time to call upon the mages is during enemy rushes. Moreover, mages truly shine when deployed in combination with melee units. While melee units block the enemies, mages are able to dispatch multiple enemies at ease!

Now, Prince, let us start the training. Are you ready?

This time I will explain about Witches’ magic.

Witches magic attacks target a single enemy. However, their magic has the special trait of slowing down the enemies it hits.

For instance, in case of enemies with very high attack power that are too dangerous to fight using melee units can be slowed down by witches’ magic and picked off by other ranged attackers.

Witches’ attacks are also very effective against flyers and high defense enemies.

Witches’ slow effect is a very good counter-measure against flyers, as they cannot be blocked.

Seeing is believing, so let us take a look at the power of witches.

I think maybe it appeared when you first enter the new tutorial quests menu. Would someone be kind enough to translate that sentence?

As a mostly irrelevant piece of information - I have convinced my brother to start playing and when you start, you still get the 'old' tutorial missions (ie. first missions of story mode), as you unlock parts of menu. The new tutorial quests appear only later in the game (Maybe after you meet the goddess? He didn't get far yet).

Whoo all 3 stars, this is the first event I've completed 100% I think, awesome.

First run on fairy mission today got me a plat and black fairy, lols.

1: Plat, Black
2: Silver, Gold
3: Gold
4: Silver, Gold

Pretty nice, still have 12 crystals left, going to save those. Man I've cc'd almost everybody on my team now that needs CC'ing, short of my witches. 725 exp to get Monica CC'd too. I may actually finally have the time to CC Iris to replace Fluoride. I just wish I could get at least one copy of her first.

EDIT:
Completed all of the "Save the Witch" event maps. They were all pretty easy; I think the story mission "Armour of the Dead" (31 charisma) is more difficult than any of these maps.

Only got Clave and Daniella from "Witch's Assault", and Chloris from "Witch's Banquet". Still need more copies of Calliope to fix my main one, though if they bring back Belinda next week, then I should focus heavily on getting multiple copies of her, since it's possible to 2-star Great Magical War with just her and Calliope if you time things just right.

Yeah so far, first three maps are easy. Just have two CC'd archers and you're pretty much set. First two maps you can't use healers, that's the only thing that might throw you off.

I haven't done the 4th map yet, but so far these are extremely easy. I don't think even newer players would have a problem with these. Just only set units as needed and you should be fine, unless your default team lacks good balance. For people who aren't aware, I think the slimes are highly magical immune, but your archers or physical fighters will shred them to pieces.

I haven't done the 4th map yet, but so far these are extremely easy.
The only thing you have to watch out for on the 4th map is the White Baphomet, since that thing can deal 900 damage per strike. Don't get cocky and set your melee units in front of the cave; leave everything to your ranged units. =P

Yeh, I fell for the sudden white bapho. Everything is dying so fast, Misha on enemy entrance, fast forward ... bah. As soon as you see something white moving, recall the melee.

On my side, since I got the first multiple of a gold unit now, should I use them before CC, or should I 30CC all my copies of the gold witch, so I can get skill increases on my main 50CC'd one?

Just ended the event with a modification of that video. First one I can complete 100% :)


Keep them for after cc so u can level the rank 3 skill. If u feed them now the skill lvl will reset to 1 after cc her.

Sorry I didn't notice, Kurisa has 1.6k hp and 500 def.

Just ended the event with a modification of that video. First one I can complete 100%.
