Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

"Finally, Damn." Vance says, yanking the bubble-like helmet from his head and sighing "And no, I didn't hear the firefight. I like to turn off my comm when I feel I'm safe. Didn't expect an Ashotur to be alive. Sorry, I fowled up." he says, taking off the rest of the suit and walking into his own ship, only to reemerge with his coat on over his clothes that he had on under the suit "Lead the way, mister Viper"

Umbral points to the elevator at the far side of the hangar. "That will get you to Command. Sorry, but I've got to do some repairs to my own ship."

"Have fun" Vance says, stretching his arms and yawning "Boy, I needed that nap" he says, walking towards the elevator to Command "See ya. Here's hoping that there isn't another Ashotur in there" he says, entering the elevator and taking it up

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Umbral steps back into the Fang, and reviews what he'd managed to figure out before Vance's comm call. The phi-inverted lateral stabilizers on his sub-light engines were the only things that got fried during the earlier space battle. Minor, but critical enough that it caused his engines to shut down. Fortunately, he kept spares. The sensors just needed to have the main power conduits replaced. Again, minor, he had the spare parts. It was the main drive that was going to be the problem. Most of its components had fried. It would either need to be completely rebuilt, or just replaced.

First things first. Get the sensors and subs back online. With that thought, he got to work. After putting in a call using the Fang's comm. "If anyone needs me, I'm in my ship, busy fixing what I can."

"Copy that. Also, if it helps, if there's anything spare part wise that you can use and you find from my storage area on my ship, go ahead, just let me know later what you took so I can replace it."

Umbral gets stopped by Draven's call, right as he was about to head back to the engines. "I'll keep that in mind. Of course, if you've got a spare FTL in there, that might help greatly."

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

There is a LONG pause as Draven apparently is considering something. "Uh, that's a tall order, but I THINK there ought to be enough parts there to build one or two minus a power source for them there. Schematics too. Just make sure to follow the instructions to the letter, otherwise when you activate it there will be a fifty fifty chance you'll be vaporized when you open the window. Unfortunately, since it's supposed to be SPARE parts and a backup, it's not as efficient as my own, but it'll be better than nothing."

"Understood...Wait. Are those schematics in your own language?"

"They can be placed into English or any other known language if need be. You'll find a small device that looks a lot like an Earth computer mouse, place that on the schematic pad and click until it goes to a language you can read."

"Copy. I'm going to go get that, then get to work." With that Umbral goes over to The Deadly Mist, and finds the schematics first. With those in hand, and readable, he finds and gathers the parts, before heading back to the Fang, and getting to work on the repairs.

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

Vance arrives at the Hanger once again, a frown on his face "Bitch" he says angrily, his arms crossed as he walks over towards his ship and stops behind it "Dammit. Why can't I ever say something right!" he yells, punching and kicking the air, pretending it's a Bentari he's fighting "Bastard. If I can't kill a Bentari, then what good am I?" he asks himself, his movements slowly accelerating as his anger begins to gather, his body starting to perspire greatly as he pants heavily, his skin slowly turning red, from accelerated blood flow to his brain and limbs "I need to get stronger. Stronger than a Bentari. Stronger than even an Ashotur" he says, stopping as he looks at his body "Dammit. It's happening again. Damn you, dad." he says, looking around to make sure no one can hear him

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

((Sorry for double post))

Vance sighs as his skin slowly returns to normal color while he walks over towards Umbral's ship "Oi, Umbral, care to direct me to the elevator to Medical?" he says, knocking on the side of the ship with his left hand as he walked along the side of the ship

The bay doors on the top of the Fang open, and Umbral's voice comes out of it. "Stairway just outside of the hangar. One level up, then follow the red line. That'll get you to Medical." The bay doors can then be heard closing.

"Thanks" Vance says, sliding his hands into the pockets on his pants and smiling as he walks out of the hanger "Here's hoping our good Doctor can help me control it"

Thall enters the hangar through Door 1 and steps up to the Mako. "If this works, you're a hero", he whispers to himself.

Draven now enters the hangar, not more than several moments behind Thall.

"Ready to give this a crack Thall? Want to use your own language databases as a starting point first?"

The tone of voice suggests Draven believes that the Telarin language translators may be superior, mostly because the Ingrali are quick learners for languages, and rarely need to use the translators.

((He HAS shifted back to natural form during the hike from the Medical Bay to here, just as a HU.))

Thall turns and nods. "Sure thing. We're probably gonna have to establish a physical connection there. A cable. A bit old-fashioned, but the Mako's skin won't let us work any other way." The Telarin steps over to the Zeta and looks over his shoulder to Draven. "Follow me." He steps onto the ramp that leads up to the ship.

Draven nods, silently following the Telarin into the ship, his eyes taking in whatever he can see of the ship.

It is only after several minutes that he finally speaks. "If this works... It opens up a hell of a lot of options doesn't it?"

Re: Tarum III - Space Station The Dividing Line

The ship's interior is... curious. There is no seam visible, everything is out of the same dulled metal. And still - suddenly a part of the floor rises to elevate the two into the bridge. More of the same here: The pilot seats, the instrument panels and monitors curve out of the metal and back in again - like planned dents.
Yet as Thall sits down on one of the chairs parts of it give in like a cushion. "Of course. If we manage to create a cipher here it will allow the Alliance to investigate all the parts that we managed to salvage in the past."

Again a slow nod. "Here's to hoping for at least one breakthrough."

It's pretty evident though he's excited to have the chance to work on this, he is being careful not to get too high of hopes.
