Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

Only a couple weeks, that was when I finally picked up miss cleo and discovered the bug. And the roulette thing doesn't surprise me, I've been rolling copies of Ultima for ages whenever I do end up with a rare. It was just a money sink anyway, now they're just rubbing it in

Still never seen an Elfella.:(

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

Hmm... Maybe a browser/outdated version of flash issue? (this is a flash game right?) It's worked fine for me on Chrome.

Huh, so I'm not the only one who's eaten probably 50 Ultimaya's -.-

Am I reading that correctly that they are giving out 10 tickets if you clear 18-6? Do we have any idea how long they will be doing that?

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

Holy shit the SR valentine girl is so fucking strong, all my girls attack so much faster, girls like minamoto and oda attack right after their last attack. Elfeas just continuously shoot arrows while buffed, they shoot before the arrows hit

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

To everyone who's complaining about the increase in spin percentage, kindly shut up.

They did something good, so now you bitch at them? Take your entitlement and shove it elsewhere, they could have just left the percentage as was instead of increasing it. They don't owe you anything. They didn't screw anyone over, there was already an increase in the chance of getting a SR. And then they made it even better.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

I only encounter the bug when I deploy Valentine in that she slows down my Riders of Rohan Guan Yu swarms to a crawl. >_> So I think it's less your browser and more how that all-stat up skill works.

The 10 ticket reward I believe is permanent judging from tone. They'll let you know if it's only for this event.

And yes, sudden spike in forum activity over there appears to be strongly correlated with angry players. :p I think, personally, people have a right to be upset. It's a pretty common tactic over there to sharply decrease the droprates in secret (AIGIS being one of the best examples of this, looking at historical trends, so I think TTT might try the same) to force players to buy in last minute. The general wisdom when it comes to events on their forums seem to be "quickly do it before it gets nerfed". So you can imagine a lot of people spinning as soon as they can.

Then this happens. Now, I have nothing to say in this regard - personally I don't care, but I do feel bad for the 2-5 farmers and people who already threw money down on the event.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

Good thing I cleared those 15 hell stages earlier and saved up a few R tickets @_@

So far, hell stage 16 is pretty easy. It's like they never increase the difficulty for any x-1 to x-4 and the last 2 are the real test.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

They do owe people an explanation for this. People put money down on the game and then they raise the chance afterwards? That is a serious problem and terrible business strategy (If they you know, don't want to piss off their playerbase and lose players). You don't have to be a genius to know that that's going to cause problems and upset people.

It's an obvious money grab strategy, way too obvious. Geez they could have at least been quieter about it :p They're a business but they need to consider their playerbase too. I'm sure some people will leave from that.

Not really. Ten-tac is hardly their only source of income, and the amount of people that leave is likely going to be paltry compared to the amount of people that either just dump more money in now, or later in hopes of the percentage increasing even further.

I wasn't responding to you, I was responding to Starke and Rag's post. Sorry if there was any confusion.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

Good thing I waited till the end of the event to use the tickets I have been getting. kind of hand a feeling they would pull this stunt.

.....35 tickets and not a single SR.... on top of that most of the R's I got were on the low end.

Goodluck, I didn't get anything. More Tamaki's and Artiyuma's. That's all I ever get from SR wheel. Just imagining how much people have probably spent on that...ouch. There's a reason I don't gamble. I hope nobody here used up money on the earlier part of this event.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

Ultimaya and a Tamaki from my 10 ticket bonus spins. If it's a red card on a RR spin for me it's likely going to be Ult, if not, Tama.

As for the % increase.

This is either; some moron in the marketing department with absolutely no clue about their playerbase thought this would be a nice treat and got it implemented before someone with a functioning brain interceded or it's the same transparent money grab that many F2P's use.

Either way, the end results are the same.

One REALLY pissed off playerbase. I don't know how much it costs to do 10 spins on the RR wheel but I'm guessing it's not cheap. And we all know that there was a bunch of people with very little impulse control and too much disposable income who did, 50, 100 etc spins early on. One thing I've learned from playing various F2P games is that people will spend silly amounts of money for what I personally consider very little reason. They seem to enjoy it though :D (I had one guy I knew online who'd spent over 10k USD on Wartunes)

All of those people (who are primary supporters of the game) are going to feel cheated if they didn't get the SR girl.

If this was a money grab, they screwed themselves because from now on, people are going to wait to the last minute in hopes of getting a similar increase; if they even spend. It's hard to spend if you don't trust who you are giving your money to. If not, well, they are still screwed.

Not really a win-win situation since the only people that like this change are those who saved up and get the limited SR. Everyone else is just mad. (reasonable or not depending on your perspective, they ARE going to be mad and that's bad for the game long run)

You also have to consider that there's a good chance that many of the dmm players are playing multiple games.... Since the same company runs all of them, reducing spending on one because of distrust/anger.... Well, that carries over.

What I was thinking too, everybody is just going to wait until the last day or two to buy/spin now, and that means less impulse buying in the last hours/days of the event because you failed to get what you wanted at the start of the event.

All I can think is that either they seriously messed up, or maybe they were desperate for money for some reason? Who knows, either way I want to see how they respond to the forums, should be interesting, haha. It wouldn't do them too good to ignore people qqing on their forums. It just shocked me more than anything because they have been pretty good to the playerbase so far.

When there were problems with the Christmas event, they reintroduced it for a while. I mean that can just be seen as an easy way to get more money as well, but I'm trying to think positively of them here >.> The point is they at least want to make it seem like they care about their players, and this event surely ruffled feathers.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

Boring stuff:
Mm, while it's true that TTT itself isn't a huge source of revenue, you have to consider that the playerbase for these browser-based games are probably not very high and the people who are likely to be burned by this are their paying players. To my knowledge I don't think anyone here has paid so far, but again, if you were some of their posters who dropped hundreds of thousands of yen for Valentine only to find that drop rates are buffed midway through the game, I think it's definitely a case of buyer's remorse.

Compare the numbers registered on official forums (~6800) to that of AIGIS (~7100) to LoW (~78000) and a few of their other popular games (~60k-80k) respectively and I think you quickly get an idea of rough estimates of players. Personally, I estimate about 60-70k players for TTT (Kantai Collection has 150k players registered on the forums and a published figure of 1.5+ million players), most of whom are probably free-to-play - let's face it, you can get SR tickets from NR spins, and there's pretty much nothing else you could spend actual money on unless you're talking slot expansions.

From gossip on their forums people are guessing that the devs are pulling this move because their android sale didn't go as well as planned - that's the theory behind why the player appreciation event just ended recently as opposed to being over months ago.

Fruit, I've got two more characters that I think would fit your front page. (Actually, I'm tempted to write on the characters people don't use - Y-Poola, Kurogane, etc.) Neither characters are must-gets in the same way as Jean or Elfella, but having them (especially early) I think would make the transition into later stages/hell mode much, much easier. Both are very rare drops from stage, but somewhat common from NR.

Maia Mercurius: One of the best supporters in the game in my opinion. The change to movement and attack makes her stay at her range, which is a huge buff since you don't want her to be advancing. Cheap cost, decent cooldown. Damage is mediocre but is one of the few consistent sources of ranged pushback. A single copy is all that's necessary for you if you want pushback for breathing space. Because of her moderate range, she walls for your mid-ranged characters decently and it's very easy to have several of her on the field.

Her damage at level 40 is only 60, so a bit on the low end. She's not going to be a source of damage, but she'll let your midrange and long range go to town and preserve your frontline so they aren't eating blocks of enemy AoE.

Revoica: Damage, damage, damage. Squishy, not very fast, but delivers respectable damage (95 at L40 R+) that often turns into crits (which becomes hilarious with Valentine, Cleo, or any buffer character). Only R characters that deal more damage than her are either untested (Asmodeus), comparatively costly (Guan Yu, Hybrider), or have hilarious drawbacks (Kurogane's 119, I think, and attacks faster, but moves slower than molasses and randomly gets an attack down debuff).

Wizarda gets a buff with her but I think it's a waste of a slot. She does fine on her own, and can easily transition into R-fodder for hell stages. Her CD is low enough that multiple copies are unnecessary, which is another plus when comparing her to Y-Poola and Sarutobi, both of which become downright godly with enough of a CD.

Maia Mercurius:

Revoica:
Sounds about right with the rumors.

I actually like Maia Mercurious and use her on my team, but with her low attack, I wasn't sure I could recommend her. She's somewhat specialized and not as widely viable as some. I have nothing against Revoica, I just still haven't found her to personally test her yet. I've wanted her for so long and have run her stage for weeks now...blub. She seems amazing in theory and most you guys recommend her but it is my recommendations, I can't recommend a fighter I haven't tried, haha. Or well, I should say that I try not to do that, of course technically I could recommend her anyways, gotta watch the use of "can't". Lols.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

i'm logged in. i spin the one free daily spin. then i got

i never thought i'd be this lucky, for a free daily spin lol

the company seems to be so desperate with game's not producing enough moneys. last time they did decrease item costs and then android event. it's hard to get income from typical game like this since most people can get it the free way. i think if people wants to spent their money, they need to stop cheating the players as well drop rate aside the gacha seems to be quite hard to get some R nowadays
