Here is the demo for Episode II of Fan Fantasy!

I apologize for it taking so long, but it's here! In the demo version, you'll be able to explore the capital city of The World, and find some hidden H scenes. There's 6 in total. There are 4 just like in Fan Fantasy, all drawn by me, but two are something I'm just trying out for the demo. They're 3D scenes I made using Source Filmmaker. I included them because they're easy to make, and I was able to get some good models. I want to see what everyone thinks of them before putting some into the full game though. If you like them, let me know! If you don't like them, definitely let me know! Or just use the poll, either way. If more people like the 3D scenes, I'll include more in the full version, and in later episodes. Only if I can find high quality models though.

Anyway, as I've said before in previous threads and on my blog, Episode II is the largest Episode, so that's why it's taking the longest. I hope the demo tides you over until the full version. Feel free to check out my dev blog for info on Fan Fantasy and any other project I'm working on. Once the full version is complete, I'll update this thread.

Here's the download link. The file is pretty big, since it includes all of the assets from Episode I, and I haven't filtered out any unneeded assets yet. So, it may take a while to download.

Edit: Just to clarify, the 3D scenes won't replace the 2D scenes. They're just really quick and easy for me to make, so I thought I'd add them in and see what people thought. They'll always be separate from the rest of the game as well, since they don't count towards the already planned characters.

So i just finish the demo i found really nice, mmm about your 3D work, i refer your drawing work, but 3d it s nice too, if i had to choose i wich take drawing picture, and drawing from the demo, if i m remmeber good it s beter than the first episode...

in Fact now i just had to donate again in september like a membership =), i really want to play soon to episode II xD and not the demo,

I'm glad you liked the artwork more this time. I've learned a few new tricks, and I've gotten more practice. I hope to keep on improving, and making the artwork better.
Don't worry, the 3D scenes will never replace the drawn scenes. The 3D will just be extra scenes. They take me very little time to make, so I thought I'd throw them in there and see what people think.

I definitely wouldn't mind more 3d scenes being added into later releases. I believe that 3d scenes work better than 2d scenes in some instances.

You wouldn't use 3d for an anime character but for characters from video games (just like you've done for Lara and Elizabeth) and I'd say 3d is the only way to go.

Yeah, that was my plan. Just to use models for game characters I mean. I'll only do 3D if I can find a good model for them too, and I'll only do current gen characters. I think PS2 and before just aren't high enough quality. A lot of them don't even have poseable mouths, and that'd just look weird.
I'm not going to decide for sure if I'll be keeping them for at least a couple of weeks though. I'm making this decision completely based on the polls results, but judging on how it's going, 3D will be staying.
If they do stay, they won't be replacing any current scenes I have planned though. They'll all be completely separate from the "main" game.

Ok, this might be a stupid question, but how do you get into the Capital? I loaded my save and reached the Capital, but there's a guard blocking the entrance saying "Sorry, no leaving in the demo" when I'm trying to get into it for the first time and not reenter.

You're not supposed to load your old file.

Don't worry, you'll always be able to keep your file from episode to episode. Once all the episodes are released, it'll just be one big game. I'm just releasing in episodes because of how much content there is, and so I can get feedback to adjust and change anything that people don't like. It's also so that people don't have to wait a year or so for the entire game.
I'm just releasing Episode II differently than I did Episode I. Instead of releasing constant updates, I thought it'd be better to try out a demo version, so people could see some of the new areas and scenes, and then just go straight to the completed version. I can imagine it was kind of annoying, for some, having to constantly replay the game every time I changed/added something.

I like the 3D, but I'm more a 2D person myself. 3D does not brother me in the slightest though.

I'm busy working on it, so hopefully I'll get it out fairly quickly!

I'm the same way. I like 2D a lot more than 3D, but it's just so easy to make the 3D scenes. As I said on my blog, I'll be keeping the 3D, but all of the 3D scenes will be separate from the main game. So, I won't be replacing any 2D scenes with 3D scenes.

Here's the full excerpt from my blog about the 3D scenes:
"I was going to wait a little longer before deciding on whether or not 3D scenes were here to stay or not, but seeing how more than double the amount of people want 3D, over not, I'll be including them in the full game. I'll be adding at least two more for Episode II. I have enough models for another 16 scenes, but unless I find some more models, that will have to be all for all of the episodes combined. So, there will only be 3-4 3D scenes per game. Feel free to let me know if you find a model and would like it in the game. 3D scenes take almost no time, so I'll add in anything sent my way. As long as it's an existing character. Since it's Fan Fantasy, I don't want to be using original characters. Also, the model has to be for Source Filmmaker, since that's the program I use.
The 3D scenes will only exist "outside" of the main game, and will only be accessible in VIP rooms. I don't mind making 3D scenes for existing/planned characters, but they won't replace any of the CG. They will only be used for extra scenes found in the VIP room."

So the old man in one of the houses tells you to go bang his daughter in the ghetto. I spoke to literally every person in there and haven't found her. Is she in another part of town?
Also in the VIP room there appears to be a sprite you can't talk to on the bottom.

Quite the turn of events

Sorry about not posting for so long everyone.

My best friend suddenly passed away, and it hit me kind of hard. It really got me thinking about some things, and I've decided to stop making H games. Instead, I'm going to focus on my regular game project. I just decided that I didn't want to be known for H games, and honestly, there's no way I can really make money in the H game market anyway. It's way too overcrowded and there's entirely too much piracy.

My original plan, was to release a couple of H games and build up the funds to make my regular game. Instead, I'm going to just focus on developing my regular game, then put it up and kickstarter and see what happens.

This means that I'm stopping all production of H games, for now. I definitely won't be coming back to It's a Matter of Time, or making any new H game projects, but I may come back to Fan Fantasy in my spare time. I never wanted to be known as one of those people who randomly disappear, and there aren't that many people into the game, but I do want to at least finish Episode 2.

Anyway, that's all. Thanks for the support everyone, and I'm sorry.
