Mina, after having her lights punched out by your pony-tail-wearing 'friend', took a painkiller, is also having a snack, and will probably be good to go in a little while. Your pony-tail-wearing 'friend' made off with my rifle. Be so kind as to send out the helicopter with a replacement. Unless you happen to know where I can get it back from him. Over."

(I'm gonna assume nobody wants to swap out of the party.)

Another group near the aquarium claims to have found the boy, and the boy himself says he left your weapon in one of the trucks he took shelter in during his retreat from you, but he failed to mention which truck outside your current position. Go there, and retrieve your rifle."

"Joy. Now, since you say another group found him, I don't suppose you can tell us what's so all-fired important about that rat that's so urgent you couldn't so much as tell us his NAME before you sent us after him? Over!"

(...the only truck mentioned before is the one that Joseph was poking around in when we first talked with him (page 5). Did we see any other trucks whilst chasing Joseph with Aya's unwilling assistance?)

(There are several parked in a line outside that storage building you came across. He hid in one of them so that incase someone came looking for him again, he'd hear them opening the back doors, and have plenty of time to escape, or so he thought at the time.)

"... He's little more than a resource to most," she slowly began to reveal, hesitant to tell Melissa the whole truth, "That's why the enemy seeks him, to use his powers, similar to your own, for their gain. That is why he's better off either on our side, or dead."

"I'd suggest you seek your revenge for his dastardly actions another time, and focus on your current objective, and that's to scout the Zoo for any abnormalities of interest. You still have much ground to cover, I'm sure."

Melissa growls for a minute while she thinks the Director's words over, carefully not triggering the radio while she does so. Obviously she's not telling her everything. And that "ours or nobody's" mentality, while not unfamiliar, doesn't sit too well with Melissa. Even if she'd rather not see that idiot again.

"Fine... since you seem to know him, can you at least tell us his name? So that next time we meet him, I have something to call him, other than 'Hey Dumbass'? Over."

Melissa stares at the radio in disbelief. The Director... yelled them into chasing... somebody she'd never even MET?

"...I'm gonna want to talk to you more about this - when we're back at the Inn. Melissa out."

She mechanically packs up the radio, then looks at Jenn and Mina to see if they're ready to leave.

"I don't want to wander around here without a weapon, so do you two mind helping me look for that truck with my rifle in it?"

(I take it Director Amy has the Visions ability, and that's how she knew of Joseph. Though her earlier words about "little more than a resource", coupled with her assertion that she doesn't know his name, sorta implies that AMY considers him "little more than a resource"...)

"Sure. Splitting up would be a bad idea in any case."

I'm not staying here alone, and I'm not staying here with Mina... plus I'd much rather you have a gun then not, really.

(And yea, the director doesn't really care about Joseph - she just knows that if the bad 'guys' get their hands on him we might be pretty much done. And really, "I'd rather see him dead then in enemy hands" is at least as telling as "little more then a resource").

(Yeh, you'll eventually see that anyone that knows Joseph either hates him, or doesn't give a crap about him. He's very used to people hating him, and often encourages you to hate him at times.)

Mina complains at the sudden want to leave, "My head still hurts..." she whines, but slowly starts getting up from the booth she was laying in to join Melissa and Jenn.

D Must... Be... The... Biggest asshole ever to... RJ... Mina's BLAH BLAH BLAH I HAVE STOOPID HEAD!.)

Melissa ducks back into "Pop's Beef Jerky" to give Mina a hand up.

"Well... there's not much else we can do out here... probably the best thing for your head now would be to get a good night's sleep. And you can't do that on a restaurant bench."

She leads the way back out into the market square, looking around at the shop signs to see if any of them look useful. Probably not, this area seems to be mostly fast-food vendors catering to the Zoo's visitors, but there might be a souvenir shop with T-shirts or something.

(Look around, give RJ a chance to pounce us with something, you know, all that good stuff.)

Jenn walks a little way behind the other two girls, a little impatient at the slow pace but understanding of the cause.

Other then that woman, we've been fairly safe in here anyway. A little more time here before we go back out into the zoo won't hurt.

As the three go outside, and Melissa looks around a bit, Mina follows right by her lover's side, not wanting to leave her for the world, as they end up spending quite some time looking around, until they reach a shop that sells merchandise, mostly t-shirts, but not pants, among other things for key chains, hats, and the like.

However, Melissa soon detects life coming from above them, likely in the sky, as the three are within the store, Mina asks Melissa, "What are you looking at?" as she notes Melissa's gazing at the energy coming from above...

(Um... RJ... are you getting tired? "Mina detects life", followed by "Mina asks Melissa what she's staring at".)

Melissa jumps a little as Mina gets her attention.

"Er, um... aw geez, there's something flying up there. Three of them."

She looks around at the total lack of anything worth weaponizing, then moves towards the front of the store so she can see outside, hopefully without being seen by whatever's overhead.

"Dangit, why'd I let myself get distracted?"

(As described, move towards the front of the store. Stay behind racks so things casually looking in won't see Melissa. Look out through the store windows to see what's coming.)

(I assume as a futa who needs 'essence' to live, Mina has some minor ability to detect it?)

"Only thing I've seen in this city that flies were these weird gargoyle things. They weren't too bad. Of course, one of the girls with me had a gun, so that helped..."

Jenn assumes a defensive stance and edges her way to the door of the store, not actually going out but hoping one of the things will land in front of her.

Whether or not they knew the three girls were there, the signs of life could not be seen from where they were, as they were directly above the building they were in, so the three girls were forced to remain inside if they didn't want to be spotted.

Whatever is was, Melissa deducted that either there were things in the ceiling, or creatures flying above them...

Melissa gestures at the other two girls to keep their voices down.

"Yeah... we ran into the gargoyles once ourselves. The girl we were with had some sort of magic trick - she could stop one from moving, even when it was flying. Wish I knew how to do that..."

She continues crouching behind a convenient clothesrack, fingering her knife.

"They're low enough I'm not sure whether they're flying, or walking on the roof. At least, since there's no footsteps, I think they're flying..."

(Are they circling overhead? Or flying straight by?)

"Except they're staying overhead. I... think they know we're in here... but I guess they're waiting for us to come outside."

Melissa looks down, mentally cursing herself for getting distracted by the thought of fresh (if garishly decorated) clothing.

"You two got any ideas? Rush out all at once, somebody goes out as bait, see if there's a back door, try and wait them out?"

(Aw man... SUCH a good opportunity if we all had guns - just shoot up through the ceiling while they sit there.)

(The others would have no idea where to shoot, and Melissa would need a powerful weapon to have the bullets break through all the barriers in the way, such as stone, and wood.)

Mina puts her finger to her lip for a second in thought, "I remember seeing something flying a while ago..." she mentioned, "I don't know why, but I thought it was a bird..." her eyes look up to Melissa, "I think they were following us..."
