As Helena is starting the fire a few minutes later, Cindy walks out from the wagon shortly followed by Jasmine, both of them looking considerably neater than she does. "Good morning Helena. Did you sleep well?" Though Jasmine looks as happy as usual, there's perhaps a slight tinge of annoyance shining through it.

Helena looks over at Jasmine as she speaks and just loses it, almost doubled up laughing. Recovering a moment later, she set about the getting the fire started properly and starting on breakfast proper, still chuckling. *I had forgotten you could feed like that, Sorry to spoil your breakfast*

As Helena starts laughing, Cindy seems startled, but slowly her face turns suspicious and she looks at Jasmine, who seems to ignore her. "Tonight it's your turn to sleep in the middle." The succubus lights the fire with a gesture and helps her and Cindy make breakfast.

Helena snickers again before yanking her hands back from the fire cursing, and giving Jasmine a sideways look. "Mind the eyebrows"

Helena eats her breakfast quickly as usual and looks around the camp, watching everyone else. Day 1 was over it seemed, better part of a week to go, this was going to be a long trip. Shaking her head at the thought, Helena waited for the others to finish before helping get packed up to move again, waiting for the caravan.

The caravan doesn't take long for breakfast, and within half an hour of the sunrise they're already on the way.

In the wagon, Cindy is focused on her book while Jasmine is sitting cross-legged, apparently meditating.

Helena hops up in the wagon and takes a seat next to Jasmine, figuring she'd give the flame another shot, with or without Jasmine's help. Closing her eyes, she dove again, looking for her target, and staying calm, focusing on the sound of her own breathing.

Without Jasmine's aid, Helena's consciousness turns out to be messier than she had realized, and she has hard time finding her core, where she knows the flame to reside. The movements of the wagon and the sounds of the caravan hurt her attempts as well, but eventually she manages to get into the trance, only to see the flame flickering and resisting her commands.

Helena shuts it all out, locking herself within the trance, the only sound pounding in her ears being her pulse and her breathing. As she finds the flame, and finds it as stubborn as ever, she grits her teeth and throws all of her pain over these last few weeks, all of her joy and her love and her hate behind the effort to bend the thing to her will. There would be no going at it by halves this time and to hell with the consequences. She knew what she wanted and the last thing she was going to let stand in the way was herself...

After long wrestle, the flame stops flickering, growing steadier and stronger, but also more obedient. There's none of the heat from before, and it stays as pure as ever, glowing with steady white light.

Helena looks at the flame as it seems she finally makes headway, continuing to force her will against it, only wanting to direct it a little, to become more familiar with the feeling now that it finally seemed to be cooperating. Remembering the heat that had pulsed from the flame, and from her when jasmine was trying to guide her into her old power as a demon, Helena began to recall her experiences, the men on the lurker, her first lessons, Strike, all of her times with Jasmine and let the lust build, intentionally stoking the flame in that direction...

The heat starts building up, but at the same time Helena feels cold inside. The purity of the flame seems to be vanquishing all other sources of power, leaving Helena's lust slowly building up. She can feel herself sweating, but it's the sweating of heavy mental effort.

Helena hit it from another direction, there had always been a unique pleasure from feeding, of letting the pleasure of others fuel her power that was unlike anything she had ever felt. She sharpened her focus, trying to open that lock, recalling the sharp ecstasy of taking the power of others. Surely her soul could remember the flood of power, the source of its fuel, the feel of the power coursing through her veins. As she sought this out and forced it into the flame, she threw her own desperation into it, she knew her time was running short, she had to make progress.

The flame starts to flicker as the memories race through Helena's head, feeling alien under close inspection.

When Helena surfaces from her trance, she's already feeling tired from the mental struggle, despite the sun showing that it's not even midday yet. Jasmine seems to be playing cards with Cindy, although when Helena moves, they both turn to look at her. "How'd it go?"

"It went. I can get it to obey a bit, but I can't get it to change like we need it to..." Rubbing her head and flopping against the side of the cart, Helena closed her eyes and relaxed for a bit, finding the whole process even more taxing without Jasmine there helping.

"All in good time. Maybe we can try a different sort of practice after lunch. We should be stopping soon."

About half an hour later the caravan stops and several fires are made for cooking, again. As the trio starts cooking, Jasmine points out something flying in the distance, and Helena soon realizes that it must be a dragon.

Helena nods and spends the next half hour recovering from her rather reckless session. As the group stopped and got ready for lunch, Helena set about making it like always our of habit more then anything. As Jasmine pointed out the dragon, Helena snorted and went back to working. "The damned thing an stay in the distance for all I care"

The Dragon in Hell had been the creature of legend, the others she had seen had been mindless animals not worth her time unless they were trying to eat her. Deciding to give everyone a little treat, Helena tried something different for lunch, sharpening some stakes and making kebabs...

Cindy takes the strange way to prepare food in a stride, eating almost as much as Helena does, while some of the wagon drivers give Helena strange looks. No-one complains about the food, at least.

Helena giggles as Cindy seems to enjoy the food, and just smiled at anyone else who looked at her funny, enjoying her lunch. And it was for the best, God help anyone who complained about her cooking...

The lunch is quickly cleaned and the fires put out. As the wagons once again start rolling forward, Jasmine sits down and points Helena to sit in front of her. "All right, we'll do some basic exercises. I don't want you to go into a trance, just focus on the flame and picture it in your hand."

Helena sits and nods, taking a deep breath and trying to picture the flame in her hands, wondering what Jasmine was up to but able to give a guess or two.
