Actually, its not gay, its gynophilia, attraction to female characteristics. Theres interesting studies that traps, etc, are most liked by straight males, followed by bisexual females, gays and straight females are last place which, if you think about it for a moment, makes a lot of sense, homosexual men are attracted to MEN, not women.

Is it the multi-quotes? Do you think I've lost my temper because of them? I do that so it's easier for people to understand exactly which parts of my response correspond to which statements.

I'll let you all know now that when I've lost my temper it's not something subtle, pretty much every other word is some sort of curse, I use excessive caps and I just outright insult the one who provoked me.

Idiocy aside, now, some facts related to marriage and some questions, few will definitely be in "no shit, Sherlock" category, but data doesn't care if something is obvious or not. So, let's see...

Generally, married men tend to have better health and live longer, all statistics point to that. There is a relation between needing to stay healthy and provide, due to higher chance of fertility and probability of getting strong, healthy offspring.
Of course (because there are special people out there, so it needs to be said), this is generalized information, averages. It may show tendencies of bigger group as a whole, yet not fully represent individual cases. And there is also margin of error, which can't be forgotten. If you don't know why, please learn more about the topic. If you care enough, you will go out and find it, otherwise it's safe to assume you don't give a fuck, so why should I and give everything on silver plate?

It seems that you aren't getting happier after the marriage, it can even make you less happier and divorce tends to make you happier. Weird, right?
But, if you were happy before marriage and it reduces your happiness, it just goes back to state before marriage.
So what, it makes you healthier but less happy? Oh my, would that implicate any correlation between endless need of providing for a family and your mood?
Anyway, back on that happiness study, from questions they were asking, it seems that getting married didn't result in getting happier or more satisfied.

So what, guys just tend to marry stupid, self-centered bitches and regret it? Or is it something else? Maybe, this deal, called marriage isn't as great as it sounds to be? Maybe it deteriorated enough, that it's not as worth as it was decades ago?
Less and less men want to get married and have kids. Some realize, that they don't need to pursue good money as much, because why? For who? Some can even survive on part-time jobs, all is fine and dandy.
Sexual satisfaction? Sure, getting a blowjob or sex feels shitload better, but when even that deal is not expected or it's just not worth pursuing, men don't bother. Pornhub growing popularity doesn't come from nothing, you know?
And funny thing is, there are studies that show pretty much what's going on, but right now, showing those and talking about would cause gigantic shitstorm, related to ideas, politics and society in general.
But yeah, there is a problem.
And it's not as simple as "don't marry self-centered bitch", it's more of an effect of decades that slowly changed few things. Of course, there are countries where marriage problem isn't as big. Ironically, such countries and their statistics give prove on problematic studies people would like to not talk about.

Well, that fails to mention two things, 1) the potential psychological effects getting married can have, and related to that, 2) some people won't show their true selves before the marriage.

Why should it? First one I mentioned talked about body health related issues, second one was about happiness and satisfaction. But yes, there is also that aspect and there was something on the matter that was studied. Related? Yes. No, I am not going into this shitstorm territory, well, not in a public post at least.

More you live with someone, more you get to know them. Not always in negative sense, so there is also that. On the other hand, there are other issues that may change behavior of people before and after marriage (like money). Again, related? Yes. But not what it was about.

I get the feeling I should mention this: It was generally about benefits of the marriage and general happiness/satisfaction it gives according to data, plus slight slick from me on why less people (mostly men, gee wonder why?) don't care as much about getting married.

I point out that genes that predispose you to a healthy lifestyle also might predispose you to marry and seek more partners, negative example, if you got a disfiguring illness, gonna be hard to find someone to sleep with, we are genetically hardwired to seek out healthy partners, because.. duh.

I have a weird feeling, that you read first sentence and then skipped most of it.

Read again that post, there are those little things called question marks (those -> ?), as I clearly asked if there is any correlation, nothing about one causing each another. Second half of that post is pretty much my own rant, damn, there is even a huge shift in tone, but that may just have been how I saw it.

I wouldn't be risking "genes that predispose you to a healthy lifestyle", because that would mean there is a repetitive pattern and actual genes we could find. I would rather suggest that having a healthy lifestyle is more influenced by mind, as it is something that can change after introduction of other factors. Going for mind, rather than genes, would make more sense. Also, such style of living wasn't a common thing centuries ago. Having a healthy lifestyle is quite a new thing for humanity.
