Re: Legend of Queen Opala: Origin

Maybe it's a male mc because gabe has a voyeur fetish. And yes the games are too grindy for little rewards. I like the main story and the setting and the humor is interesting, but not the whole game since you grind for 3 hours for 2 or 3 scenes. I'd like the game to have at least triple the scenes it had in the 2nd game. And a text skip option would be nice...
Voyeur? I guess....
but the protag just feels....non-existent

One doesn't easily find a good story in porn games...

What did you expect if you open up the art gallery and there are shitload of things? Ofc it's a grindy adventure.

Re: Legend of Queen Opala: Origin

Ok so this post is spoiler content for stuff I just found in latest beta

found my last missing added legendary, its the Mana Golem legendary found in Tower of Descent zone, it is in the cave

I found the Roseus encounter in Serenity Bridge - the cave had a northern path added to it and her room is behind a weak wall (need dynamite to open)

but Roseus's dialogue options do not seem to work atm

still have not found the Ultima boss that was added, I thought Roseus would be it but it did not give credit when I downed her

new cg scenes I found:

the Beatrix scene is 1 slot in the art gallery with 2 variations of the scene

Opala's scene with Sebastilion - is 1 slot in the art gallery

Gabrielle has a scene in the Gentleman's Club - is 2 slots in the art gallery

second scene with Illumi - is 1 slot in art gallery

one scene is unlocked with Mhu'Tiki where you go buy a Lewd Latcher for Ra'Tiki - this scene is 3 slots in the art gallery, although you can only get 2 per playthrough

there is a scene with Steel Demoness - is 2 slots in art gallery with like 3 different variations

Zweibelle's scene when you are in her lab - is 1 slot in the art gallery (this story scene can actually be skipped so make sure you pick the first option)

Re: Legend of Queen Opala: Origin

I was so angry that episode II had to end just the moment my Magichound was turning in something interesting....^^

Oh boy, 2018 it is. Hopefully the story isn't a let down.

well that is where the latest beta ends

hopefully Swegabe pushes a little more content into Episode II

like for instance - there is hardly any side content in the current beta

I think we only have 1 new side quest

1.13 also has some of bugs with the trading cards rewarding duplicates and the art gallery not showing the right edition scenes

then I saw even an in-game issue where Farah or Gabrielle somehow stay in the party when Devon escapes from Hollow Gorge when it is suppose to be just you and *Mercenary

and the funny thing about that is if you talk to Mercenary when she frees you from the exam table, it shows Beatrix's picture :p

@ Drum Beat, got a question for ya

did you find where the new Dimensional Shards are located and did you find the Ultima?

Afaik there are 30 shards now you can find which is enough to trigger Illumi's second sex scene. They are not well hidden and can be found if you just walk around and take your time. Don't forget the 3 missable shards at Imperial Manor, Grand Bridge and Darkthorn Keep before you get arrested in the beginning of the game.

This guide is outdated by now but there aren't much more new locations in episode 2.

I'm still pushing up my level and kill monsters so the bosses can appear. Therefore i don't know where the ultima monster is.^^

as of beta 1.11 - I had everything unlocked save for certain edition CG scenes as I never bothered to do a replay past the end of Episode I on Beastman B mode

as of beta 1.13 - I did another replay this time on Beastman A mode and can't find that darn Ultima and the lone Dimensional Shard that was added

so I'm at 33/34 on Dimensional Shards

btw - farming Mana Golems is your best bet because each kill drops 230 experience and 2500 krown (edit here - they also have a pretty good chance to drop Platinum)

I made back atleast half the krown I spent on properties when I farmed the 2 star achievement on the Mana Golems

make sure you get 30 kills on all other mobs though just so their legendaries will spawn

the only mob whose legendary isn't implemented yet is the Hollow Man one, but I would still grind out the 2 star achievement on him just so you would be done with it

I'm not even sure if i want to unlock everything. The current save file is probably fucked up as soon as the update is available.

Exactly, BUT...

At least it's original, I respect LoQO because it was one of the forefathers of the English RPG Maker scene, I have my beefs with it as a fan because I'm not a fan of multiple artists working on one game, shit feels a bit all over the place, but that doesn't remove any of the credit that LoQO deserves as being a pioneer and original even tho I don't believe the second being as good as the first, but EVERYONE heard of it.

It's not another one of those games that you'll play and not remember the next day, regardless if the art was great, there's many games like that, and it wasn't a cash cow with 70 mb's, so major kudos to Gabe and pushing the scene as she did with nothing but love for creating. Respect.

Well put. I remember the first LOQO being a revelation at the time for me, and got me into exploring RPGs and the HRPGs that were out at the time (not much)...

Re: Legend of Queen Opala: Origin

WTF why is this a male protag RPG? you can remove him and everythingv still plays nicely (its not like he's involved in anything, such as sex)
It's a self insert character for the player to project onto. Hence the blandness, to not interfere with the player's own ideas.

It's a fairly common technique.

I rather have it this way as having such an annoying asshole hero called Rance....

Same here, I have no idea why people like that game with an MC being an annoying cunt like that.

Look up the term "deconstruction", that should enlighten you as to why people like his character. Also if you play through the games and pay attention there's rather more depth to the world and the characters that you'll get at face value.
Rance being an asshole is intended so that people actually hate him, because he doesn't want to get close to people, kind of happened due to him getting kicked out of his home-town after he was sexually abused, his savior and mentor then getting killed by monsters, and some girl he was with aborted his child, dude has attachment issues, anyone would, and how do you keep people from getting attached to you?

Also Rance is what you call a protagonist, not a "hero" and that's kind of important.

Ohh that changes everything...not? I'm sure everyone has his fetish (you know...watching a 10 yo playing playboy surely gets me errected) but enduring that clown in every single game with his "must fuck everything" problem? Thanks but no thanks.

Just my opinion, i'm already armed with popcorn for the -rep. =3

And now i won't go any further with the OT.

You're entitled to your own opinions, though you could do with some nuance in how you present them, personally I dislike blob characters that just do whatever the narrative demands of them (Geralt in Witcher 3 is a prime example) with no consistency, no clear morality or motives etc. LoQOO has this same issue where the main character will completely flip-flop from one stance to the next scene to scene.

That said, there's no reason why you shouldn't dislike Rance, he has plenty of moments where he is utterly obnoxious and downright insufferable, hell I'd strongly recommend not playing Rance VI first because that's basically the middle of his character arch where him being a fucking asshole reaches the apex and you'll miss every bit of nuance from the earlier games.

But yea, to people willing to endure his awful attitude will find a rare deep character with a lot of development and the payoff at the end so far has been great.

^ Facts

I had people complain about fat or shitty looking male characters and a common named game is Scale Gardens, mostly because they want to be able relate with the males having sex with the MC / female characters, a bland character makes it free so you can define his personality by yours.

Ayame from Fleeting Iris was meant to look SUPER GENERIC, like ultimate blank sheet / ultimate girl next door for the sake of being able to adapt to the player's needs and all the different routes, basically YOU define the character, it's not as deep as LoQO but LoQO does it very well and it's a different and cool approach for a MC, as in, the MC is LITERALLY you.

That's why some MC's done have name, voice, sometimes not even as much as a face. It's actually pretty dope but not for everyone.

As long as the story is interesting, somewhat understandable (Dark Souls I-III, as an example, sometimes goes a little bit too far with it's hidden story elements^^) and not copied over and over and over from other games i neither need voices nor a name for the PC. Sadly most games created with RPG Maker or other tools are very lazy copies or excuses for bad programming skills.
