Those guys on the blog are assholes, but it does seem like a bit of a waste to put so much work into something with such a limited potential audience. I remember you saying something about kurovadis like "no one would pay $5 if it weren't a hentai game". Have you seen Steam Greenlight lately? People making a lot more money than that off a lot less game than what you've put out. Maybe try a non-H game after this one and see how it do?

Well, think of it this way,
A good H game will pretty much always do well. It's a small niche, but an unfulfilled niche.
A good game on Steam could fail horribly, or indeed, may never even get greenlit.
So, right now my goal should be stability. I can take risks when I know I can sink a year into something and land on my feet should it fail financially.
Until then, I need to finish this game, and hire an artist.
That will solve many of the problems that slow me down, mainly creating enemies. If I make 30,000 from a game in a year, $3,000-$4000 is nothing to pay for an artist if it means I can make a game every 2-3 months.
As soon as I make more than one game per year, I'll be in a scenario where I have access money to work with. That would mean that I could hire more artists (Tilesets would be next), further increasing the speed AND quality of projects.
At that point, since I could involve myself less with each role. I could afford to work on larger projects that would otherwise be risky. Stories, lot's of CGs, multiple characters, etc. Because I could afford to hire writers, or someone specifically to make cutscenes, etc.
At THAT point, I would try making a Steam game.

I know that indiegames.com spotlights NSFW content sometimes. Maybe they'd be willing to do a post on one of Kyrieru's games, get a bit more publicity without the extra work of trying to Greenlight something.

2. Living expenses for more than a year.
3. Audio equipment, monitors, etc
4. Paying for family related expenses.
5. Tax.

Also, I still have money. I just don't like the idea of living month to month and just saying "Oh, I'll be fine."

I gotta admit, I am pretty dissapointed that the demo won't be coming for abit.
I kind liked how the demo for your first Metroidvania worked- showed off the gameplay, but was also completely different from the main game.. So when I bought that, things were fresh all over again from a level design standpoint anyway..
That was just my take on it though, you're free to do as you please man.

The only thing that's taking a long time is releasing a game since the previous one -__-
This game is being developed faster then Eroico was, and it has arguably more content.

On the plus side, after this one's done there's another partway done. It's theoretically possible we could see 2 Kyrieru games this year. If you're looking for something to play in the meantime, Papanomics, the devs behind Bastion just released a really cool sci-fi game. It's called Transistor.

Yes, I heard of Transistor. Looks good, but I have Bastion and haven't beat it yet. So I may play that.
