Re: In today's news...

That's the problem with third party candidates, never public enough when they've got a shot. The country is prime for a third party president, but nobody that doesn't go out of their way to find them knows who else might be a candidate. Arguably one should be looking at all possible candidates, but honestly I've got work to do, games to play, porn to jerk it to, and sleep to catch up on, I don't have the time to ferret out every presidential candidate.

Hell, I'd vote that large black transvestite (Ru Paul?) if it were running and I knew over Dump and I can't do my job!

And splitting the vote is how we got 8 years of bush no thank you. I'm swallowing my pride and voting Clinton because trump is the infinitely worse candidate. Mostly because his VP is the devil.

I'm pretty sure Hillary doesn't work for Trump's VP.

:p

But no, seriously. Pence is the absolute worst He said that he wants to make abortion illegal because, since its a medical procedure women get time off work, that women are going to go out and get raped on purpose so that they can get an abortion and miss work, ruining the economy.

Like... wtf.

Pence is... Pence knows how to work with a repub congress to make people's lives hell. There's already a ton of shit starting to make the rounds in prep for Trump/Pence to remove anti discrimination laws because "they aren't necessary anymore" and to remove the classification "hate crime" from ... well... crimes against minorities and lgbt+ folks. Plus making conversion therapy legal for children again and a whole host of gross things.

Not to mention the removal of national parks as federally protected land. Like, to lose the national parks would be an ecological disaster, yes, but there are a lot of first nations people that live on that land that would be forced out of their last remaining hereditary land.

Trump/Pence scares the shit out of me. Hillary may be a lying sack of shit, but at least she isn't going to completely ruin everything. And Bernie backed her, so I'm gonna vote.

This year, I'm just glad I'm European and I can just laugh at it like it's a bad parody of politics

I don't believe for a second that there was any scenario where Bush wasn't in office for 8 years. Even if the whole country voted for... -I can't remember who else ran WAIT that might've been the problem a weak ass candidate!- Bush would have still gotten a second term.

Splitting the vote was how we got him in the first place. Ugh, I remember voting in my school's election for Ross Perot.

God.

I wanna say it was Al Gore first time and then John McCain the second?
I was in Elementary/Middleschool at the time but those are the two big ones I remember besides Bush

Re: In today's news...

Gore the first time, and Kerry the second.

McCain went against Obama
Ohh yeahh, Kerry.
Though I could've sworn McCain was in the 04 election at some point as well, as a vice or maybe he just wasn't a final nominee

Re: In today's news...

Thank you for refreshing my memory. I would have voted for a shoe before I voted for Kerry, and Gore was just as much of a joke but I don't blame the democrats for him, they knew it would be a wash after Clinton.

You know... if a third party candidate were to sign Cheney up as their VP... I wonder how many souls it would take to summon him back?

Also think on this: Pokemon Go Gym battles for President! Each candidate has their own team, and the president's gym is accessable from any location, as long as your team controls the gym you're president! Of course they'd need to let you do a little more to reinforce that particular gym.

Re: In today's news...

I think I'd rather put a living meme into office than someone who tried to pawn off the deaths of people under their watch to a youtube video.

That, and a Trump presidency would be, at worst, cock-blocked left and right. A gov doing that would have little time and resources to screw the rest of us over. Hillary is too much of faithful sockpuppet. She'd just expedite the agenda that belonged to the biggest moneybags, regardless of how good or bad it is.

I'm not British, but the EU is basically a mix of the worst Trump and Hillary do combined, so I laugh whenever they get fucked too

The complete inability to understand basic logic of Trump and the globalistic 'fuck the common people' of Hillary, with a bonus cherry of 'Literally tax the citizens to give to bankers', and all that while they think of themselves as great champions of good virtues while simultaneously trying to silence any opposition

That mess collapsing alone is worth a good laugh to me. I'm still waiting on the next country to leave, and hope that happens soon.

That said, it's still not as bad as US politics.

Re: In today's news...

You should rephrase that to "at best". At worst, it would be a fucking nightmare. I'm more willing to put up with the terrible status quo than let Trump into the White House.

Just one more reason to move to Canada. Yeah, they have fuck ups too but you know at least they have some stuff that softens the blow.

I dunno, Obama's been cockblocked left and right almost his entire term! So it stands to reason that those people will give Dump the keys to the kingdom.

Trump has been steadily building up an army of loudmouthed brownshirts, and if the RNC has been proving anything, it's that the (current) extreme Partyism in the US is providing an efficient tool to force moderates to toe the line. Dissidence is disloyalty, protest unpatriotic, and a will to compromise is weakness.

Touche then. Haha, I'd bring up world war 3, but there's an equal chance of it starting here between demos and repubs.

Re: In today's news...

At this rate I give it a decade or two, give or take. Between North Korea and Russia trying to prove who has the bigger penis, the US screaming for revenge then wanting to back out after they get mired in a land war in Africa (You fool! You preformed the Classic Blunder!) and of course the next presidency, I'm just sitting here waiting for the enhanced VR version of Fallout to hit...

The classic blunder is a land war in Asia. From colonial times up to and including WW2 showed us land wars in Africa are perfectly doable, though they need different tactics from land wars in Europe

I was going to put news here, but I've got nothing really new to post just yet
Turkey is still fucked, Syria is still fucked, Europe is still trying to figure out just how fucked they are, and the US is still dealing with their problems
