Humbid0 Games

Re: Humbid0 Games

I'll keep a look out, though I will have to start a new game since my save is right after buying the final roll of film and thus I seem to be forced to end the game there.

...Wasn't there a way to skip to a certain set of missions, or was that removed with the complete version?

There is a debug menu, and you can use it to skip to the 2nd or 3rd chapter of the game.

To enable it, open the game's folder and look inside the "swf" folder.
One of the files inside of it will be named "x setFlags.swf"
Rename that file to "setFlags.swf" (remove the x at the beginning of its name)
Then run the game.
On the very first screen, press the ~ key. (the key to the left of the number 1 on the keyboard)
A blank white box will appear with 2 buttons under it.
Click on the large white box and type the word "debug", then click on the "ok" button.
2 glowing orbs will appear on the right side of the room.
If you talk to the top one, it will send you to chapter 2.
If you talk to the bottom one, it will send you to chapter 3.

Also, if you hold CTRL and press ~, you will see another screen that allows you to view and edit ALL of the game's variables.
(It takes a moment for this screen to appear)
The most important variables are the ones that deal with mission progress.
Chapter 1 missions are controlled by these variables:
chore1
loli1
shota1
scheme1
tech1
beast1
beastB1
revenge1

Chapter 2 mission variables end with a 2 instead of a 1.
Anyway, their values are set to numbers, which are displayed on the right.
When a mission's number is set to 0 (zero), it is available, but hasn't been started yet.
As you progress through a mission, its number increases.
If you complete or cancel a mission (using a sparkle), its value is set to -1.
The character sprites in the game check these values to figure out whether they show up and what they do.
Changing these values won't affect the music or the task list in the game's HUD. Those are changed manually by the events in the game.

Happy hacking!

Re: Humbid0 Games

I knew the ~ key was involved, but it wasn't working because I didn't know you had to rename that file. Thanks.

Re: Humbid0 Games

Well i completed the game and it was very good, i am addicted to trickery humbird0 plots, =p. I hope you release a new game soon!
Thank you for your hard work

Re: Humbid0 Games

I just finished the game, and it was very nice. The animations in some of the later missions were pretty cleverly done and the whole thing oozes with the usual Humbird0 humor and charm.

If I have any complaints, it's that the "photos" tab seems a bit underused. Even with both the photo sets it looks rather empty.

Also, given the length of the game it would be nice to have some sort of post-game area after the ending where you could repeat some of the scenes. Just an idea.

Re: Humbid0 Games

I had considered the idea of adding the ability to easily replay previously discovered missions. It could be written off as some time-space distortion caused by Nicky's experiments.

I also thought it'd be cool if the mission items could have an alternative use at the end, since it's possible to pick them up and then keep them by skipping their missions.

I wonder how I should incorporate more pictures?
The allure of acquiring more pictures is main reward of the photo missions at the end of each part, so making to easy to get pictures in other ways would make those missions anti-climactic.
Pictures could be acquired as bonus rewards for discovering hidden things.
I already have one bonus picture that you can get for beating the "mini-game" located later in the game.

Re: Humbid0 Games

I enjoyed getting to play the complete babysitter's club game, and was surprised to see the fighting against monsters minigame from toonpimp. It is a good game and I look forward to your next project, pokemon or anything else you come up with.

Re: Humbid0 Games

Toonpimp didn't make that game, I did.
However, he did create some of the enemy graphics.

Re: Humbid0 Games

This is a parody of Castlevania, inspired by Toonpimp's game, Cracklvania.
I originally hid this inside of as a surprise "mini-game"
This game tends to run slow inside of web browsers, so I recommend downloading it and playing it offline for better performance.

Re: Humbid0 Games

The mini game really needs a infinite life cheat. Even though the enemies give you live sometimes and there are a few places for life i still run out wayyyy to fast.

Re: Humbid0 Games

The Platformer game is incredible, but the potion that the enemy dropped after teasing doesn't do anything...

Re: Humbid0 Games

You need to go into inventory and use the potion.

Re: Humbid0 Games

the platform game was awesome :) good work.
also, what music did you use for the terracom game?

Re: Humbid0 Games

The 3D Terracom game?
I actually created that music myself using Sony Acid.
That game was an old project from college.

Re: Humbid0 Games

Castlemania
roflmao +10 for using the Bad Apple instrumental

Re: Humbid0 Games

I've just uploaded a level editor for the Castlemania game.
The game is included with the editor.

In other news, the game has also been updated to allow cheat codes at the title screen.
The Konami code, and the Sonic the hedgehog code. These grant infinite HP and energy.
This should work in all current versions posted online.

Re: Humbid0 Games

Humbird0, I thought I'd make a download of your current games so people could get them in one go if that's OK with you, if not let me know and I'll remove it.

Re: Humbid0 Games

Humbird0, I just downloaded Babysitters Club 2 on my mac but it won't work. Whenever I play it, either the loading data screen will pop up for a second or the screen will just be completely black. I play most .swf files in firefox by just dragging the files in my browser, same for this one, dragging the game.swf file. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Humbid0 Games

2lckk, try checking your flash swf settings, sometimes one is set for different prog, etc.
