Threads like this are exactly the reason I avoid, have always avoided, and will continue to avoid 4chan.

Seriously guys? Six days and you're still amused by this?

Re: Fairy Fighting

Cute. Very well thought out response.

By the way, most of the appeal of this forum is that it and its constituents are different than most forums. The community is close-knit, the members are more intelligent than average and the discussions are thought provoking. That's ULMF's identity. That's why people come here instead of 4chan. Unfortunately, it's threads like this, the mindless lulzy posting of images that requires no thought whatsoever that makes 4chan what it is. If you want ULMF to lose its unique identity and become another spinoff of 4chan, you keep on keepin' on and you really shouldn't give a damn. It's halfway there already, with many of the older members left or leaving.

But if you want to help the community maintain its individualistic identity in the niche world of H and especially H-games, I would suggest you start caring, or else you lose, too.

Re: Fairy Fighting

Anyone heard of this game called Fairy Fighting? I've heard it's pretty cool.

Re: Fairy Fighting

I'm with Alias, although the updates have been slow as of late, there was an important notice about financial trouble and we ran off on this as if there was nothing to talk about.

We had also recently brought up whether or not re-releasing the same material with minor changes to it was a good idea or not, and I think our reaction is one of evidence of why it isn't. This thread, unlike others, was kept up frequently because of it's constant releases and look what happens at a lull when we all find the temptation to stick to posting in this thread for routine but have nothing to say, as opposed to our usual strange posting which was already routine.

This is just when our forum's normal add gets combined with pictures.

Re: Fairy Fighting

Alright, look. No-one here is trying to ruin ULMF's identity, and on that front I think your overreacting a little. We were always known for

Pehonix Alugere said:
Ah ULMF. The only forum I know that essentially has ADHD.

and no amount of complaining is ever going to change that. Also, certainly we are not idiots, but even intelligent people enjoy this kind of thing sometimes. Y'know, just because we're smart, doesn't mean we ALWAYS stay on topic, or that we ALWAYS think out our responses.

Coming back to the first point, I really think you're overreacting on the whole "it's people like you that are ruining ULMF". As I said, we aren't doing anything that bad, but more notably, even if we were, it generally takes more than one thread to kill a forum. Certainly we have recieved an amount of spam lately, making the better threads harder to find, but it would take our contributing members spamming to actually affect our image significantly. Sure we could always block out the spammers, or the people who just post vanilla, but they aren't doing enough damage to be worth it anyway.

Basically, this one thread isn't gonna change anything, especially not with the "vanilla flood" as I call it.

Secondly, who said we had to think out anything anyway? We do because we like to, not because anyone tells us. Ergo, we don't have to, and we don't always want to anyway, so sometimes we go off on a tangent like this thread and just have some mindless fun. It lasts a while, then we eventually get back on topic and things resume the way they were before. Commenting on the process and complaining about it isn't going to achieve anything but a few angry posts, things said in haste and maybe a ban or two. None of which would be very productive, wouldn't you agree?

So basically, sometimes we make a roller coaster, and you're best off sitting back and enjoying the ride while it lasts.

If you don't want to read the whole rant, then here's the short version;
One thread like this isn't going to ruin our identity, especially not with all this other "vanilla" crap, and we have a tendency to go off topic mindlessly; it's who we are.

Sit back, shut up, and enjoy the ride.

Re: Fairy Fighting

HEY! I don't have to enjoy anything.
