Re: BurningGold Test Thread

Grunting in pain, she reloads her own pistol as quickly as she can with her injured arm, trying to back away from the man so that his shot is harder. She knows from experience that shooting form lying on your back made it a great deal more difficult to aim well, especially with a handgun.

"We're both probably going to bleed to death anyway, you moron! If you'd have let me go on my merry way to start with, we wouldn't be in this mess and you might have gotten a blowjob out of the deal!" Julie spits back at him while she reloads and takes aim, her hand shaking slightly from the pain. Even though she had been shot, she still held onto that lie, even as she squeezed off the round that would hopefully end the poor young mans life.

To hit: Success
Damage: Enough to kill the thief.

The man aims his gun, but is unable to pull the trigger. Instead, his arm went limp as he let a sob out, mumbling something out before Julie shot her bullet. Perhaps he was speaking to his family, as if they were there, or maybe a prayer to whatever god he might of worshiped. With ease, the girl aims her gun pulls the trigger. There is a loud bang, then silence. The man is hit in the chest, finishing him off. His eyes go blank as his fresh wound bleeds, creating little puddles of blood around him.

Julie is wounded, quite badly to be honest. She needed to find something to heal her wound, or at least to stop the bleeding. If she didn't she'd pass out soon enough, then either die or be at the mercy of whatever found her first.

Re: BurningGold Test Thread

Julie very nearly drops her gun from the pain once she realizes that the young bandit is dead. She fumbles it into its holster, not bothering to try and reload it, before she moves over to the corpse. She very nearly passes out as she gets down onto her knees and looks over the body, trying to find anything clean enough to use as a bandage.

Once she has a bandage, she quickly drops her pack and opens it, reaching for a knife and a bottle of water. She'd have preferred to have a fire so she could cauterize the wound, but she'd have to make due and hope it remained uninfected until she could get it properly treated. Trying her best to blot out the pain, Julie uses the knife to dig as much of the bullet out of her as she can, keeping her teeth clenched to contain her scream of pain. Then, if she was still conscious, she'd pour water onto the wound and try to bandage it as best she could with one hand.

The dead mans shirt is surprisingly clean looking, lacking much of a scent, and will work very well as a bandage. It rip's easily, being turned from a tattered shirt to a bandage Julie manages to find the strength to dig the entire bullet out of her arm. The metal tears through her skin and muscle, causing mind blowing pain to shoot through her arm. Blood pours out, down on her arm and onto the stone floor. The metal blade finally finds the small bullet and lifts it out of the would. The bronze colored bullet falls onto the ground, making a small sound as it hit the floor.

She pours the water on the wound, cleaning it out, before tightly bandaging it. Her arm is throbbing in pain, enough pain to bring her to tears, however the horrible pain is over now, her wound as been dealt with. She can do as she pleases now. Looking down on the floor, she see's the small metal bullet covered in her blood. The girl decides to take it and keep it as a memento, much like a child would pull a out of it's foot and keep it.

( Julie acquired a used bullet. )

Pocketing the used bullet, Julie decides that she might as well check the bastards corpse over. She'd hoped to avoid any severe injuries on this trip, and now she'd be at a severe disadvantage in close range combat. She makes sure to use her wounded arm as little as possible, and rifles through the dead guys pockets, as well as anywhere else he might have had anything. She also takes a look at the gun he still clenched in his hand.

Searching the dead thief Julie finds a small pouch of bronze and silver coins, and shiny and cool to the touch. The total they add up to is more then the last guy had, although it still did not add up to much money. There wasn't anything else on him worth taking. The gun in his hand was a cheap pistol, one much cheaper and weaker then the one Julie was using. She could likely get some coin for it, although likely not much. Was it worth taking it all the way back to town for a few coins?

( Julie acquired 10 coins and may take the gun. She is free to keep it and sell it or use it as a weapon. )

Re: BurningGold Test Thread

Tossing the useless pistol aside, Julie rises unsteadily to her feet. She winces in pain with every movement of her injured arm, but keeps herself steady. Deciding that she'd better get moving, as someone was likely to investigate the gunshots, she headed in the direction that the young man had come from. She tried to keep silent as before, though it was more difficult with her wincing in pain with every movement.

The pistol is thrown and hit against a wall, making a clanking sound. Getting to her feet the girl left the dead man behind. Even with the terrible pain in her arm Julie manages to continue down the hallway, and luckily without interruption. When she reaches the end of the hallway she see's two doors, one to the left and the other to her right. Both seem identical and are without keyholes.

Glancing between the two closed doors, Julie thinks for a moment whether she even wants to try and open one of them. Deciding that she might as well get this job done with as soon as possible, Julie glances between the two a few times before pulling her gun from its holster and quietly opening the door to her right.

Silently opening the door to her right, gun drawn, Julie enters a dusty and empty room. Stepping inside the door quietly shut behind her, only making a small clanking sound as it shut. Directly ahead of her was another door, identical to the one behind her, and to her right was another door. Both didn't have locks, showing that she'd be able to go in whatever door she pleased.

'It's a god damn maze in here.' Julie thinks to herself, as she eyes the two doors. She chews her lip for a moment, the throbbing pain in her arm briefly ignored as she thought about what she should do. She didn't want to mark a trail which anyone else could follow, but she also didn't want to wander aimlessly and get lost.

Eventually, Julie just continues forward, taking the door directly in front of her and trying to open it as quietly as possible. She couldn't risk leaving some kind of easily identifiable trail to follow back to the exit, and she might a well try and continue in a straight line.

Quickly opening the door and shutting it behind her the girl finds herself in another room identical the the one before! Another dusty empty room. Only difference between this one and the last was that there wasn't a door directly ahead of her, only solid wall. However, to her right was a door, one without a keyhole and likely unlocked. What could possibly be behind it?

Shrugging, which draws an involuntary wince of pain, Julie heads through the door, being just as cautious as she had been the entire trip.

Opening the heavy door and shutting it behind her Julie finds herself in a hallway. It's empty and void of anything aside from air and dust. At the end of it is another common door. Strangely enough, the floor is different. It's made up of four long tiles. Under all the dust they seem to be colored black. Could these tiles mean something or just be decoration. Regardless, the girl would have to step on them to reach the end of the hallway and make it to the door.

'Brilliant. Damn things probably drop out if you step on them.' Julie thinks to herself, as she examines the tiles. 'That, or set off some kind of an alarm.'

Her shoulder still killing her, Julie bends down to examine the tiling, hoping to determine its purpose. She tests it with a little weight, trying to see if it has any give. She tests each of the tiles in turn, one at a time. If any of them give at all, she pulls back immediately.

(Test for traps.)

The first tile goes down slightly when weight is put on it. Nothing happens however, the tile just goes down, nothing goes off at all. The same thing happens with the second tile, it just goes down ever so slightly, and nothing happens. When Julie gets to the third black, dusty tile it does the same thing as the others... However, it makes a small clicking sound. Regardless of how the girl reacts, nothing else happens. Just a small clicking sound. Seeing how none of these tiles have caused her any harm, she continues to the fourth one.

Interestingly enough, when she steps on the fourth tile it makes a clanking sound. Nothing happens, just a clanking sound. Now why would the previous tile make a clicking sound but this one make a clanking sound?

When she reaches for the door, it is locked. There is no keyhole or visible switch in the dusty room. What could possibly unlock the door?

'Well, at least it didn't kill me.' Julie thinks to herself, as she examines the tiles. She tries stepping on the fourth tile again, figuring that there was probably some kind of pattern that resulted in the door getting locked, and that a different sequence would unlock it.

In order to step on the fourth tile again Julie had to take a step backward on the third tile. When she did so it made a small clanking sound. Would she now go back onto the fourth tile or do something else?

Pausing at the clanking sound, Julie decides to try the door again. If it still didn't budge, Julie would try hopping over to the fourth tile, and then hopping back. If the door still didn't open, she'd simply start hitting them randomly until she heard another clang. All the while, she expected the tiles to fall out and drop her into some kind of pit.

Moving over to the fourth tile once more the square went down and made a clicking sound. Reaching for the door knob she feels the brass refusing to turn. The door was still locked. Seeing how this combination's didn't work Julie began to move back and fourth toward and away from the third and fourth tiles, trying a few different combination's. In a minute or so she is able to figure the puzzle out. She'd gotten both the tiles to make a clicking sound, and when she reached for the brass knob she felt it turn.

The door was now unlocked. Turning the knob and pulling the door it opened to reveal a dusty room seemingly being used for storage. There were maybe three or four wooden crates, but there were also two treasure chests. The last notable thing in the room wasn't really a thing but a person. A woman was sitting again one of the crates, seeming to be drinking from a large bottle that was likely filled with an alcoholic drink. Her skin was tan and her hair was a dark shade of brown. Her outfit resembled that of the previous thief's. The lighting in the room was bad, so it was hard to make out a lot of her features.

Seeming to take notice when the door opened up, the lady looked up to Julie, her eyes seeming anything but hostile. " Hey... You don't look like you're in the gang... How... How did you get in here? " She began to ask, her voice seeming curious and rather unthreatening. It was also slurring, indicating that she was drunk. Her eyes wander from the girls eyes to her wounded arm; " Hey, are you alright? What happened to your arm? " she asked before taking another swig from her bottle.
