The answer is probably on your patreon, but why did you remove the Latcher enemy?

I can't say I'm excited about it. I'm here for the hentai.
Eh.

I hope this game might be one of those extremely rare ones where you come for the hentai, and stay for the game/story. Kinda like MGQ where people stuck around for the story instead of the porn.

So this looks like you didn't do much in regards to the actual hentai. In fact you removed an enemy.

Yeah, but the hentai can't exist in a vacuum. It requires a framework -- which itself requires a shit ton of work.

There's literally only one game I can think of where I started it for the H and by the end I was literally skipping all the scenes to get to the story and that was Sengoku Rance. If that's what they're aiming to do..well, good luck to them

Will they come back in some form? I suggested way back when that they be more fleshed-out, but in their current form they were really easy to avoid and even if you failed, didn't mean much especially if the area is clear of other enemies.

So this looks like you didn't do much in regards to the actual hentai. In fact you removed an enemy.

One enemy with one animation that in all honesty wasn't that good, and otherwise a negligible impact on gameplay. It hits one of my biggest fetishes, but even I can agree with its removal.
If all you're after is a glorified gallery, pretty much the entire porn industry has you covered. I'd wager most people play H-games because they're an interactive experience, most of the time giving context to their art.

I'm with Jesus. Bah dum tiss (But really though this is a major reason for me plot details etc just add to the experience for myself and great gameplay is a reason i will complete it rather than just look up a save after i buy something)

Then sorry, but Crisis Point isn't the game for you, nor will any of my other games ever be. I'm very firmly dedicated to making my H-games also be good GAMES. I'm not here to make porn with a shitty, half-assed game attached to it. The entire reason The Great Rework™ is happening is because of the pressure to constantly put out H-content instead of focusing on the game, so now it's time to focus on the game for a while.

@AnonTheHuman - Sorry, I dunno how I messed that up - the explanation for the Latcher should have been in the post ABOUT the update, but since I forgot it there, here: "Oh, and for those of you wondering about the removal of the Latcher enemies, I felt they weren't bringing anything of value to the game; they were just a source of irritation, and very hard to see to boot, so I decided to remove them entirely."

@textbook703 - Exactly. I've barely been able to spare a thought to the rest of the game, with the constant rush for new content. So now I have to go cleanup.

@Shinkaiser G - If you don't play H-games for good gameplay, that's fine. But that's what I'm trying to achieve. It's more 'gameplay' and less 'story' for this one (although I'm hoping the character interactions will be fun enough to make people want to see them), so don't expect TOO amazing of a story out of it. That's not to say I won't try and have a good story, of course. But gameplay is the focus.

@Jesus - Highly unlikely. The problem with Latchers is that their role as an enemy is already filled; they serve as a nuisance enemy that disables you temporarily, which is exactly the same thing the Cumshooters do, just in a slightly different fashion.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with you working on the gameplay alone, I also didn't state anything that wasn't true. Don't be so quick to cast me out, as I've been supporting your game for a long time :-/

The game is fun and I like the hentai. There's no hentai added (besides an unfinished scene) and I don't feel excited about that.

All too sensitive, man.

Sorry, but it definitely came across as you tossing out all the work I did just because there's not enough porn. I'm almost certain I've said before that The Great Rework™ wouldn't have much in regards to sex content, so this update shouldn't have been surprising to anyone; either way, it doesn't exactly feel great to put all this effort into an update and then have someone say "not interested" because there's not enough porn added.

@AGamerPassingBy - They're the tiny brown guys that fly off the wall and attach themselves to Alicia's breasts, requiring you to struggle free. They can't deal damage on their own so they're completely pointless without other enemies around.. again, much like the cumshooters.

the one that latches onto you.

...
*slow clap*

I mean, every single enemies are technically "latching" on to you when they rape you, right? :p

But for real tho, if they're so forgettable and they didn't really contribute even to the hentai maybe it is for the best for them to be removed.

100% correct. Couldn't get 2 at same time, weren't affected by BE, only function was to slow down gameplay. They weren't even positioned to really stop you from advancing past a difficult jump or anything.

Good call on removing them A42.

The $5 tier is about to be phased out in the next months, if it makes you feel any better. Well, not quite "phased out", but changed completely, and it will no longer offer Crisis Point playable updates. There's more info on that in the latest public post on my patreon, if you're interested in details.

Sure, I'll check it out. What I wanted was those playable updates, however I see that it won't be the case..

I really adore the update.
The new HQ version of the protagonist looks amazing.
Also by the new music over the last updates, combined with the improved background tiles, it caused me to just stand there or walk around a little and simply enjoy the atmosphere, .. which i never did in other hentai games yet.
It shows to me that this game makes something pretty damn right on a high level
keep it up!

Wait, hang on. I'm just getting to the point where I can help support a $5/month project. Are you telling me that even if I can, it's not enough to warrant access to your game? If so, can I throw a lump sum at you, and still receive the benefits I care about?

The 5 dollars a month was just a limited "early bird" tier for the people who came onto the patreon during it's beginning. It's been the source of some confusion though in regards to the 10 dollar tier, since it is the same thing basically.

Now, the 5 dollar tier itself won't be going anywhere, but it's reward's are being redone; a post on the patreon goes over, but I'll quote the relevant bits here,
"After Brawler Bits' first official demo, I plan on replacing Crisis Point with Brawler Bits in the $5 tier, and removing the patron limit on that tier. In addition, I plan on adding a high-res CG pack to the $10 tier, which will include all current Crisis Point CGs (as well as their variations) in full 1080p resolution. This means that people pledging at the $10 tier will receive Brawler Bits updates, Crisis Point updates, AND the high-res CPE CG pack. Hopefully that will make the $10 pricetag feel a little more worth it, and lessen the sting for those patrons who have been using the $5 tier this whole time. "

Sidenote: Brawler Bits is a smaller side project we're working on as well, there's a post on the patreon that talks about it more as well.

I'd link to the post itself, but am not currently allowed to post links, but if you go to the patreon, it's the one titled "BB and Patreon Plans" if you want to read it all.

If you want though, there is going to be a updated public demo after we've finished The Great Rework™, if you wish to wait for that. You can, alternatively, set aside 10 dollars and pledge for just one month when we're releasing an a new playable build if you want as well.

Also, we'll have to decline the lump sum offer, my apologies.

Figure I would give this thing a shot seeing as it's supposed to be final public beta and all.

Am I completely braindead right now, or is there nowhere to go after I get the blaster? There are 2 doors that all lead to dead ends and a third one that's blocked by... a missing texture? There are all these ledges that are just out of reach of the regular jump.

Ignoring the path to the left that leads to the teleporters here, obviously.

Tried searching the thread, but it's gotten ridiculously long and ulmf's search function is total and utter garbage.

This is me going out on a limb here, as it's been super long since I myself played the last public beta (sidenote, a new public version will be released in the future with a lot of updated content), but I know there are some ground tiles that are a different color than the others, and can be shot by the blaster and destroyed, allowing you to drop down into more of the room.
