I'm currently working on a small side project so that I can test having a translator for small amounts of in-game dialogue. With my other game, I'm a bit hesitant to have so much of it revolve around text when I don't even know if it'll be reliable.

That being said, on to what I'm working on. Unlike previous games I'm focusing more on the H side of things, and basically doing all the enemies and H animations before I even touch the gameplay. I essentially created the player character and a list of enemies, and I'm going from there.

Which brings me to my question. As you can see, I'm once again stuck at the age old question of "what hair color can I use that isn't red".

Depending on the contrast of whatever backgrounds you want to use, of course, I like the blue, but could see why, with a sky background, that'd be a poor choice

The backgrounds are going to be pretty simple. Sort of like Mario World. Backgrounds are less of an issue when sprites have black outlines though.

One way around clashing graphics is usually to do one before the other. In my case, the backgrounds tend to revolve around the player, so when I draw them I'll be choosing the colors based of the player's pallete.

I do like the cut of your jib though. And the lower-left of the one in the new palette.

I wanted to say "I'm curious about the brown haired version", but couldn't make myself leave it at just that, so this happened.



Just a visual experiment.

Centre left is the original brown. I realised that I messed up the adjustment intervals a little bit, but oh well.

I liked the original light blue one, but the brown hair ones do look pretty decent
as well. Too many decisions.......

i wish there was a method of choosing the colour like with particle effects (grey bits get coloured, and i wish you could keep it to just that bit)

Too many options... I wish I was more opinionated when it came to hair color, I like all the variations for different reasons -__-
At least I can still do all the animations without knowing the colors. It doesn't take long to swap them out.

At least I can still do all the animations without knowing the colors. It doesn't take long to swap them out.
why not just stick to your favourite redheads? i have a thing for them too, also glasses...love glasses

That would be quite impressive if somebody was able to pull that off , The most impressive pallet customization in a pixel art game that I've seen is probably "The King Of Fighters XIII". Others just have Precolored pallet swaps but in "The King Of Fighters XIII" you can change the skin,hair,various areas of clothing, accessories,eyes,trim,lips etc.... but it's not limitless there's only a couple to choose, it's still quite a bit compared to other games.

also, are you gonna up the hentai this time? i thought the eroico cgs were a bit tame... they didn't really have any spark of eroticism for me.

kurovadis cgs were great though

I suppose it will if I decide the game is on the same level or better than Eroico.
