Hello out there,

accessing the original garden site with the etc/hosts entry works like a charm... but... Registration still does not work. So for newbies like me, I can read the posts, but can't access anything else.

Any suggestions here?

I don't know what to say as we have not any news from the administrator since the site is reachable (there was not only a dns issue, even the IP was unreachable shortly).

The site is not in normal activity atm.

edit: it seems registration with gmail is possible

A lot of us are back in the main place because we have seen on different forums the wonderfull trick from FRX and we have updated our hosts file.
Now I think it's time to go one step beyond if we want to keep this place hidden...
You know what to do to update this hosts file, send PM to the peoples you know and trust to tell them how to do.
And delete the posts you may have made on the forums regarding the new way to access there (That's what I am am going to do for my own posts!)...

I hope you don't forget me...
I am waiting since shutdown Razl.....

I have curently access to the site by his IP, dunno how long it will remain.

edit : to access it as usual, you have to add the line in the hosts file of your system (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on windows OS )

ex:

you can find the IP of the site by google (search " 'sitename' IP ")

I'm not Hero, i'm just one of you that had the luck be successfull with a common IT trick. Sharing knowledge is just a common sense.
Keeping the comunity alive is the duty of all his members.

By this words i would to be thanksfull to all the ULMF' community members, moderators and admins. Whithout you, we'd certainly fallen in the Oblivion.

I hope this forum will not be spam with Garden users shortly. Meanwhile i thank you again.

I've rarely posted anywhere, so relatively unknown, but this close call has woken me up, so to speak. Looking forward to sharing some models, at least

Ok, I must be doing something wrong as well. Could someone please help with instructions.

I have windows 7, found the hosts file, edited with the IP, but do I put local host after it or the original url? Could I please have some PM help. Thankyou.

Yeah,man, same here. I used to share my models back here in ULMF if I recall. But at RazzleDazzle I was quiet and lurking like a damn troll. This woke me up too and I am looking forward to sharing my babes and their custom poses. Haven't tried FRX's trick and really won't, I'd rather be patient and keep working with what I got. Anyways, thanks to the ULMF gang for keeping us, really appreciate it. Take care,guys

I'm gettin' kinda used to sleeping under the bridge - not that I like it all that much; at least it's not too cold at night...not yet, anyway

thought I was gonna have to take a pre-employment physical to get on that Klub 70...would like to hear Oz' explanation...

what made the Garden and it's predecessor (ULMF last year) so EPICLY GREAT was how many new people were drawn in. I was able to post a few models and sound files along the way so I wasn't a total deadbeat, and those sites made it easy to post files...but the idea of making this some kind of exclusive "Klub" where only the chosen few belong kinda defeats the purpose of the whole thing...

and I certainly don't understand these DNS issues the Garden is having...thought that site was as immune as could be...how do you let yur Domain "expire"?

By the way, can't access that **********, either...hmmn
