Re: Atlantis

"I'll give you that. That's new." Sho draws in a breath and exhales, her cheeks puffing out as she does so. "Let's not share that. Not unless it's necessary." Especially since there was more to their family tree that, far as she knew, Cassie was unaware of and sharing that news would likely not be good.

"That," she says to Cassie's revelation at being a Nirrti trap, "is not new. At least it doesn't surprise me that she'd do something like that. I guess the question is whether or not she knew that from the get-go or if she just got lucky. Obviously, you either kept her out or you didn't remember yourself. Lucky us, because if Aya's powers are genetic, I'd hate to think what you'd have done to us if she'd tapped into them."

Re: Atlantis

To that Cassie shuddered visibly.

"The one you called Adria, think her power and multiply it by a thousand. They were intentionally sealed away in such a manner that I alone cannot access them without help from specific people, who I shall not name just in case. Even if Nirrti had managed to implant me, she could not have accessed my latent powers. My knowledge on the other hand ..."

Letting loose a sigh, she sat down.

"What I do remember is I was supposed to warn you of the impending Klarnell attacks, obviously too late for that now. In addition, Anubis was cast out by the others, but only half so. He's now something of a hybrid, trapped between your plane of existence and our own. There is a growing divide amongst us, one that I fear may cause a large enough rift to make all of us, both planes, vulnerable to the Klarnell. In addition, the Klarnell have discovered the existence of ascended beings, and learned that all Lanteans had the ability. They are using their captives in an attempt to learn how to ascend themselves. If they manage to, and in large numbers, we may not be able to stop them. As for Nirrti ... she was attempting to clone me when she realized she couldn't simply take my knowledge or powers for her own. Why she didn't directly take me as her host, I'm not sure, perhaps because when I first retook this form I was quite weak. What I do know is she was using those people on that planet for her experiments, trying to speed up their natural evolution. It was working too, another generation or two and she'd have had what she wanted. My arrival there, in conjunction with your own people ... it was fortunate to say the least. She tried to make me a bio-weapon to kill all of you, infected me with some sort of disease that killed the rest of the planet before my natural healing could cure me of it."

She paused, then looked at Sho and abruptly changed topics.

"So, Siphon truly had no memory of being among us, having been ascended, or of his time here in Atlantis? I remember when he and Aya were wed like it was yesterday, strange considering I can't remember anything else from that time."

Re: Atlantis

"Yeah, that's a good thing to keep packed away. And yes, you should keep that knowledge to yourself," Sho agrees. She'll move over and sit down next to the other woman. "We'll figure it out," she says of the Klarnell, "so don't beat yourself up over that. You were a little...distracted, to say the least." There is a bit of worry that crosses her face when it comes to talk about Ascension. Sho's gaze flicks over to Henry and it's fairly clear that something's running through her head. At the discussion of her being a host, Sho puts her attention back on Cassie. "Mystery for the ages, at least for the time being. Either that or she didn't know what she had, thankfully."

She respects the change in topics. "Well, that's one more you've got on him. Aya remembers it, I'm pretty sure, but a lot of Siphon's memories among your people are sealed up, kind of like yours. Maybe when things quiet down, you three can sit together and reminisce." She gives Cassie a smile. "I...have a call to make, given some of what you just shared. You two okay to keep poking around in here?" She glances between Henry and Cassie.

Re: Atlantis

Cassie nodded slowly.

"Considering he tried to use his ascended powers to wipe the Klarnell from existence, I'm not surprised. They were afraid he would try again. Looking at it now, he may have been right to do that, now though it would be impossible. I'll be fine, I'm sure there is more in this database that can help us, and perhaps return some of my memories to me. Hopefully something useful."

Henry nodded.

"We'll be fine. Go do what you need to do. If you are thinking of contacting Siphon, he's already by now gated to Mirton Six."

Re: Atlantis

"Can't say I'd have acted differently in his place, but then again, probably why I'll never make Ascension." Sho winks at Cassie with a bit of a grin on her face. "You two keep digging, then. I'll pass along some of the information, possibly to Julia, too, since she'll at least want something of an update. Here's hoping I can reach Siphon, though, and he won't be out of service range." She grins, giving a nod to Henry. There's a pause and she'll draw him aside after Cassie's gone back to the archives. "That holo...was it her parents in the image or her kids? Or husband and daughter? Last thing I need is that being a family tree and finding out there's a boy-Aya running around somewhere." She'll pause to get the translation, hopefully. "But, do us all a favor and steer her clear of family trees." Her voice drops to something softer. "Siphon and Aya had kids. And they were casualties of the war. She doesn't need that. Not right now."

Re: Atlantis

Henry shook his head as he spoke low.

"No, the two in the picture were Siphon and Aya, on their wedding day. I'll do what I can to steer her clear of finding that entry in the database, but you know her. If she wants in there, she'll find a way eventually. Though chances are, if she knows about his ascension issues, she knows about their kids too."

Re: Atlantis

"Still, no sense in dredging it up. They're her grandkids, after all." She gives him a pat on the arm. "I'm going to see about making that call. You two have fun in here." With that, she'll leave him and head for the gate room, intending to first put in a call to Peltas and then try and locate Siphon.

Re: Atlantis

"Agreed."

Once she made her way back to the gate, and established a wormhole with Peltas, she had Julia on the horn faster than she might have thought possible.

"Hello Sho, for the love of god, please tell me you're calling with good news and not more bad news?"

Re: Atlantis

"Well, it's not bad news. Why, is something going on?" She'll wait for Julia to dish before talking to her about what they've found out.

Re: Atlantis

"The Tollan were attacked by a Wraith ship, all indications are it was using Ori and Draque systems, and the Ion Cannons had little, if any effect on the hive. Siphon has gone off to where we found Vanessa, but a Tokra operative keeping tabs on the wraith there has gone missing, and we haven't heard back from Siphon, Ian and Vanessa yet. To top that all off, one of our teams encountered an anomaly on another planet that seems to be spitting out dinosaurs bigger than a T-Rex every few minutes, which you might imagine is causing problems on a populated world. Right now, we've got our hands full with plenty, and with the possibility of Anubis being in the mix ..."

Re: Atlantis

"Yeah, I'd say that's a handful. I won't keep you long, then. Turns out we were supposed to have an early warning on the Klarnell, but Nirrti kind of got in the way of that. We also have a, uh, even bigger reason," There's a pause. "Actually, let's just say this little social call of my and Henry's might be a little longer than we originally planned. We also managed to pick together that Anubis is a bigger problem than we might have had reported before and that the Klarnell are very interested in Lanteans. They think they can learn a thing or two from them. Enlightenment, if you will."

Re: Atlantis

Julia seemed to be shaking her head up until the last bit, at which point her gaze turned icy.

"Dear gods, if they manage to figure THAT out ... Well, just pray that Draven's find helps us out. Apparently the Ingrali found a Klarnell ship, intact, adrift in space. It seems there was, or may still be a sect of them opposed to open warfare who are open to a peaceful solution. From the sounds of it, they laced the ship with a virus designed to fly it right to us and give us the ship, and all the knowledge contained in it's databanks. If we can figure out their anomaly system, we might have a shot. Otherwise ... It doesn't look good."

Re: Atlantis

"Yeah, I'd rather not think about that either." There's a pause as she takes in the information about the ship. "Not to be a downer, hon, but my people have a saying. 'Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.' I would check this thing out and then double and triple check it until I were a hundred and ten percent sure that's what it's game plan is, because what better way to get the enemy to open it's doors to you than with a peace offering? Especially if Anubis and Nirrti are involved, not necessarily with the Klarnell, but just being on the field. Bioweaponry is one of their staples."

Re: Atlantis

"That's why it's been taken to a joint base in a remote area that isn't directly wired to us, or have a direct connection to us. In the event it is a trap, they won't get a damn thing. Maybe a handful of people, though I'd wager even the Klarnell will have issues with the Ingrali being what they are. Oh one more thing, is Cassie around you right now?"

"That's why I like you guys. You're even more paranoid than I am." Though Sho's grinning, there's a little bit of truth in her words. "She's in the Hall of Records and I'll be able to see if she comes in. What's up?

Re: Atlantis

For a brief moment a small smile crossed her lips before she was back to business.

"We took some DNA samples from Aya to ensure she wasn't carrying anything that might infect anyone down the road, and when we did our scans, we came across something rather interesting. Her DNA patterns are enough of a match to place her in the same relative family tree as Cassie. Not only that, but now that we know about Aya's powers, we checked the Mitochondrial samples as well, and discovered that although dormant, Cassie appears to have the potential to generate at least ten times the amount of Mitochondrial power as Aya does. Our chief medical officer believes Cassie somehow may be Aya's mother, which changes much of what we thought we knew of her. On top of that, our crews in Antarctica on Earth found a previously hidden chamber in the Ancient outpost there. There's one thing in particular that they found in there that I think will make even Siphon blink. They found a gate address, a single address with Earth's symbol as the point of origin, but it's unlike any address we've ever seen or used. Sho, it's a nine chevron address."

Re: Atlantis

"Got you beat on the first one, boss. Just didn't want to bring it up in mixed company, just in case. Cassie knows what she is. Found it poking through the archives. She just doesn't know who she is, so to speak. Figure it's better to let things come back to her gradually, like with Siphon. I just hope she doesn't have any fits like he does. The results could be disastrous, if she's as powerful as you claim. We're planning on keeping a close eye on her, don't worry. She frowns at this new development. "So, did they run out of numbers and have to start using the next area code?" Typical Sho quip. "What's that mean for us? New galaxy? New...anything?"

Re: Atlantis

"It would seem another galaxy, but extremely far out, much farther than we ever thought the Ancients traveled. We attempted to dial the gate, and it nearly blew out the power grid on our secondary city trying to draw so much power. Best as we can tell, it's going to draw the power of literally an entire planet's core to actually open a wormhole to wherever it leads. As you know, power needed increases in proportion to the distance transversed. Until now, a Z.P.M has always been enough. This though ... it's even farther out than the Ori Galaxy is, wherever it is. We're working on trying to determine exactly how much power will be needed to activate it, but so far, we're not having any luck."

Re: Atlantis

The play of expressions across Sho's face are quite enough at Julia's words. Nothing really needs to be said. When she finally finds the ability to talk again, it's preceded by a low whistle. "Or maybe we ought to try getting closer to the destination. Try it that way." She'll pause. "Or, well, we could always find a planet we don't like and use its core." She's not grinning. Not really.

Re: Atlantis

Julia thought a moment.

"We'll have to try a few areas then. We're still not sure in what general galactic direction we'd need to go. Eventually I may have Siphon look at the coordinates as well, he knows far more about the gateway systems the Ancients used than any of us, though if everything recently is any indication, it's no wonder he does if he helped design the damn things, or at least one set of them. Maybe he or Aya can help us figure out the direction to go in. Actually, now that I think of it, maybe Aya knows where it leads to."
