Re: Monster Girl Quest

Hi I'm a really huge fan Monster Girl Quest,I've played both part 1 & 2 and looking forward to 3.

I need some help finding the hotfix for New Game +,I've downloaded the New Game + Patch from the wiki site but hotfix isn't there,I've been searching all over for the hotfix but any download links I do find are removed,so I was hoping if anyone could give me the hotfix so I can play the game on New Game +.

Also when I play the side stories:Four Spirit's Rondo, Granberia & Tamamo Take Succubus Town, and Loving Gnome Lots, they give an error at certain points, does anyone know how to fix them?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Monster Girl Quest

I Need Help, Please
I had computer problems and lost my copy of "Monster Girl Quest". I need to get all the parts over again - in English versions. Can you all help me to get back what I have lost, please. I have read through this thread, and it seems that the links are pretty well lost since megaupload has been shut down. I really want to get this game again, with all necessary updates. I would also appreciate a copy of the complete saves, so that I don't have to replay every possibility all over again. I really like the game, but hopefully, not to that extreme. I also don't have premium access to sites, so please make the links accessible to me too.

I need the available English versions and the saves. Thank you all so much.

Re: Monster Girl Quest

There are still quite a few posts here with working save links. A quick google search will bring up torrents for both part 1 and 2, as well as an english patch. If torrents aren't your thing I could upload the games, but you have have to wait a few weeks until I can get a new laptop since the hinges on mine broke.

It's been deleted can someone repost it?
Google it yourself, you lazy-ass lurker.

Just kidding, .

Also, has been updated. Although it is nowhere near completion, the creator of this full game patch, c0var1ant, puts a lot of effort into this and it can only be recommended in my opinion.

Re: Monster Girl Quest

Can someone please help me?

-I've downloaded the mod,
-Copy and pasted it into the mod folder,
-Updated the list (aka added the name of the mods into the list)
-However when I try to run the side stories, a message in gibberish comes up and the game crashes.

Does this have something to do with my computer's Japanese translation or something?
Please give me advice, it'd be appreciated.

Which mod are you talking about?
Most likely it is an issue with the nscript.dat that came with Cecil's mod. Either that, or you are indeed talking about Cecil's mod and forgot to overwrite the origininal nscript.dat with the one included in the .rar file.

Re: Monster Girl Quest

For me the major letdown is the art style... I know that it is overused but I do believe that they'd better go for a "3DCustom Girl" style rather than a "Daz3D".

I've no problem with a battle system that it's not a "Slash Vs BattleFuck" one, like MGQ battle system is... I did find the whole matter a little silly, you know.
(I mean, just wearing a male chastity belt would render any hero pretty much invincible! :D ).

For me MGQ appeal was part in the story, stereotypical and yet appealing (with some unexpected "crowning moments"), and part in the... uh... "finishers" (and never ceases to amaze me the fact that masochism is not really my fetish).
Hi, everyone. I'm Rick, the senior developer at Ntelliware, the guys working on the Monster Girl Quest 3D adaptation. Just wanted to drop in and say hi and answer a few questions!

Actually, we did try to use the style of 3D Custom Girl (actually even ripped the models straight from the game), but it didn't look right, everything was out of proportion and nearly everyone who got to see it was horrified. Our fist attempt was to model everything to realistic proportions, but nobody liked it, it wasn't MGQ enough. Second was the 3D Custom Girl style. Then, we tried to go for a Zelda64 style (The Alice2 pic that Obsidian hated), and again nobody liked it. Then we came up with the idea of merging the styles together to create something cartoony but correctly proportioned, and almost everybody seemed to like it, so that became the final style template. (Screenshots available on our website, can't post them here because I can't post websites until 15 posts, which apparently includes images)

There is a "walk through" (no battles or enemies, basically a graphics test) demo of Succubus Village available for download on the website (ntelliware.com) if you would like to take a look. If you guys have any feedback on the project we'd love to hear it, because we want the fans to be happy of course.

Thanks for the direct reply, but as a general rule, remember that you cannot please everyone (so you'd better aim to please ME! :p).

Jokes aside, I will surely test your walk-through.

If you want to post link, you can do it as long they are not recognized as links... you know, like:
wwwDOTthisisnotalinkDOTcom

:D

ADDENDUM: ok, tested. The graphics run smoothly and the Succubus fountain is really nice. You used Unity3D, right? The skill menu is a nice touch.
I also saw what I believe is the "approved" Alice and I must say that she seems to me "right". Just make sure to implement her feature expressions: "sarcastic smile" and "you are SO gonna DIE evil glare".

Some issues:
1) Angel Halo should be a little more "imposing";
2) How are you going to manage the "skills": the character has to actually land them (could be pretty difficult in 3D) or they act like smart bombs, hitting everything in sight?
3) Luka's face is TOO serious for my taste, but if you are going down the "serious hero" way, you could use that scarf of him to cover his mouth and give him more "personality".

Re: Monster Girl Quest

Iron sights.

Just kidding, though I'd like to say that if I'd known that folks from Ntelliware are actually reading posts on this thread, I'd have put my criticism in a more professional way.
Also, graphics are probably not the most important aspect, albeit that some of the more freakish MGs can probably only be modeled via the "cartoonish" approach in order not to look ridiculous.
So maybe this project is not yet doomed after all ;)

One major aspect of the 3D game conversion however keeps bugging me - the fact that it is intended to add the h-content via a DLC patch (this part I do understand) so that in conclusion the h-scenes may appear after defeat (this part I do understand) while the battles themselves remain non-h (this part I do not). Maybe I am the only one that is concerned about this.
However story-wise I think that especially the non-vore MGs do not intend to injure the player e.g. Luka and thus just try to seduce him. Taking that seduction ability away from them means making them actually violent. Or maybe there is some other way of them fighting Luka besides the "conventional" one (punching, etc.) that escapes me?

No harm done with the criticism, trust me we got plenty of that at the beginning, and I admit it was well deserved. As for the H-scene areas you are confused about, you missed a few important aspects in the development. The MG will still be out to rape you, just without the DLC there will be no graphic displays of it.

For example, low level MG's will have a simple real time battle system. Some may try to hurt you (to make you unable to resist), while others just pounce on you, but whatever their strategy, if they defeat you, the death animation involves them pouncing on your helpless body as the screen fades out. Without the DLC, everybody is clothed. With the DLC, well you get the idea.

Mid level MG will be similar, but the combat will be a real time turn based system, and the MG will be unique and more detailed graphically. These will be the important but not boss MG from MGQ, like the prostitute in Succubus Village. When fighting a mid level, having the DLC will unlock a few more intimate animations during the fight, and afterwards of course.

Boss level MG will be completely old-school turn based with pre-rendered videos of each attack. With the DLC, we simply use different videos. This way, every attack with a boss level enemy is altered to fit the H-scene style.

The whole idea is that monsters are all born female, so they need to mate with humans to survive (adds to the coexistence idea). However not enough men were willing so it has become commonplace for monsters to just out right rape humans. This allows us to keep the story focused around the H-scenes, and keep the H-scenes in the battles. and just cover them up for those who don't want to see them.

So in short, you've got it backwards. We're not making a non-hentai version of MGQ and adding the H-scenes with a DLC, we're making a hentai version of MGQ but covering it up so that the DLC unlocks the good stuff. The main reason we are hiding the h-scenes is because we plan to run a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to help with making the game, and you can't campaign for pornographic games on Kickstarter. So the logical conclusion was to hide the H-scenes, that way we can launch the campaign and also so that gamers who aren't into the H-scenes can enjoy it, but then release a DLC to unlock the H-scenes for those who want to.

And to Crossbow, a run feature will be implemented.

And to Perbert: Alice will have the correct facial expressions when it's all said and done. Wouldn't be right any other way. Angel Halo is a WIP at the moment and isn't high on the priority list, just something we plan to tinker with in our spare time. As far as managing skills, you'll see once the combat prototype is finished. The Succubus Village demo is a WIP to become a combat prototype so everyone can see how the battle mechanics work (we get alot of questions about that aspect, what better way to answer them than to just show everyone). And Luka's face, that's a nver ending battle, lol. Like you said, can't please everybody. After the combat prototype is in its alpha release stage, we plan to take a few suggestions on his face.

To clarify, does this mean that you're rewriting the story? Everything that you say does apply to the translation that we all have, but the tone seems to suggest a rewrite.

I'm not bothered one way or the other, regardless. As much as I loved the story behind MGQ, if you have to make alterations to fit your mechanics then it's just what you have to do; we're using a translation anyway, which always results in some amount of altered meaning (although the translator has been truly excellent), so the, uh, "sanctity" of original content isn't really there to be preserved anyway. I'd just like some clarity on this so we know what exactly it is that you're working on.

Haven't looked at the links etc yet, but it sounds like an amazing idea!

It will be as close to the original as possible as far as the story goes. The dialogues and plot will be virtually identical. There will be a few minor alterations, like the above excerpt which is necessary for the game to make sense if someone doesn't unlock the H-scenes. There will also be additions to reflect your choices, such as multiple endings, or if you do too many things that piss Alice off (like sleeping with the robot girl in Grangold, or not buying her the ribbon), you will lose the ability to pursue a relationship with her, and possibly lose the ability to not kill her in the ending. (Gotta make it interesting). The ending itself is being expanded upon, adding some chest pounding emotion to it, making it more climactic. Basically if you get the good ending you get to see the peace between humans and monsters take place, and then it is the humans of Ilias Cruze (Including Lazerus) and the monsters fighting side by side against Ilias's army. I know, leaves alot of plot holes without knowing how events will lead to it, but believe me when I say it will all work out, and you are going to like it.

Re: Monster Girl Quest

I read about the reasons that pushed you to make this game, and are the same that made you choose to make it non hentai.
I can understand those reasons but none the less I feel a non Hentai Monster girl quest loses most of it's charm.
And no, I'm not strictly talking about "fappability". Just that is a kind of setting and story that works on the premise to be Really explicit.
I read you want to keep the general notion that monster girls are somewhat sexually imposing and out to rape the humans but still... for example, one thing is to tell me that if the big zombie girl beats me she will rape me and I will be forced to be raped by a dead girl for an entire year.
Another thing is to actually see the miserable state of luka after that kind of treatment. The contrast between the philosofical horror of being raped by an undead and the objective fact that... she is Made for giving unbearable pleasure by design, and no matter what you do to resist that, you are going to succumb eventually.

I feel that to take that away from the game would be something like a remake of nightmare on Elm Street where you don't see any actual nightmare scene, you are just told that there is a dead psycho who can kill you in your dreams and you see people that falls asleep and dies in a mysterious way.

Then again, you plan to make a hentai DLC with the sex scenes. I fear that would do very little to bring back what MGQ is all about.
Because all in all you take a game about seduction and turn it in a game about brute physical confrontation with a game over rape, and I have nothing against game over Rape games, but the beauty of MGQ is that sex is a weapon. a deadly one.
Is a strugle against temptation more than it is a physical struggle. Actually, there are very few enemies based on pure physical aggression.

As much as I would like to see your final results I wonder if you would do a better job doing either a game with no monster girls and no sex involved that takes inspiration from the various plot hooks you find interesting in the game or a full fledged rendition of MGQ 3d based on explicit sex as it is meant to be.
I would probably play them both instead of a shaky middle ground.
