Re: Monster Girl Quest

The demo for Camel's mod is out now. It can be found here:

ux[dot]getuploader[dot]com/mon_mod/download/204/%E5%A5%B3%E9%A8%8E%E5%A3%AB%E3%82%BB%E3%82%B7%E3%83%AB%E3%81%AE%E5%86%92%E9%99%BA.zip

Since it's a demo a lot of the text is missing and some of the scenarios don't even work. The full mod will be out sometime later and will supposedly be much larger.

Correction. Apparently the english patch is corrupting the mod. I'm getting reports that unpatched versions can play through the scenarios without issue.

Re: Monster Girl Quest

The link doesn't work.......
Edit: Nevermind got it to work. It kept sending me to 404 errors before but after trying a few times finally worked.
Edit 2: Okay so tried the mod and it doesn't seem to work all that well. I can't fight in the first or last battle and the 2nd battle crashes when I lose. Is anyone else having issues with the mod?

Re: Monster Girl Quest

I can't get the mod to load properly. It keeps saying it can't use files (usually images) to load the scenarios. I think I messed up installing it or didn't patch it right?

If someone can throw me a bone here, I might be able to get this translated since there isn't much text in it (but I can't check my work if I can't load it).

Edit: wowz I'm an idiot. I didn't realize custom scenarios only worked for the second chapter and onward. I was trying to play them in an updated version of the first chapter...I'll begin testing translations Wednesday.

Re: Monster Girl Quest

In the mean time, I guess one can look at the pictures in the .rar. It's indeed nothing but vore so far along with some form of unbirth/corruption?

Alma Elma is indeed present, but no actual scenes with her to speak of as of yet.

Speaking of this, there's an extra battle in the Monsterpedia with this. You need to unlock every rape scene in chapter two, leave the monsterpedia, and go back in. There should be a new ??? at the end of list, which you can then click on.

It's surprisingly hard.

do you have to have both 1 and 2 combined in order for this to work?

No, you just have to view every H-Scene with all the monsters from part 2, and the ??? should appear under Ilias in the Monsterpedia. It took me a few tries, and a couple restarts, but it eventually appeared.

To specify this: You don't need to have taken every skill. Having encountered every Monster Girl and seen every rape scene will give you the "Part 2 Monsterpedia Complete" entry in the "Records" section - that's the trigger for the "???" to appear. After one restart.

Looking forward to it, just been checking on the art and I'm totally digging the moth girls. I take it the add-on works like the normal side-story stuff installation-wise, or is it something separate?

The add-on is just like other bonus content that people have already released for the game. That means you need both games installed together (from what I understand) and then to put the files form this mod in the 'mod' folder.

The translation is just about done (this is easy stuff here for the most part, basic battle lines are done, part of the moth's extra scenes and most of the strictly story stuff I'm still working on) but there's an issue with the text itself. Just going at it and replacing Japanese with English directly caused some problems more serious than I expected, including crashes, but I think I can still work around it. At least I hope so. I've already got two fan translation projects held up because of technical limitations, I would really like for this one to work out pretty easily...

Edit: Okay, looks like we're good with this. Let me change the rest of the text to something compatible, then I'll need to run a spell check and make sure none of the lines run outside of the windows in the game (since this will cause a crash) and we'll be done.

Edit2: Okay cleaning this up is a more time-consuming process than I originally thought. Anyway, here is a little something for everyone: the first three fights from the Cecille chapter, translated. I ran through them to check, and they should play without any problems, but there may be typos and such here and there. Also, I gave up on translating sound effects after a while...they just enter the realm of silliness which made it hard to focus on the rest of it. The pre-fight dialogue, all quips during battle, post-battle events and even Alma Elma's post battle evaluation are all translated for these. What is NOT translated is anything the game has by default: this includes commands and skills when you are picking from the menu, so try to be familiar with the original game at least a little bit (other basic messages are not translated, such as [monster] appeared! and such, because Rogue is an awesome man, and hopefully they can fix the main translation to work with these extra scenarios). For the first three fights, though, you honestly only need the healing skill, and it's the one that costs 3 SP. All your damage can be done with normal attacks. The boss has a lot more to translate since it has extra scenes, and then there's the general story of this scenario, so as before, I still have that to work on. The next patch from me will have everything I can do, done, and more attention to detail on grammar and spelling.

tl;dr: Translation patch for Camel's mod!

All these are, are heavily modified versions of the story script files. There's one for each event (so 3 for the first three fights), and each one has the name of the folder it goes in, in parentheses. Once you have each one moved into the correct folder, edit the part in parentheses out of the filename (this will overwrite the default scripts, so you may want to back those up just in case). Once they are in place, boot up MonMusu Quest and have fun.

Re: Monster Girl Quest

Are the mods just in the Extras? Or are they a part of the normal game?

Re: Monster Girl Quest

The mods are in the extras menu (2nd option up from the bottom on the main screen). Once in the extras menu, bonus fights are listed in the fifth option down from the top (above auto save data if you can read katakana).

Re: Monster Girl Quest

Ah you just put on the translation.

Is it possible to share it somewhere that doesn't ask you to sign up?

Also, that secret battle with the ???. I have "Second Chapter Monsterpedia Complete", but I can't make it show up even after a lot of restarts.

Make sure you have all monsters and rapes from part 2, then check records. Should show up then.

Re: Monster Girl Quest

It's definitely a good start, there's not much in the way of translated or english stories at the moment. I'm guessing that with files and sources being renamed in Rogue's translation, there might be some bits in the other two stories that rely on said them.

It looks like the kind of error you get when you don't have both games installed. For clarification, I have both games in the same folder. What I did was take all the contents of the second game, and copy and paste them into the folder with the first game. Except for the .exe used to launch the game, I overwrote files anytime I got conflicts, though I have all the files from both backed up. Also, make sure you have both patches for the second game, just to be certain.

I'm pretty much willing to put it up wherever. In fact, I'd love to find a site that didn't require me to sign up for it either. Times are tough after the loss of a large percentage of file hosting. Post, or better yet pm me a better site for uploading stuff, especially small files like this, and I'll check it out.

Any help with this:

I've had that problem with Harpy Sisters, before you meet Sara and the Suck vore. this is when i tried merging part 1 and 2 together, now I can't even progress through the story. And yes I've been posting on the Monstergirl site saying the same problem.

Now Stiltzkinator when you say "I have both games in the same folder. What I did was take all the contents of the second game, and copy and paste them into the folder with the first game. Except for the .exe used to launch the game, I overwrote files anytime I got conflicts, though I have all the files from both backed up." you don't have any errors what so ever? Does this way also work for putting all files from part one into part 2? Cuse I tried roughs way of doing it and I get the errors i stated.

The order is very important. Chapter 2 has a lot of unique files compared to chapter 1 that don't cause any trouble, but the files that overlap, chapter 2's files are updated. That means you want to have chapter 1 as your base, and move chapter 2 into, overwriting anything that's outdated. I did this first, and then patched, and haven't had any trouble yet. Granted, I've only really been working on Cecille's chapter, so I don't know if that causes problems with other extra content.

Technically, you could use chapter 2 as the base, copy chapter 1 into that folder, and just deny the files every time there is a conflict, but it's easier to make a mistake that way. Basically, you want the newest version available of every single file. Hope that helps.
