Re: Fairy Fighting
Alright, look. No-one here is trying to ruin ULMF's identity, and on that front I think your overreacting a little. We were always known for

Ah ULMF. The only forum I know that essentially has ADHD.
and no amount of complaining is ever going to change that. Also, certainly we are not idiots, but even intelligent people enjoy this kind of thing sometimes. Y'know, just because we're smart, doesn't mean we ALWAYS stay on topic, or that we ALWAYS think out our responses.
Coming back to the first point, I really think you're overreacting on the whole "it's people like you that are ruining ULMF". As I said, we aren't doing anything that bad, but more notably, even if we were, it generally takes more than one thread to kill a forum. Certainly we have recieved an amount of spam lately, making the better threads harder to find, but it would take our contributing members spamming to actually affect our image significantly. Sure we could always block out the spammers, or the people who just post vanilla, but they aren't doing enough damage to be worth it anyway.
Basically, this one thread isn't gonna change anything, especially not with the "vanilla flood" as I call it.
Secondly, who said we
had to think out anything anyway? We do because we like to, not because anyone tells us. Ergo, we don't have to, and we don't always
want to anyway, so sometimes we go off on a tangent like this thread and just have some mindless fun. It lasts a while, then we eventually get back on topic and things resume the way they were before. Commenting on the process and complaining about it isn't going to achieve anything but a few angry posts, things said in haste and maybe a ban or two. None of which would be very productive, wouldn't you agree?
So basically, sometimes we make a roller coaster, and you're best off sitting back and enjoying the ride while it lasts.
If you don't want to read the whole rant, then here's the short version;
One thread like this isn't going to ruin our identity, especially not with all this other "vanilla" crap, and we have a tendency to go off topic mindlessly; it's who we are.
Sit back, shut up, and enjoy the ride.
