Re: Games Discussion Thread

Dude its not that hard. Seriously. Just keep moving and keep your ears and eyes open. I can get through a hard game up till maybe wave 8 on solo, so it IS fully possible. Also, a more recent gripe with Killing Floor, The fuckers who foudn out about the Dong bell climb-up glitch in Abusement park who abuse the shit out of it just to survive. Fucking Skill-less Pussies.
That was on normal, with level 0 classes, the first time I played it. Now, I can play on Normal fairly easily, and I can go through beginner on any level. Unless the game crashes.

..............Strange. I just play whatever class that uses shotguns and charge around blowing shit in half with said weapon...................Works perfectly well for me, so why change a winning formula?

and i run around with a fireaxe found in almost every level in certain locations of maps for the beserker, and chop shit in half. Weird that this is hard, right?

Oh that just BREAKS the game. Until about Hell on earth Difficulty. Then the Patriarch Just Giggles at the pipebombs pain. In fact..ive yet to take that fucker down on HoE, especially when we all were demos and just grenaded the living shit out of him. West London too. He is so Fucking Beast on HoE difficulty. If you can best him, Good god damn job. Seriously.

Never got a chance to try the HoE difficulty, but I'd assume a good mix would fare better than all demos. Medic for healing, Firebug for DoT (seriously, that DoT is a god-send)/DPS, Sharpshooter/Support and Demolition for burst damage, and Commando for DPS.
For the 6th member..... Go with what your group needs.

Berserker..... As much as I love the class, you have to get up close and personal to be your most effective. I mean, if you know you can dance around the boss all day, go ahead, otherwise I'd suggest against it.
Of course, this only applies to the boss. Up until then, go crazy with it all you like. This perk makes all but the Patriarch look wimpy as hell, IMO.

Nice haul. Shame I didn't get my lawnmowing money in, though I did get a prize off that golden ticket thing for a wishlist game of mine: A.R.E.S. Definatly next on the list of buy as soon as dad stops being lazy and transfers the funds over.

RK did gift me Magicka during it though, so it kinda counts.

I picked up Magicka and the C&C titles. I pretty much already had or didn't care about everything else.

Same here, half the sales were over shit i already have, and a few over less desirable titles. I was rather dissapointed the sale ended so fast, and didnt Rinse-Repeat like last years did, but oh well. I Got Never winter nights 2 platinum edition, Just Cause 2, C&C4, Some more Sam and max, and i got Prince of persia, the newer one, Sands of time (I never got into the prince of persia series) and i also got DLC for new vegas since it was 75% off too.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I have recently gotten an urge to play ok'd Playstation 1 games, three in specific, and have looked online but am unsure about eBay and the ones I have found on Amazon are pretty costly. So I have thought about an emulator, I am wondering if they are trustworthy, or work better on certain OS'es then others or how mug space would be neccesary, so I anyone has any knowledge or input about the subject I would appreciate to hear what you say. Thanks in advance.

For emulation, id suggest . As for where to get the games to play on it, You're gunna have to look yourself, its not proper to give out links and such for the games. Im sure rom in google will do the job or ISO in google with the game name.

A zombie game being made. Sounds like it'll be decent.
Still in extremely early stages of development but might be worth keeping an eye on.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Any of y'all tried the Catherine demo yet? Downloaded it a couple days ago and just tried it tonight. It's very short. Or, well, I suppose it can be very short if you don't keep having to do the one dungeon over and over and over again like I did. (And if what I've seen is to be believed, it's only the second dungeon in the game *thud*) The *story* seems interesting enough, but gameplay is part...I'm guessing Persona-like social interactions (I've never played any of them yet, so I can't say) and part...puzzle-platformer. I found the controls to be a little twitchy during that portion, which made it very difficult at times. Pretty game, too. Cross between anime cutscenes and cel-shading stuff. The main character kind of bugs me, though. It's his eyes. They weird me out. They go lazy at times and it just makes me want to cringe.

Also, only demo (or game, really) where I've heard the phrase "Shut your lying whore mouth!"

Dunnae think I'll be getting it, but would like to see other's thoughts on it, if y'all have some.

As I told someone else who liked to post half hour to hour long videos as the basis of their opinion... sum it up.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

My thoughts are "I want. But I cant' have."

I'm not even going to do the demo, because... well, I can't connect to XBL is probably the biggest reason. But even if I could, lack of Aus release due to our censorship board makes me a sad Inky. And region locking screws over any chance of a private import.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Too lazy to go check wiki/google/etc., and I'm sure there's a reason for why regional locking was put into place to begin with (PAL/NTSC), but I coulda sworn that games are able to be made region-free these days.
So it confuses me as to why companies would still do that to people.
Do they not like money, or something (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, NINTENDO - FUCK YOU, YOU GOD DAMNED WHORE)? Or is it really difficult?
EDIT: And if it has to do with the laws in certain countries, pretty sure you can disable/enable features based on region, so that's not a fucking excuse.
