looking at the new characters Al and Bell reminds me of the old concept art of Abel from Street Fighter 4. The name makes it seem that it could be more than coincidence...

There is now a new trailer video available to the public. It mostly showcases the new characters. Obviously since it is also on Youtube, there is not much H-content in the trailer.

The fighting looks very similar to the first game.

@cakeisxxx: That's very possible. From what little I can read of the Studio S blog, they seem to be big Street Fighter fans.

Hahahaha oh my god, that trailer is awesome.

I am abysmal at fighting games, but with block-Mari, a character based entirely on niconico/the internet, an otaku wearing a picture of the character based entirely on niconico/the internet, and a fuckin' badass judololi, there's no way for me not to like this.

Hmm....Seems they're also drawing from Street Fighter knock-offs.

Specifically, the new girl Ran, who looks, fights, and even has the same victory pose as Ranmaru from Battle Master on the Snes.

Which is fine.

OMG, you're right! I originally thought she resembled Mai, but Ran is totally based on Ranmaru. Battle Master is a pretty obscure game reference nowadays.

I'm still trying to figure out which character, if any, inspired Sayaka.

Well, one of her supers looks ripped from Kohryu of Bloody Roar (the shadow-image beatdown), but beyond that....I'd have to hunt down and play BR 3 or 4 to see if anything else was copied. I could be wrong of course, shadow-image beatdowns aren't exclusive to him...

Also reminds me of Morrigan from Darkstalkers. This game is packed full of little references.

Well, yes I did forget about Uranus' (even more surprising since I played her an awful lot on BR3....kick, kicking my way to victory.), however, it's the sequence of attacks in the super that made me think Kohryu.

Lol, there games aren't really THAT hardcore lulz. But i can understand why some might not want all the blood and whatnot.


Stripfighter is a remake of streetfighter with all women pretty much. I mean from that one youtube flick, you can see Ryu, mai, sakura, and guile already lol.

Edit: Also, no one uploaded SF4 i see.

Here's hoping the controls for this new one are more like in BS Fantasia than in BS... maybe it's just lack of experience in the genre, but after having fought against the controls in BS, Fantasia's wonderfully simple control system was joyous.

as far as I know you need Jpn Locale (region) when unrar and playing (I could be wrong though)

LOL. Sorry, wasn't referring to the new one. Meant the previous one.

And that's also what I meant by 'pseudo' sequel. They basically took the original six characters, added in two more, and threw in their own stylings.

yes, they don't look the same (Bella in particular, who wasn't a loli in the TG16 version.), and the gameplay was lifted wholesale from street fighter.
