Re: Club Grounds

Ellisia lately had taken an interest in training with the single edged variety of swords, as well as the unarmed Earth martial arts. She normally focused on double edges like her own, but had found the majority of students in the club were more interested in this worlds eastern varieties of weapon. She'd learned this was generally down to the origins of the common martial arts the students brought to the club. She thought it a shame that there were no official tutors here for her to get a more genuine understanding of Earths arts, but regardless many of the students here brought a lot of interesting styles to share with the club. It was a real mash up of technique and skill level, but everyone got a chance to learn something new from the other members. Most were fairly timid about getting hurt, but the nature of the club even as basic as it was, felt very natural to her. She'd so far gained a small bit of fame within the club as the girl unbeatable with a sword, and had accidentally got a fair few members picking up bokkens (wooden katana style training swords) to try out themselves.

Entering the club Ellisia set down her encased sword in the corner as usual and went to collect one of the clubs well worn bokkens, though none of her usual sparring partners were present at the club right now. Her attention was fairly quickly drawn to Siphon and his unfortunate punch bag. "Hello again." Ellisa greets walking over to the adjacent punch bag, "You pack quite a punch. It's a shame they don't have the appropriate dummies here for weapon based practice." She says putting the bokken aside for a moment to have a go at the punch bag for a while. While far from the force Siphon was putting out, the bag was getting a respectable beating considering her lesser frame.

Re: Club Grounds

Jackson walked about the club area for a short time getting a feel for the place. He hadn't be able to to sign up for a club due to him being late to the school and such but lucky of him someone in the administrator building was willing to put him in the music club due to events beyond his control. But it did come with a warning that anything missing from the room would be seen a something due to him. Seemed he was the only once that wanted to be in the club but they did give little over a week for students to drop or add clubs.

As Jackson found the room for the music club room with a note thumb tacked to door. He had been told the room would be closed so he would have to wait for someone to come to unlock it for him. But Jackson wasn't the type to wait around. Grabbing the door handle he stops to look around looking for anyone in sight. Happy with one around... at least not around him, he uses his power to feel the inside of the lock and slide the pins about in side of it to unlock the door. It took no more and a few seconds. Look about again he pulls off the note and opens the door and enters.

The room was set up with rising set of levels like an orchestra showing it was at least built for an real music room. He saw a room in the back corner which held all the instrument. Picking that lock would more then likely would tip anyone he was something like a no good thief or something.

A woman entered shortly surprised to see Jackson sitting on the first level.

"The door was unlocked." He said with a confused look. Trying to keep a straight face when lying took some time for him to get useful at first but he had gotten a hang of it.

The woman opened the back room and told everything he would have know. None of it mattered as he grabbed an Acoustic Guitar and stepped back out to the lowest level to tune the guitar.

"I'll be back in an hour or two to lock the guitar back up." She said trying to sound happy. She quickly left off to do whatever she had been doing before having to run this little side job.

Cougar didn't notice her leave as he was to focused on tuning the guitar. He stopped every so often to scratched as the side of his face or his forearm. It had started to become too much to just put in out of his mind anymore. But as he finished on tuning his instrument, he started to put it out of his mind again.

He started to strum the stings to make sure it was tuned the way he wanted. Happy with tuning he started to strum the lead guitar from "Hallowed be thy Name" by Iron Maiden. The sound would echo out of the room and would reach most of the others rooms but with the doors closed only those close to the doors or with better then average hearing would be able to pick up the melody.

Re: Club Grounds

Siphon blinked in mid punch, surprised. Surely he wasn't hitting the bag THAT hard was he?

THUMP!

Well that answered that. He sure as hell was, and Elissia had seen it. Well ... it wasn't so bad, she knew already something was off about him and that he wasn't entirely natural, though he couldn't recall exactly how much information they had exchanged with each other about themselves.

Thump!

That was more like it. Now it seemed more reasonable his hitting the bag, and he paused for now, talking with her.

"Ah, yeah, sometimes I get a little carried away you know? Works off some steam though and loosens the muscles. Good to see you again too, how'd your day go?"

He let his mind think momentarily about what she'd said, about the proper kinds of dummies. While it was true he could probably fix something up that would work quite well, explaining exactly how he'd made it without tipping his hand on his ... abnormal abilities would be next to impossible to manage should anyone who didn't already know of him find out.

Meanwhile, Aya had entered the designated room for the tea club, though she hadn't a clue as to what the hell she was supposed to do. It didn't help that it looked like she was the first to arrive ....

Re: Club Grounds

((I've been wondering whether to have it that Siphon and Ellisia still generally know each other and their origins/identity. Not in full detail, but at least as much as we'd previously had them discuss before. They either go on unaware, or we're forced to go through the same discussions again should their identity be shared at some point. Both of those seem a little dull. What are your thoughts?))

"I like to do the same to wind down. I've been good. Mostly business as usual. Classes have been fine, though I actually got scolded during PE for apparently performing the high jump 'incorrectly'."
Ellisia says with a smiling sigh. "I'm quite capable of not harming my self while dropping a mere meter or two onto a padded mat. But you know, rules are rules I guess."

While Ellisia didn't say this, she'd also been finding RE awkward to sit through. All worlds had their own beliefs, and she could easily accept and take an observers interest in that. But it was the manner that for most students here spiritual matters were generally regarded as superstition or something specifically related to a certain faith that bothered her. The class was tacked on almost as an extra, and few seemed to take it seriously. In her world the workings of the spirit were taught as its very own category of science alongside the three core sciences recognised here. It was considered a vital subject. She couldn't help but feel these people were missing something important.

*Thump, thump, thu-THUMP!*

Kicks are added at the appropriate moment to deliver a lot more into the bag.

Re: Club Grounds

((I think we could leave them as knowing what we previously had discussed, though I may have to refresh memory on exactly what we talked about.))

Siphon chuckled slightly.

"Your not the only one who got yelled at for doing that incorrectly. I suppose yeah, rules are rules, though sometimes it's hard to grasp exactly what those encompass."

It seemed that there was something she wasn't adding there, something that was bothering her, but Siphon was too respectful to have ever brought it up unless he believed it was going to be harmful. This didn't have that feeling to it, and so he let it slide, though for a brief moment she might have caught a hint of recognition in his eyes that he knew something was up.

Had he known exactly what it was bothering her, he likely would have felt compelled to let her in on the secrets of Kelnoriim, a form of meditation. For him, it was more than just a choice. It was in fact REQUIRED for him in order to survive and stay healthy.

Nevertheless, they were still the only two people there.

"Slow afternoon today huh? We're the only ones here. Strange, there were a lot more people when you did the sword show. OH, speaking of which..."

He withdrew a picture from a bag he'd carefully placed, then turned to show her.

"This is one of two identical swords I have that I used to use quite a bit when I was ... younger."

He had to stifle a laugh, the term younger being very much a joke with him considering the fact he hadn't been 'young' by their terms in a very long time.

(( Basically think of this sword, but engraved with Ancient symbols, runes even. If he's taught her or she's seen the writing before then she'll recognize it as Alveran.))

Re: Club Grounds

((Oops. Realised I never specified that Simon has left. Because he has. That is all.))

"Hmm, yeah I'm not sure where they've got to. Just taking a day off the bruises and getting thrown about I imagine." She says pausing to receive the picture. "It's beautiful. While it's never been my preferred style, I've always admired the motions of a pair of twin blades. Is that Alveran there? Does it mean anything specific?"

Re: Club Grounds

Siphon nodded.

"Yes, it's Alveran, and as for what it means ..."

He trailed off for a moment, seeming to recall something. From the look in his eyes, it might be a bittersweet thing from his past. When he finally spoke, it was with just a hint of memory to his voice, almost missable.

"Kara Nightshade. I had my wife's name engraved to them along with a few spiritual runes. A shame she never got to see them."

It might take Elissia a moment to remember that his wife had been killed long before she had met him, a story he'd told her before, several months ago. If one looked hard enough at the runes too, they would now notice that they seemed to spell out the name 'Karavas Nimbrahtash.' It wouldn't take long to realize the name had in fact been carved out into the blade in the oldest dialect of Alveran, the same in which he had once accidently written something in last month when making a list for her.

Re: Club Grounds

((Forgot Ian was in tea.))

This was not going to be a fun session. Thankfully, the first few meetings were mostly just general information about the Tea club, discussions of what exactly it entailed, welcoming the new members and greeting the old ones. His headache had moderately subsided since lunch, but a few of his classes had helped keep it fresh and it had nothing to do with the itching.

Walking into the room, he found that the place wasn't unoccupied, though the folks that usually were earliest still hadn't arrived yet themselves. Knowing better than to startle the blonde waiting in the room, he cleared his throat.

"G'day, Aya."

Re: Club Grounds

Art wanders into the Cosplay Club, his itching having almost completely worn off now he only occasionally scratches when it gets too much for him. Noting the lack of students he makes his way to the other side before spotting Grace working busily on something. He then decides to make a beeline straight for her.

"Hey there, working on a costume?" He asks her, not remembering her name. After all, lots had happened between his brief meet with Grace and now.

---------------------

Isabella also made her way to the club grounds, though she stopped off at the Art Club. Pushing open the door she noticed that no one else was there and she sighs.

"Well....I've come this far.." She tells herself before slowly walking into the room. The room itself was fairly large, as is most art studio's, there were chairs aligned in a circular fashion looking towards the table that had a cloth draped over it, which Isabella assumed was for a model to sit on as the artists drew him or her. Walking around the room Isabella was surprised to find so many expert-level tools available for use, after all she had assumed the school would have tried to cut costs somewhere. Stopping at an easel that had a length of paper already attached to it she sits down and picks up a pencil. Placing it against the paper she starts to hastily sketch, though anyone who was watching her would notice that it was unlike the rough sketches most peole start out with, instead it was the start of a finished picture, the subject; herself.

Re: Club Grounds

Aya turned and smiled back at him.

"Thank god, I was beginning to think I was the only one who was going to show up. How's your day going?"

She seemed relieved to see him, that was for sure, and if not just a little happy too.

Re: Club Grounds

Jack had started to get tired of playing the guitar as the hour passed as no one else had entered the room. The woman from before entered both checking in on the young man and to lock the instrument back up. He started to pick up the things ha taken out of his pockets to make it easier to hold the instrument on his leg as he played. The woman passed him by as she started to move to the door but say his room key and it's bold numbering.

"OH... So you know the dean had something dropped off to that room." She said with smile. Jackson was a little taken back at the comment as it seemed to come from no where but he saw his key and knew that was how she knew his room.

"Any idea what was dropped off or who from?" He asked as he couldn't think of anything that might give him an idea what it might be.

"From what I saw on the box it look like it was from your parents." She answered still in a cheery voice and smile as Jack exited the room. After locking the room she gives him a small nod and leave to do whatever she had to do next.

What could it be? He questioned himself in his mind. But he was in no rush. He started to try get an idea what the other clubs. Lucky for him he saw a few of the rooms had a small window showing who or what might be inside.

He looked about seeing a few rooms full with people doing something to do along with room like the music club almost empty. He watched each room a bit just trying to get an idea if it's a place he felt like he was going to fit in or not.

This patten keep on going a bit as he passed the art clue room. He saw the back of Isabella working on something but he couldn't tell what. Being the only person he really in this place who's name he knew he was somewhat tempted to enter and hang out a bit but as he watched her arm moving he knew she was doing something important.

Keep testing yourself... and you'll go far. He thought to himself as walked past the room and start to head out to his room to finally unpack his thing and see what he go.

Re: Club Grounds

"Fair ta middlin'," is his reply as she asks how his day has been going. "Gettin' bettah, though." From his smile, it might just be the company that's helping with that. "And it is a bit odd, us being here before the senior membahs. They'll be along shortly, Ah'm sure. In the meantime, how was your day, darlin'?" He chuckles just a little, catching himself as the endearment slips. it's one he tends to use casually, but with Aya, he couldn't be too careful.

Re: Club Grounds

Between nerves and uncertainty, Trixie had of course forgotten the club until the last minute, and half-skided half-ran into the room. Close observers would note that she had forgon shoes, and for a split second, were her toes claws? Either way, panting, she called out, "I'm here! Sorry I's late!"

Re: Club Grounds

Aya smiled ever so slightly at the comment, a slight flush of red hitting her face for a brief moment before it faded.

"It's been pretty good, at least I know where all the classes are now!"

She grinned, then leaned back in her chair.

"I hope your right that the others will be here soon, otherwise this whole club will fall apart."

She then got a bit of a grin and decided to tease him just slightly.

"Of course, if that happens we both have a free spot in our time wouldn't we?"

"That's good. Some of the teachah's don't take 'Ah got lost' as a good excuse fer bein' late." He chuckles. "Even on the second day." He watches her, even as she just leans back casually, the action isn't lost on him. "Are ya sayin' ya don't mind spendin' free time with me, then?" He grins a little.

Another grin came from her as she nodded.

"Nope, free time is best spent with good friends rather than alone. And since we got to know each other fairly well last night ..."

She purposely trailed off, hiding a grin and letting his mind take that where he would.

He chuckles at that. "Moreso, Ah think, if someone hadn't been gettin' sleepy on me. Course, that kinda talk isn't fit for durin' tea. Afterwards, though..." He chuckles again, moving to take a seat near her while they wait for the rest of the members to filter in. "What made ya sign up fer tea, Aya?"

She waited until he was sitting before replying.

"Partially Sho's idea on another way to get accustomed to being here since as you know I'm not really used to a lot of people in one place. Actually her idea was for me to join any club, but after I found out Autumn and you were both going to be in this one I figured let me at least go to one where there are a couple familiar faces. Signed up for literary/book club too, did you?"

Sure Aya, and was only a small part regarding him huh? Yikes, better not think like that, might actually say it out loud and embarrass myself.

Re: Club Grounds

Ellisia passes back the picture. "I remember the name. People important to you are something you don't forget whether you measure your memory in years or millennia." Ellisia feels the sword spirit talking to her for a moment. "Honouring those that have left us is an Etheirian tradition as well. A simple name preserved in metal or stone can mean a lot to the right person. Sometimes I see memories and images of loved ones of the past knights that I share this spirit with. It's strange how I always feel like I knew each one of them personally."

----------------

"Hey hey." Grace casually replies. "Nah, it's gonna be a parachute. The janitor offered me sky diving lessons. It's black so it'll be hard to see in the night sky. Means y' get shot less he said." She says with a simple straight smile on her face.

Art stares at Grace for a moment, shocked that she's taking any kind of lesson from Matt.

"Uh...you sure thats a safe decision? The guy's kind of a nutjob." Art was about to explain as to how Matt is a nutjob when a very familiar voice calls out.

"Hey there," Art says to Trixie, if Grace was paying attention she'd notice that the tone of Art's voice sounded more caring. "And don't worry about it, I don't really have anything planned for today."
