While lurking around the Internets, I came across this German indie game - well, more of a visual novel - and I took it out for a test drive. I was so impressed that I thought I would start a thread about this game.

Official game website, a free Mega download of the latest version is on this page:

Apparently, this is a single person who is creating this game on weekends as a hobby. He has no Patreon page so your conscience ought to be okay with downloading it for free ;)

As far of the story goes, you are a interstellar prospector, scanning asteroid belts for valuable minerals. During another typical day, you discover a base for a civilization that has been destroyed over 50 years ago. No signs of life, but a female voice begs you for help...

Made in 3dUnity, the graphics are very well done. There is a little bit of combat which is turned based [Only two fights so far, and you really want to lose the second one in the maintenance bay ;)].

There is also a mini hacking game that'll test your binary mathematics. You need to be able to hack if you want to continue with the story. If you really get stuck on the hacking game, there is a shortcut to defeat the game that is mentioned in the comments on the game website.

I also enjoy the character development. I'd have to say it is right up there with some professionally created games games.

My only drawback is that I have found that some Unity games and my computer don't get along. I often will have the game freezing, so if you are having any problems like me, you are going to want to save often. After every conversation at least. I've tried dumbing down my visual preferences before the game loads, and I still had problems. I'm sure I need to learn more about controlling my graphics.

Please try it out and comment here!

PS Btw, the author admits his English is less then desired, so yes, the text is sloppy, but it is very understandable. Just humourous at times!

Really Cool Game,
Was confused by the hacking systems and the camera controls in combat are a bit weird.
Other then that, several hours of gameplay & really good quality at that.
All that and its just alpha. Can't wait to see more of this game in the future!

I found the easiest way to hack is to click on the two computer cores and don't even bother playing with the nodes. The value of the three bits are written right on the screen. All you have to do is add them to get your number. The amplitude and frequency route of the hacking game was more difficult to do imo.

It's binary so it's absurdly simple, just add the highest number until you exceed the number you're aiming for and then skip to the next, even without thinking about it at all you'll pass the minigame long before you get close to being detected.

I guess what my problem was even after reading help, I was kind of lost as to what to do, and I found just clicking on the cores was the fastest way for me to get the hacking done ;)

I thought the game was dropped, reading the title :D
Screenshots seems promising, I'm just not a fan of those kinky futuristic clothing I see there

Actually, the protagonist is a male space pilot. The screen shots are 1st person, as is most of the game. Scenes where you are directly involved with a heroine, and combat scenes, those will be 3rd person.

Is there a 32 bit executable version of the game available?

I downloaded and tried the game, but it seems to be a 64 bit executable. Unfortunately at this time I only have a 32 home computer.

Re: AATOFL (Abandoned: A Tale Of Forgotten Lives)

This game is pretty interesting. The turn-based combat really needs work though. The camera is horrible, it doesn't show the range of the weapons and the UI is generally user-unfriendly. It would just make more sense to use FPS combat, although the areas are a little too restricted and uninteresting for it to work decently.
There are a lot of minor annoyances like colliding with the NPCs (Almost got trapped in a bathroom), and performance is way worse than it could be. The dialog needs proof-reading by a native-level English speaker, and it could do with an objectives list cause I skipped most of the dialog - Which, annoyingly, skips the scenes too.
Still gonna be following this one though. Typically not a fan of male-PC hentai/porn games but in this case he's just some disembodied words most of the time. The mention of a hydroponics bay gives me hope that we'll see something other than vanilla and bondage.

There's literally no reason not to upgrade to 64-bit, especially if you have more than 3gb RAM - which if you're planning on playing this, you'll need.

Sweet 3D graphics so the game runs ok on 4 GB ram then, cause I was about to upgrade to 8 GB. So the MC is a female , sweet. Hope there's yuri and beastality.

You are right, this is definitely not a polished item, but I really like the concept, and I hope this has wheels.
With the getting trapped, especially when have both of them, I found jump to be handy.
Finally, as for the hydroponics bay, that hadn't really crossed my mind but I really like where you are going with that!

Umm no, the main/player char is male, the others are female. I wish it weren't the case, or that we had the option (though that'd require re-writing a lot of the dialog, plus a third model), but hey.

You don't need to spend a penny let alone buy a new computer to install a 64 bit version of windows.

Closer to two months since an update, and the last I heard is the next update will probably be an open sandbox so you can play with the two girls up to the current development. I keep checking everyday to see if there is something new! Thankfully I've got other games to try out!
