, creator of Lewdest Labyrinth, has published a demo for his next game. If you've been following his twitter, you've probably seen that his art has improved a lot since his last game. After playing it, I'm pretty sure this isn't a sequel to Lewdest Labyrinth, despite the title. The demo is free.Night Labyrinths is a turn based dungeon crawler with a mix of handmade and randomly generated dungeons. The night spawns monster filled labyrinths that manifest throughout the city, luring it's citizens into them. Your goal is to navigate each labyrinth to reach the staircase to the next floor, mystery dungeon style. The gameplay is very simple; Attack the enemy in front of you with the Z (or whatever you've bound as the confirm button) button until it dies. When enemies attack you, lewd cut-ins will sometimes appear, and their attacks will often inflict a status ailment. The most common one is lust, which raises your tension bar which makes you more vulnerable when it maxes out. The enemy variety is mostly tentacles and humans, with some other types of monsters, similar to his previous game. When you lose you're sent back to your home which acts like a hub area for you to purchase items to use on the next attempt. This game is a rogue-lite, so you lose your levels, skills and items whenever a run ends win or lose, but there are multiple ways to grow and gain more stats, so the game gets easier even when you lose. For example, when you map enough tiles during a run you gain a permanent bonus to HP as an exploration bonus. You can also purchase permanent stat upgrades from the shop once you unlock the upgrades by exploring.
The game has a skill system where enemies drop 3 random skills for you to acquire, adding some variety to runs. You can reroll the skills dropped for 100 dollars. There's also a system where the skills you find are either "normal" or "perverted/pink". The latter skill pool is accessed when your tension gets to 50 or higher. There are alternate modes planned that you access through the "preparation" menu in the home base. There are two modes now: Topless, and Panties. They change your default sprite, alter most enemy CGs, change your stat scaling as you level up, and lowers the tension threshold to switch to perverted skills.
The controls are as follows (These can be customized in the settings):
WASD - Movement
Q - Strafe Left
E - Strafe Right
X / Left Click - Attack / Confirm
Z - Wait / Cancel
Enter - Interact (doors, stairs)
Tab - Item Shortcut
ESC - Menu
Right click will also close menus
Gamepad controls are supported, please see the key config in game

After having played through the demo's content, I think it's looking pretty good. I may be a little biased since I was a fan of the first game.
V1 Update: Added an animated game over scene for each area, which is 2 for now. You can now select from 3 skills whenever one drops, and you can also change new settings: The lewd CGs can be made to stay on screen until the next button press, and you can make it so that items are picked up with Enter rather than automatically grabbing them. The new preparation option "Easy Access" alters the standing sprite and CGs, as well as changing 2 CGs to entirely new ones. Status ailments have been added and there's been some minor balancing of skills, enemies and items. And bug fixes, of course.
V2 Update: Removed the animated game over scenes for each area, which is 0 for now. The 3rd dungeon has been added. The final levels of the courtyard and sewer are now boss levels, which may require more critical thinking to defeat than just running up to the enemy and hitting it. Several enemies now spawn in an H variant that can cause a full screen H attack, kind of like a grab. This raises your tension by a large amount while showing several progressing CGs. The patch notes say there are 9 in the game right now. The skills have been changed/rebalanced and some new ones have been added. The rebalanced skills have a lower cap since the levels are also shorter now. The skill menu can be rerolled for money if you're looking for a specific skill. Skill type is now determined by tension level, switching to pink once it gets to 50/40/30. Collection items are now reoccurring stat pickups instead of single items. You can rerun levels to grow your stats infinitely, but the items become more scarce depending on how many you've already picked up from a specific dungeon. The shop's inventory is now more random, and there will always be 2 stat items to buy with your extra money. Enemies now have much more varied properties adding a lot of variety to gameplay and strategies. You can view these properties by pressing interact to bring up a new enemy info screen when facing them. Tile traps that you place last longer. The defense stat has been removed entirely, so the stats you have to manage are now attack, HP, crit, dodge, exp, and regen. Weapons got reworked and are more situational, promoting swapping more often (this doesn't use a turn).
Overall, the V2 update has rebalanced the whole game and having played it the gameplay feels a lot better. Hopefully with the gameplay fleshed out, all that's left is the content. But drawing things probably takes the longest.
