Not really keen on trying escaping now, with that maid and who knows what else wandering about this mansion, Byakuren sees it best to take up the book for awhile. She might be able to regain her magical focus and be able to defend herself with some effectiveness. Looking over the mountains of books, she finds most of them being books of magic and related things, like alchemy.
"If Patchouli wouldn't be so sickly, who knew how powerful she could be, with all this magical knowledge available to her..." Byakuren thinks as she grabs a random book from a shelf and sits down on a bookpile
A day and a night pass as Byakuren reads and sleeps in Patchouli's magic library. She meets a new person on the second day, Patchy's familiar Koakuma. This devilish girl is not that scary to behold, rather cute actually in her black dress. Double wings emerge from her body, the other pair from her back, and the other, much smaller pair from amongst her long red hair. Byakuren finds Koakuma similar to Patchouli in personality, except much more talkative than the taciturn head librarian. The silver-haired, slim-bodied maid also introduces herself as Sakuya Izayoi, the head maid of this place, the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Upon hearing that name, Byakuren remembers hearing about this place, a dark mansion that is the home of a terrible vampire.
As Sakuya brings out the daily tea to the librarian, she asks about this curious new taste. Upon hearing what it really is, Patchy looks at Byakuren with a curious look.
"So, you are one of THOSE kinds people..." Hearing the comment, Byakuren can almost see the comedic sweatdrop on Patchy's face.
"But your milk tastes really good. I'll have to ask Sakuya to get some more before you get kicked out, or whatever Remi decides to do." Still a bit uneasy about the Mistress and her terrible reputation, Byakuren carries on reading
Another day passes, and Byakuren starts to think about doing something else besides reading. Hearing Patchouli coughing again, she looks at the librarian
"Should I do something with her? Or just look around a bit?" she ponders
A. Grab Patchouli and take her outside
B. Just continue studying
C. Go and have a look at other areas in the Mansion

"This girl.. really needs to get out for once. This dusty place is not good for her health" Byakuren thinks as she sneaks up on Patchy. Snatching the librarian off from her chair, she gets a surprised "mukyu" from Patchouli. Holding Patchy in her arms, Byakuren heads towards the door.
Going down the mansion's corridors, Patchouli is characterically cool about what's going on
"What do you think you're doing?" Patchy asks Byakuren, curious about this happening
"We're going to visit the outdoors a bit. It'll do you good" Byakuren replies with a sunny smile as she kicks the yard door open. "Here we are"
Shielding her eyes from the brightness of the sun, Patchy starts to walk around the huge yard.
"How long has it been since I last went out? 20 years? 30?" she comments as she throws herself down on the grass. Taking her cue, Byakuren drops down next to her. As they lie there among the grass, Patchy holds out her hand towards the infinately blue sky
"I already forgot how beautiful the sky is..." the librarian says, holding out her other hand to Byakuren. As she takes the hand, Patchy continues
"But you've brought back my memories from times past, when I still used to play outside..." she says. The two of them lie there in the sun for a long while, forgetting their worries for this fleeting moment of happiness
Eventually getting back up, Byakuren is surprised that Patchouli wants to stay a while longer
"Let's go see Meiling, I haven't seen her in a few years" the librarian says. The pair make their way to the front gate. Nobody is there. Opening the gate, they take a look outside. A young woman can be seen, sleeping against the wall. If Byakuren didn't know better, she could mistake this girl for Komachi. Same athletic body with a ridiculously big chest, same red hair, same slacking off whilst on duty. While Komachi kept her hair short, this girl has it long and flowing, with a similar pair of ribboned braids on the front that Sakuya has. She wears a bright green, foreign style dress with a star-decorated beret. As they get close, Patchy kicks her lightly on the side
"Hey Meiling, better get up before Sakuya catches you napping" Upon receiving the kick, the girl springs up like lightning, getting in a strange fighting stance. For a quick moment, Byakuren can feel a gathering of Ki power in the girl. As she fully registers who's addressing her, the Ki vanishes as fast as it formed. Easing off her stance, Meiling talks to them with an easygoing voice
"Hoo, Miss Patchouli, strange seeing you here. Did something special happen?"
Before Patchy can answer, Meiling makes a blindingly fast turn towards the forest nearby. She assumes her stance again, as a group of predatory youkai head towards them with clear killing intent.
A. Help them get rid of the beasts
B. Back down and try to not involve yourself
