Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

the reason why they turned mgq into a boring self repeating grind feast is beneath my understanding.
also having a hundred monster girl teams with the same skills and classes is also senseless (and boring)...:(

well i´m done with this circle the original mgq serie was there only good game
(a one hit wonder i guess)

anyway i'm still waiting for someone to post a completed save file?
(because i don't think the cg rip from a-sharing has all cgs)

(though i doubt they are worth a fapping (damn loli and shota:mad:)

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

So much for the complaining and disappointment...
to be honest pretty much the most things you guys are disappointed about is:
1. i can't read jap, what the f**k am I supposed to do now, stuck again!
2. so much damn grinding!! its getting on my nerves!
3. seen this CG, boring

...now for these i want to say a few words:

1. look we all know there is the japanese translator thing why don't we use that, if you want current quest info go to the castle and ask amila
2. this is a RPG game, of course there are tons of grinding, you know there is a VERY EASY choice why not PICK that?
3. about 30-40% of the mons and CGs are reused in part.1, but then there is 150+ mons in total so it is still a very large game with many new contents, many popular old mons gets new CGs so why the complaining

and LASTLY the storyline is pretty darn GOOD, i don't want to see compliments from you guys when the translation come out

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

The Harpy Queen is a good example, she's one of my favorite designs and is present in the game - but not as a recruitable character so it sort've cheapens her inclusion because she's "in" but not really -in-. I'm really looking forward to the translation and future parts though, too bad I'll probably be waiting a year+.
nearly every mon can be recruited, the harpy queen is lvl 50 for god sakes you think you can get something like that in the early stages?
maybe you can get to the world tree in part 2 and get a fruit back for her and see yourself?

I'm just saying that having girls recruitable vs. unrecruitable changes the dynamic for me, it's no longer just about having girls in the game and them having scenes - being recruitable is now the new "goal" set by the game it makes just having the normal GOR scenes not as satisfying because I'd rather have scenes in the castle. Just my opinion, it makes sense within the context of the story but the wait will still be rough is all. Highest level monster that is presently obtainable is Nanabi who is 30, unless there's some other hidden girl I'm unaware of that's even higher.

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

Decided to update my walkthrough a tiny bit. This will still be touching on the main story quests and I'll try to keep spoilers to a minimum. To be honest there are so many sidequests I've kinda lost track of some of the proper triggers to a few of them so I don't think I'll be listing them anytime soon.

Since a lot of people seem to be having trouble with finding Amira and starting the bandit quest I'll quickly gloss over it.
-After the scene at Illiasburg's entrance speak to the man standing to the right of the entrance. He'll tell you about Amira and that you should look by the fountain. Speak with the young girl there who will direct you to the blacksmith shop. Speak to the guard inside, who will then direct you to the weapon shop, and finally someone in there will tell you to speak to the man in the alley behind the priest.
NOTE: If an orc girl is blocking your way to the man in the alley check your pocket castle and see if you've recruited an orc. If that's the case, add her to your party to get her to stop appearing in towns
-The man in the alley will tell you Amira went to Illias Temple to change jobs. Head there, speak with the head priest who will redirect you back to Illiasburg, and speak to the man in the alley again
-after being told that Amira was captured by the bandits head to the cave west of illiasburg and defeat the bandits
-you will be returned to town where you will encounter Amira outside of the inn, speak to her BUT DON'T PICK THE FIRST OPTION, you'll kill her. You might be able to exit and reenter the town but I haven't checked and just save scummed, so be wary.
-Amira will have critical information for you and gives you the option to pay her 1500g or become a part of the Informants Guild to get the info for free
OPTIONAL: If you go the informants guild route Amira will point you in the direction of a suspicious phoenix feather trade service which can be located to the south of the bandit's cave.
-Either way Amira will point you in the direction of a mining town located southeast of Illias Village
-head there, enter the inn, and speak to the rabbit girl. She'll direct you towards the Tartarus (large hole in the ground) that's south of Illias Village.
-OPTIONAL: When you exit the inn Alice/Illias will suggest you visit the mine to get some iron for crafting. There's some decent treasure there as well. The iron ore you acquire can also be used to recruit the dragon girl back in Illiasburg.
-enter the Tartarus and make your way to the end. Head to Illias Village and don't deviate to far from the path. There are very powerful monster hanging around.
-once in Illias village examine the graves in the cemetery
-after a lengthy powwow Alice/Illias offers some suggestions
OPTIONAL: head to Midas village to craft gold equipment
OPTIONAL: quell the growing number of slugs in Midas village by defeating the boss in the tower located to the far west of Midas.
-either way your next critical destination is the cave located south of Happiness Village (and to the east of Illiasburg)
-traverse through the cave until you're spat out onto the continent's eastern coast
-rest at the inn in the ruins nearby and then head south to the tartarus
-proceed through the tartarus, enter the village and speak to the elderly man in the southern house (with the jars next to it)
-return from the tartarus and head to the Forest of Hesitation, which is the giant forest located to the west of Illias Village
-proceed westward through the forest until you get to Enrika (the elf village)
-enter the house in the southern part of the village with the elf standing by the door, speak to the occupant
-afterwards head to the very north of the continent and enter Illias Port
-speak to the man with the red bandana standing by the ship to kick off the quest to get Poseidon's Bell
-you will have to head to Treasure Cave, which is located west of Illias Port. You'll have to head south a bit, then over a few bridges to get to it
-make your way through the cave, fight the boss (you don't have to win) and use the rope ladder at the back to quickly exit
-return to Illias Port, present the bell to the man with the red bandanna, and prepare for another boss fight
-you will now be in Port Natalia.
-OPTIONAL: Speak to the blond mermaid in the house you woke up in to start the Southern Seas quest.
-Head west (ignore the village to the north. There's not much you can do there yet.) and continue west until you reach San Ilia.
-Head to the palace and once you enter you'll automatically be taken to the San Ilia king. He will direct you to the library located below the palace, which has been taken over by monsters.
-make your way through the library, beat the boss, and you'll now be able to go after the four spirits
-OPTIONAL: Speak with the San Ilia King after completing the library and he will start the sidequest in Luddite Village (the village to the east of San Ilia, west of Port Natalia, that I told you to ignore).
-head west from San Ilia and once you cross the bridge start heading north to get to the Forest of Spirits. Defeat Sylph and some scenes will play out.
-afterwards make your way to Sabasa by continuing west across the desert.
-from Sabasa head north across one set of bridges, and then west across a second set of bridges
-make your way west a little more until you see a sign (you'll probably have to head slightly southwest to see it) head directly north from the sign to reach the Safaru Ruins, where you'll find Gnome.
-after acquiring gnome head north from the ruins through the break in the mountains, and then head east
-continue your trek eastward across a couple of bridges until you reach a large poison lake with a Tartarus in the middle
-with Gnome in tow you can access the final Tartarus for this chapter
-make your way through the Tartarus, beat the boss, and enjoy the end credits
You can still explore and complete any sidequests you may have missed after the credits finish rolling.

Special Recruitment Requirements: These are some of the monsters that require some kind of special item or condition before they'll join you. This won't include anyone you can acquire at the end of a sidequest through simple combat or progression. I'm pretty sure this list isn't complete.
Chrome and Frederika - Enter the cave to the southwest of Monte Carlo. Make sure you have a party member with the ability to open blue chests or higher. Make your way to the very bottom level where you'll find three chests. In the blue chest is the item Chrome is looking for. Bring it to her and she, along with Frederika, will join up with you.
Lizard Bandit Boss - Recruit Lizard Bandit A and B and speak with her.
Page 65537 - Win the BattleFuck in the northwestern house in San Ilias to acquire the book she's looking for. Take it to her to recruit her.
Eva - In Monte Carlo (located across the bridge to the west of San Ilia) speak to the hooded individual standing in front of the tent in the southeast side of town. He's selling information, which you should buy. Now head to Illias Village and speak with Lazarus. You'll receive a note which you can show to the guard back in Monte Carlo who's blocking the door to the building in the northeast side of town. Inside the building on the first floor speak to the man at the table wearing the green cloak. He should be the proper trigger. Once you finish talking to him check the small alley next to the inn and you should see Eva about to assault a boy. Approach and watch the scene play out. Visit the house that was pointed out to you, speak to the occupant, then make your way to Carlos Hill located immediately southeast of Monte Carlo. Find and fight Eva to recruit her.
Unfortunate Mermaid - located on the southwest coast of Ilias Continent. You'll have to make your way southwards through the Forest of Hesitation to get there. Make sure you have Amira in your party when you speak to her.
Unfortunate Harpy - located in the mining village, wandering slightly below the casino tent. Once again have Amira in your party when you speak to her. (You might have to complete the Harpy sidequest for her to join)
You cannot recruit Sphinx and Queen Harpy in this chapter.

TIPS:
-some people have been running into a bug that corrupts their saves, or stops them from saving entirely. I haven't run into this and I don't think people have managed to pin down the exact cause yet. In any case it's not a bad idea to create a backup folder for your saves every once in a while so you don't lose hours of work.
-a friendship level of 100 doesn't mean enemies will automatically join you. It'll raise your chances but depending on the enemy the recruitment rates can still be incredibly low. Once they're at 100 friendship level just concentrate on defeating them over and over again until they join up.
-Amira has a number of speech skills, both active and passive, that will allow you to raise enemy friendship levels. I suggest keeping her around if you're going after new recruits. You can also acquire an accessory that raises your recruitment rates in the small casino located in the Mining Village, southeast of Illias Village. Said accessory costs 2500 betting chips.
-raising companion affection can be done in one of two ways. The first and fastest way is to give them gifts that they like while they're on standby in the pocket castle. The second, slower process, is to place them in your active roster and battle with them
-try and keep at least one thief class companion in your party at all times to open up locked chests. And make doubly sure the skill is actually equipped.
-when in the member select screen in the pocket castle press the "D" key when your cursor is on someone you want to warp to. It's a fast way to see where your newest recruit is located without having to poke around the entire castle looking for them.

Amira should auto-join after you initially meet her or at least give you the option, or maybe it's after you do the bandits quest?

Harpy Sisters - Just beat them enough, no trick

Slug Queen Quest - Talk to the old lady in the house to the north in the village E/SE of the Slug leader tower I think?

Vampire Girl - Go back to the starting town, talk to the merchant in the item shop. Go to the hill to the SE of the starting village, find the merchant next to the mandragora. Go back to the item shop, talk to both merchants, go back to the hill and find the glowing tree and you should get a beetle. Bring the beetle back to the Vampire Girl, done.

-Amira
After you go to the mining village and speak to the rabbit girl in the inn, return to Amira and speak with her. She should join you.

-Vampire Girl
In Illias Village speak to the merchant inside of the item shop. He'll tell you that a fellow merchant got lost in Talus Hill, which is located directly east of Illias Village. Head there, find the merchant and speak to him. Return to Illias Village and speak with the merchant, who will reward you with the merchant forms. You don't have to change your class. Simply speak to the merchant again and he'll direct you to the beetle, which is also located at Talus Hill on a large tree. The specific tree should be to the west of where you found the merchant. It'll be shiny so it's hard to miss.
Once you have the beetle give it to the Vampire Girl and she'll join up with you.

-Harpy Sisters
They're a random encounter in the tower north of the Harpy Village.

-Slug Quest
In Midas Village speak with the elderly old woman in the northernmost house. She'll tell you to head west to deal with the slugs.

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

You can also recruit mobs just by beating them without using the 話す option. I did that 3-4 times with no intention of recruiting and their likability was at 25 or something.

Yes yes, hundreds of mobs recruitable, who says you need to use them all. If anything, I think it's more to add their CGs/scenes to the pocket monster lord castle.

Also take note that it would be wise to match classes with character races and affinities... Characters have compatibility rates with certain classes, with that said, I found it funny how Sonya is started with the priest class...

I tried both Alice and Illias up to a certain point of the game and stopped. Illias did not disappoint, definitely had more fun reading her lines than Alice. How she reveals the truth about Luka's father only to be stunned when Luka reveals what's happened in the 30 years, how she keeps telling Luka to kill a monster when they appear in front of him, one of my most favorite, the reaction of when she finds that there's a huge group of monsters living in the basement of the Illias grand church; "Illias: Words can can not describe the amount of fury and anger I am holding as of now, however, know this! I promise to not even leave a single ash with the second coming of the holy flames!!!" "Luca:....." "Sonya:...."

There are certainly issues with gameplay and it does feel like the game was created by a bunch of RPGmaker amateurs, in fact, it was. I think Tor put too much effort into the wrong places and should've focused on the points that made his games sell well. I guess he wanted to try something new, don't blame him.

Will pick this up again once (if) the trilogy is complete and hopefully the gameplay issues are resolved. I don't feel like going through another set of idiotic cliff hangers again.

Oh and I have a bit of trouble with the blue chests, I can't seem to open them even if I have the blue slime girl with lvl 10 thief profession in party (also it's already equipped). Initially she would open all of them but now it seems I can't. Any suggestions?

that's exactly my point man mqg is not supposed to be some fucking lame grind rpg
and if he makes 3 part of this shit he gonna lose most of his fans and sales,:(

he should better make it like his masterpiece (the original mgq serie):)
using thad flash program he is used to, not some poor rpg maker,

making there 2 main storyline one for loli alice and one for little crazy ilias,
(with all that choices and side quest, dialogue story and stuff)
(easily clicking through locations and npcs):)

allso making the battles like he does back then,
youst with the choice to recruit or kill them after beating them,:)

allso thad castlle where luka talks, feeds and get fucked by the girls culd be ther to (remember the flash mqg had a infentory):)
(easy going from girl to girl by just clicking their names)

and all that rpg stuff could be in a flash rpg too,(well most of it)
(at least a lvl system, classes and equipment)

programing paradox with rpg maker is his biggest mistake there:(

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

Oh and I have a bit of trouble with the blue chests, I can't seem to open them even if I have the blue slime girl with lvl 10 thief profession in party (also it's already equipped). Initially she would open all of them but now it seems I can't. Any suggestions?
Did you check to see if the correct skills are equipped?
