Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

As Helena turns around, Willow runs a hand through her hair, snuggling tightly against the blonde succubus and giggling softly.

As Helena asks her question, however, the witch pulls her head away to look at Helena's eyes, turning more serious in an instant. "I'm not sure. I'm scared of going somewhere that different. But... I want to stay with you."

Helena nodded and kissed her cheek. "I was just curious willow, I wont force your decision when we come to it, but... I'd like you to stay with me to" she said softly, pulling her in tighter and making a very satisfied and happy purr rumble in her throat.

Thankfully it seemed sex was done for the moment and the universe had devolved into a cuddle fest, which was excellent all things considered. "What should we do tomorrow? I bet the desert has plenty of rare plants to play with in your cauldron" Helena said teasingly, tickling Willow's side with her tail playfully.

Willow twitches as Helena's tail brushes against her side before starting to brush the tail with her hand. "Perhaps. I don't know much about the kind of plants that grow here, but I'm sure we can find someone to teach me." The witch yawns quietly and lets her head down again, snuggling against Helena's bust.

In the morning, Helena wakes up early as usual. The sun hasn't risen yet, and the air is cold even in the wagon, where Willow lies snuggled tightly around Helena, hogging most of the blankets.

Waking up slowly, her lover having stolen all the blankets, Helena did what was probably against her mischievous nature, she left her alone as she got dressed and wandered out to see to fire and breakfast, like it was a routine for her.

Hey, at least everyone could count on breakfast already being made by the early rising demon, that had to be a plus, right?

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

As Helena gets out of the wagon, she's greeted by the sight of a wonderful sunrise, as a larger-than-real sun colours the eastern sky with shades ranging from deep red to orange, tempering the lingering cold of the desert's night as it turns the desert sand into reddish shade.

As Helena gets started on the breakfast, some of the younger lamias join her as usual, and within half an hour everyone is up and eating breakfast, even Aqua who seems to be in the better mood, despite having spent most of the day in a barrel.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena, breakfast taken care of, greets everyone with a meal and a smile, dishing up her friends and lovers all before moving to sit and eat with Willow, kissing her on the cheek and smiling. Last night had been great, she felt good about things and everything was a little less hopeless then before. Things seemed to be working out. Thinking it all through, she was fairly confident that one way or another they could keep moving forward as they had, they'd overcome everything so far, and short a visit to Lord whats his pants and his vampire lackey, everything was golden.

All that was to be done now was to get the ingredients for her collar. And oddly enough, the faster it was handled the better. She didn't like it, but there were structures in the distance, and only her and Jasmine could really go digging around without worrying about dying due to exposure. At least not nearly as quickly.

*Jasmine, Hate to say it, But I think this little venture is where we let our various friends do what they do best. This place is harsh, especially for them, so they're shackled to caravans and water sources. We however, are not, at least not to the same restraint. I think it would be best if we split up here, and let Willow and Cindy take care of Aqua, and handle the apothecary ingredients on the list while you and I look for the more annoying things in the ruins. We've yet to hit anything we couldn't handle together and of all of us here, we've the most experience combat wise of anyone. For the shit job, we're the obvious choice. So what's say you and I let the others know, and head off before mid day hits, the sooner we're out of this hellhole, the better.*

This was the most efficient use of their resources she could think of, they could communicate telepathically with each other like the others couldn't so they could move around more freely on that alone. As another safety net, the Spiders alone were forces unto themselves, Helena was confident in their ability to take care of the girls, and the girls ability to watch out for themselves. As long as they stayed with the spiders, The succubi could always find them if something went wrong as well. This was tactically sound, though not very tasteful.

*That sounds like a good idea* Jasmine answers. Soon the pair makes their preparations and gets in their way.

The morning is still fairly cool, though the sun's fierce rays are building up heat quickly. The skies above the desert are almost deserted save for some vultures in the distance. As Helena and Jasmine rise higher, they can see ruins in the distance the way they came from.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Rising on the thermals was always a particular joy to Helena, who loved flying more then most of her other abilities, her wings spread as the hot air spiraled off the sand below and shot her high into the desert sky, jasmine next to her the whole way as they agreed to head off and handle this little problem.

Once up there, the ruins were easily spotted, and it was pleasant to see they were the only ones actually up here. How many times had they been ambushed by, not just harpies or other annoying things, but fucking Dragons. Helena could freely admit she was downright tired of Dragons, especially the ones here who seemed very high and mighty and were no fun at all.

Shaking herself from her musings, Helena did exactly as expected, winging her way towards the ruins with all haste, sooner started, sooner done.

As Helena and Jasmine float closer to the ruins, they see that it's a cluster of small pyramids with a partially collapsed temple in the middle. As the pair lands, they see that the temple doors are still open. The temple stands several stories tall, supported by crude pillars made for practicality, yet even through the time-worn decorations the temple has certain majesty to it, reflecting the past glory of numerous worshippers.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

As the pair of demons alit upon the sandy floor of the desert, amidst the wind and the spinning dustdevils caused by the eddies and currents of air between the old bones of a forgotten god, Helena looked up at the temple. Pyramids were well and good, but you started at the center, and this place... It was curious, to be majestic in it's own way after so many years... This place held power, it made the hair on the back of Helena's neck stand on end and she glanced at jasmine slowly before nodding.

Deeper... Always deeper into the Rabbit Hole Sis. She said quietly, her wings wrapped around her form as she started walking towards the temple doors, and into the cool embrace of an ancient grave.

Jasmine follows Helena into the temple and into a large, dust-filled hall. Though the light is faint, she can make out carvings and hieroglyphs in the walls, seemingly depicting scenes of history, or perhaps of legends. The hall seems otherwise empty, save for the remains of numerous doors to other rooms and a pair of chests by the doorway.

Well, this is interesting. If only we cared over much about the history here. Standard adventuring handbook states that all boxes and chests be opened before doors are searched. Helena said, glancing around the temple curiously. But they were after specific things, that meant checking fucking everywhere until they found them, and then they could get the hell out.

Wandering over to the chests, Helena muttered a soft phrase, before trying to open one of them from a few feet away. She didn't trust things in ruins all that often, especially not after the snow loving rape pond incident...

While Helena opens one chest, Jasmine opens the other one. One of the chests is full of stone tablets, while the other only has rotten remains of some cloth inside. "Well, it was too much to expect that there would be anything valuable so easily found. Anything interesting on those tablets?"

The topmost tablet Helena can see is a list of names and dates, written in same hieroglyphs the walls are covered in.

Not that I can tell Jas, just names and the like, may be useful though. Besides, maybe we can puzzle more of this language out. Helena answered, carrying one of the tablets with her. If anything else it was still a heavy chunk of rock. Looking around, Helena sighed.

Well! lets try the doors then, split up and do the telepath thing? I mean... never the brightest idea, but lets get this done with.

"You start on the right, I start on the left" Jasmine replies, heading to the closest door. The first three doors in either side turn out to lead only into small chambers, mostly empty save for a few claypots. The fourth door opens into a short hallway leading to another bronze door, this one stuck as part of the roof seems to have collapsed.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*Anything on your end jas?* Helena asks as she looks at the door and the cave in. Bronze was notoriously nonreactive and resistant to corrosion... Why was she thinking smart again, maybe she was only a complete moron when she was stressed out or pissed off. Sighing, Helena tried to see if she could shift the debris out of the way, if she couldn't, she'd head back towards Jasmine and see if she knew of a way, or could simply blow the thing our of it's frame.

*Nothing exciting yet.*

Examining the door, Helena notices that if she could somehow move the stone above it, she should be able to open it, unless it was blocked from the other side.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*Fair enough, if you hear a loud noise, and something like a cave in... I may be flat. Butttt should be fun.*

Looking at the stones, and more particularly the one majorly offending stone that barred obnoxiously resilient alloy door, which Helena scowled at for a moment, the scholar athlete demon astronaut archaeologist assassin decides that simply fracturing the damned thing was much easier.

Surrounding one hand in a quickly heat wreath of flames, she conjured a lance of ice in the other and placed her flaming hand on the stone. Holding it there, she waited until even she had to pull her hand away from the heat, or until it got as hot as she could possibly get it, before backing up, and hurling the lance. Hopefully, and presuming this was sandstone, it would at least crack and shift.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The stone slowly builds up heat until Helena just can't make it any hotter, and the ice-lance causes it to crack and half of the stone-beam falls off, almost smashing Helena and causing the ceiling to shift. The door still resists moving, but with an effort of will Helena manages to push it open, revealing more broken stone on the other side, almost blocking the doorway. Beyond the doorway there's a pleasant looking chamber with a wide window letting in sunlight and several more vases as well as two open doorways, leading into what seems to be a pair of bedrooms with stony beds and a pair of closets that seem ready to fall apart any moment.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*Helena 1, Temple 0.*

Squeezing through the door, Helena didn't take the time to think about how flat she had almost been, how lucky that quick step to the side was, or even how surprisingly useful being flexible was outside of a bedroom as she had bent almost backward to avoid being smashed, but hey! It all worked out in the end.

Seeing the bedrooms, and stony beds, Helena pondered how comfortable they would even be. She made a bet that they wouldnt be all that bad considering the temperature, Stone could be nice and cool at night. Popping into the room on the left, Helena walked over and opened up the closet, scavenging and hoping to get lucky.
