You're an irksome fellow.
Maybe. It's likely that you are just more easily irked than others. Yeah, that's probably it.

Irk

IRK

IRK!

Seriously, did something happen recently? You seemed so level-headed in the posts of yours I've seen before what happened in the shoutbox recently.

I've also been known to see things that aren't there. So maybe it's just me. Yeah, that's probably it.

Re: The Reputation Hilarity/Insanity thread

I am irked a tad more easily than others, that I shall admit. But you're still an irksome chap.

And as for the shoutbox fiasco, I was intentionally vying for attention, for the sake of my amusement. The easiest way to get attention is to either have large breasts, be an image of female popularity without being masculine(IE: fictional characters akin to the men from twilight, lead vocalists from boy bands, or Justin Bieber), or say things that people find contrary to their own beliefs.

The second part comes to me a little more naturally than the former. Some of the things I said I genuinely believed, some of them I was just speaking out to play devil's advocate. It's also amusing to see people be offended by trivial conversation. While I do dislike Pale, I only exaggerated to the extent that I did for effect.

And the results were something along this lines:

Hentaispider derailed with me into personal insults as always. He's an amusing guy to argue with, though his taste in companions is questionable at times.

Courage_Wolf sprayed his opinion into the shoutbox like a small spatter of semen, immediately withdrawing from conversation the moment I started to reply. He was either attempting to troll me, or genuinely didn't have the determination or courage to even try to reinforce his argument, or degrade my own.

Aurani sort of just wavered back and forth, affirming that he disagreed with me and my attitude, with the occasional insult, but not really arguing at all. The rest involved I didn't pay much attention to, or just didn't make a large impression. I think there was one guy who kept on saying "Pale is awesome!" or something, but I can't remember his name.

You didn't do much at all if I recall, you arrived towards the end right? Or were you lurking?

I got a pretty funny negative one in the pic thread. I guess it is from when I posted my picture.

I CAN'T FAP TO THIS

I couldn't stop giggling.

I was late to that party. It wasn't that great a party.

Re: The Reputation Hilarity/Insanity thread

These 2 neg-reps made me lol.

Use of the N word. on this thread.

But then...

'F*cking'? Seriously? You're going to censor a swear on an adult website when nearly EVERYONE ELSE SAYS FUCK? on the hate thread.

One (maybe both) of these neg-reps were from someone who had high rep.. I don't know which one to acknowledge, should I curse more often? Or keep censoring my curses and never say the N word? o_O

And the stupid part was, my use of the N word was to describe what someone had typed when they neg-repped me.. So honestly, I don't think that's supposed to count...

I assume that by "N word" you mean nigger? I don't really see how anyone on a site like this could be somehow be shocked or insulted by someone saying fuck. Nigger, however, is an insult, so it's a different thing. Still, someone is obviously being a fucking moron here.

obvious troll is obvious

Yes, your approach is rather obvious. Especially considering that my post was just a defensive retaliation to Hentaispider. Your perspective is as twisted as one of the spiral horrors from Uzumaki.

Helping!

You took off a mere amount of 10 points. I am dissapoint.

What am I saying, I don't really want neg rep if I don't authentically deserve it.

I'm a bit confused with the whole n-word dilemma. I actually remember back when I was a toddler, I asked a few folks about the word and what it meant. They fucking treated me as I had commited a crime and warned that if I ever said it in front of any black man, they would immediately gun me down. Now, that is pretty racist right there to make such a crazed assumption. I am pretty sure that as long as the word isn't being used in an aggressive, hostile manner I don't see why the word would induce rage among people.

I think that it's for the best to try to differ between the use of the n-word per se, like on the street, in jest, or whatever circumstance and the use in public, like a newspaper reader comment or on radio/television (I wouldn't consider a "porn" forum as public, however).

The casual use of the n-word might provoke anger, or not. Depending how and to whom you say it, I would say that it's a matter of luck as well if you don't know the background of your conversation partner. And with background I don't mean the concentration of melanin.

So why "luck"? The n-word is associated with certain events and attitudes of the past (at least it SHOULD be the past) on the one hand, on the other there's the fact that the WORD ITSELF can be used to stir up emotions and as such it can be instrumentalized - e.g. if someone says it in public - to pin all the negative attributes associated with the word to the person that said it, no matter the context. More recent examples of provoking emotionality-based reactions - divide et impera - would probably be debates revolving around terrorism, certain ethnic and religious groups, in Germany we also have another "n-word" as you might imagine.

So because folks see and hear everyday about the consequences that a word alone can cause, they naturally try to avoid it. I think some people are literally so afraid of these words that they become offended if you use them around them, even if no insult was intended.

Definitions are really just contexts written down. Without context, words don't have meaning. So I say use nigger all the time, substitute it for words even.

Unrelated neg rep for being a self professed troll in general.

Feel free to neg rep me for trolling, but make it contextually appropriate. It's not like I'm constantly trolling and it takes up every fiber of my personality. Obeliskos is already under that position.

I'm wondering about neutral rep. How the hell do you get it? I've never seen as an option whenever I rep someone. I do have a few neutral reps, though. The grayness.

Your rep power, i.e. your ability to rep others up or down is affected by your number of posts and your own reputation. If either is too low, your rep power is too low to affect anything at all --> neutral rep.

BTW: This was last explained by Incubus, 2 weeks ago. Took me like 5 sec to look it up. It's literally on this thread, one page back...

Really now? Only one page back, too? Talk about "did not do research." Whatever. I have my answer. Gonna disappear from this thread now.

Re: The Reputation Hilarity/Insanity thread

I suggest this link be put in the FAQ page where the reputation-related questions are.

http://www.ulmf.org/bbs/showthread.php?t=9094

Or maybe what's IN that link could just be put in the FAQ.. Iunno..

It's really useful info but it's kinda hidden. (2nd page of "Forum developement" topic")

Re: The Reputation Hilarity/Insanity thread

He was being a smartass to a dumb comment, he wasn't trying to be helpful, are you really that goddamned dense?
I didn't say YOU asked for a link, I said the other guy did, and you're acting like he should have been helped or something.
It CLEARLY says what it says, and we're not helping people to get that link.

If you're all going to act like this, which is as inevitable as it is in every thread where links aren't supposed to be requested, I'll just lock this and treat it as an information thread, and those with the appropriate taste in Vanja's games can buy them or not. Then people like Jak and others who actually retrieved the game will not be able to get their actually reasonable questions answered. Treat it just like a grade school class if we have to.

Get with the program. It's mockery.
Really?

Ever heard of "Google?"

Get with the program. It's mockery.

There's either some deep brand of ignorance or hypocrisy seeping through this guy's pores.

tl;dr
Guy thinks takes spider too seriously and calls him an idiot for making fun of an idiot. I call the other guy an idiot for misunderstanding the point of it. He catches himself, then declares I took him to seriously, and I'm the idiot.

Way to save face, brah
