I refer you both to the following:

Oddjob was an unlockable character in multiplayer for Goldeneye 64. People who grew up in the 90's/00's know he's the short, Asian guy who throws a hat capable of chopping heads off. His only appearance outside of video games was in Goldfinger(1964). He was parodied in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, among other films.

The joke is that because he was short in the films, Rare, being the sadistic cunts they were back then(among other things), felt it necessary to stay true to the lore and made him short. Players who picked him had an unfair advantage it meant everyone else had to keep their aim at torso level just to deal with the player who picked Oddjob. Oh, and unless I'm wrong, he was a bit faster than the other characters. Basically, you were getting chopped in the crotch by a midget during multiplayer. The guy who picked Oddjob was seldom asked to return for any future get-together with friends.

Picking Toad in Mario Kart (being the smallest character, had a distinct speed advantage) or Kirby in Smash Bros (this one is obvious).

I found oddjob pretty easy to deal with. I thought most people played with auto aim on, which usually immediately went to his head, whereas it would usually lock on to peoples bodies

You could also pick one of the civilians, a granny who was almost as cheap as Oddjob as she too was short as damn.

I don't recall the Granny civvy, unless you're talking about in the more recent Goldeneye game from a few years back. If not, it probably wasn't a character as recognizable as Oddjob and thus wasn't used as much.

You actually can't use normal auto-aim on him. It only fires at chest level on other characters, and his hitbox is below that.

Also, correction on my part. he was of average height in the film and Rare were ill-informed (given there is a short, guy in Man with the Golden Gun who has a similar appearance).

I never told my friends not to use oddjob

I just set the match to explosives only and made a sadisticly constructed minefield

It was even better when Perfect Dark came out as well, Laptop Sentries and Dragon proximity mines were pure evil and I loved it!
