This is why I don't play legacy. Because people that can and do sink $6000 into their deck will almost always win, because they'll play their entire starting hand turn one, draw a new hand, and then play that as well. And then counter everything you play for your turn with Force of Will.

Also, the Karn deck only rarely gets that to work. Of the 6 or so times I've played it, it's got that combo out only once. Every other time I trounced it.

Most games against reasonable people are much less one sided than that.
