"Just Caitlin, I hate formalities, I tend to forget them, and over there please, unless the good doctor here would prefer somewhere else..." She looks over to the doctor running inventory and her glance passes over the Ashotur strapped to the table... and stays there. Her jaw drops, and she doesn't even move for about five seconds, then she becomes a flurry of activity and questions all over again.

"Great Galaxies, is that an Ashotur!? I thought there weren't any left! What is one doing all the way out here? What happened to it? Will it survive? Has anyone managed to speak to it yet? What about tissue samples? Has anyone started recording a genome for them yet? This could be the last chance we have!"

"Easy, Caitlin. We did collect a good piece of information" Vance says, setting the spore down on an empty table "We do know that their muscle structure is incredible. It steamrolled a Bentari like he was nothing" he says, sighing as he looks over at Krysta "I just hope I can find out his muscle structure. The more I know about an Ashotur, the closer I get to my goal"

Krysta's eyes hardened, "I've got a tissue sample, and when he wakes up we can figure out how the translator works and talk to him." she seemed to stress his gender, "Please keep your voice down, I have an exhausted patient that needs her sleep. Set him down on the bed closest to the door." She stood and made her way over, "What happened?"

"This is the biologist assigned to examine our two curiosities. Her name is Caitlin. We're going to examine the Spore in a few moments. Until then, we have to make sure no more damage is caused to it's body." Vance says, smiling and looking at the spore, then picking it back up and laying it on the bed that was mentioned earlier "I just hope that we can figure out why the Spore's do what they do." he says, his hands coming together and the fingers interlocking as he puts his hands behind his head

Catlin looks vaguely threatened during the reprimand, then puts an apologetic smile on her face. "Sorry, I tend to get excited over my work. Oh, but you must think I'm terribly rude. As Vance said, my name's Caitlin, nice to meet you, and I'm a geneticist, physicist, and sort of xenobiologist. So, umm... yeah, nice to meet you, and I'm going to get back to work now, hehe."

Krysta grinned, "Oh don't leave just yet. We've got a lab here for running DNA samples just through that door." she pointed to the lab door next to the autoclave. "You're more than welcome to use it, and I suppose we had better get used to each other because I'm not going to let my patients leave. Anything done will be done with my supervision and in here."

"Speaking of which, do you have the proper equipment to do me that favor I asked?" Vance asks Krysta, turning his head and looking at her

"Fair enough, saves me a bunch of time running back and forth to my ship, greatly appreciated, and pleasure to work with ya."

Caitlin goes into the lab and gets herself situated, then gets straight to work analyzing.

"We don't have the proper equipment yet." She said following Caitlin with her eyes. "But if Miss Caitlin is willing to help, and if her stuff is moveable..." her voice was rather loud and she let it hang in the air.

"What? Oh, alright, I can help, sure. Some of my equipment can be moved, but some corners of my lab have become, umm, let's call it 'overgrown', hehe. What would you like me to do? Oh, and please, no 'miss Caitlin' stuff, I won't remember any of your titles, please don't make up any for me."

Krysta grinned, "I make nicknames for everyone usually. I'm Krysta." She held out a hand and then continued, "I'm the medical officer and if you wouldn't mind bringing what you and red skin over here can handle i would be most grateful. Oh! and while you're at it..." she pulled a list out of her pocket, "This is a list of the medical supplies i need. Can you take this to Nadia so it can get ordered? I have to watch our fishy friend over there."

Caitlin takes Krysta's hand with a grin of her own.

"Nicknames I can handle, titles not so much, makes a room feel all stuffy, you know?"

She then takes the list and gives it a quick once-over. "I don't think you actually need to send for most of this stuff, I have a fair stock of the necessities on my ship. I'll just scratch off what I can provide and pass the rest on."

She turns to leave but stops halfway with a puzzled look on her face. "Come to think of it, I don't think I've met a Nadia yet, where would I find her?"

"Oh thank God." Krysta said fervently, "Nadia's in the Command center, I'm sure Vance can escort you there."

"Sounds like a plan, we'll go see Nadia then stop by my ship and grab what we can." Caitlin takes a quick look over her shoulder, then giggles a bit and turns back with another grin on her face.

"Poor Vance, getting bossed around in circles with nowhere to go." She says in a conspiratorial whisper, but still loud enough for them both to hear.

She then turns towards Vance and the door with a charming smile. "Shall we?"

"After you, Caitlin" Vance says, walking towards the door and stopping next to it "Here's hoping Nadia isn't still mad at me" he says, remembering his little 'incident' from earlier "I'll tell you one thing, that woman sure has a bad temper. So try not to make her mad." he says, smirking "And no, I don't mind being bossed around by beautiful women. It's the men who think they can boss me around who get on my nerves"

"Aww, what a gentleman, thank you, Vance." She might be mocking you, but judging from what you've seen of her so far, you doubt it.

As the two leave for Command, Caitlin calls back to Krysta. "I'll be back with the stuff from the Pillar as soon as I can!"

A strange, hissing sound comes from the Ashotur - and then suddenly a deep, snarling voice is heard. "What... I feel like a Pan Kor punched a hole in my chest. Where-" Another hissing sound accompanies a sudden jerk on the straps that bind him. "Devils of the deep, WHERE AM I?"
