Tamonten lost her restraining grip on the slippery shrine maiden entirely. Her strategy of not getting punched or kicked again was going very poorly. Normally, she might have tried to break her grip on the struggling miko and taken a few swings of her own. It didn't seem worth risking another knee to her midsection over, though, so instead the swordswoman tried to put Tomoe into another submission hold.

After narrowly preventing an attack likely to finish the fight, it was back to the original plan for Tamonten. By that point she wasn't entirely sure that the wooden horse was the best choice, given the tenacious miko's success in breaking away from it once already, but it was the closest. The swordswoman blushed faintly as Tomoe's body came into view. In the long grapple, Tomoe was surprised that it had taken this long for her clothing to get tugged at. Success! Or some measure of it, as the swordswoman finally managed to get her opponent in a device that didn't result in a near immediate escape.
