Shrike7: Kor smirkedat the peck on the cheek, offering his own bow with somewhat more flourish as she walked away. When she looked back, he had barely moved, but some naga had apparently come up to speak to him. She caught him glance in her direction though, just before she got too far away to see for certain. The trip away from town was uneventful, though night had fully fallen by the time she found a somewhat suitable place to set up camp. the location was a bit off the path, a small depression on the lee side of a large boulder. Likely an issue if it decided to rain, but otherwise perfect for her needs.
Tassadar: Ona set about creating her camp with her usual efficiency, setting up a small canvas on some sticks beside the boulder to provide cover for the night and stringing a line between two trees to hang her pack from. After that, she would go off to collect some firewood, leaving her pack hanging but keeping her weapons and her armor on. Letting one's guard down in the woods wasn't a good plan no matter where you were, and Ona had no illusions about Acheron providing safety outside of its wall given how chaotic it had been inside.
Shrike7: There were a couple times during her collection trip where she thought she felt herself being watched, but she couldn't spot anything, and nothing jumped out at her, so she eventually marked it down to paranoia when she made it back to her camp safely. a few minutes later, Ona managed to get the fire started, the first few wisps of smoke trailing upwards into the darkness...
Tassadar: After she got the fire going, Ona moved to her pack and retrieved some of her rapidly dwindling food, and then returned to kneel beside the fire and eat the dried meat and fruit. No signs of the paranoia still causing her to flit her gaze over her surroundings were present on the armored girl, leaving her outwardly calm. She set her sword beside her as she ate, and when she finished she simply sat beside the fire and waited awhile, the day having not been as tiring as she was used to and thus leaving her full of energy even after Kor's extraordinary kiss.
Shrike7: The night passed in near silence, the slow crackling of the fire and the sounds of her own eating the only sounds in her ears for what felt like at least an hour, but was probably much shorter. Suddenly, she heard a loud commotion somewhere a good distance to her left, probably about ten seconds long. It sounded like the victim of whatever was going on was a deer from the bleating, which abrupty stopped about halfway through the commotion.
Tassadar: Ona looked up in surprise at the sudden commotion and reached for her sword reflexively. The sound ended after a moment, but Ona slowly rose to her feet anyway, curious. If there was a predator near her little campsight, she might have to find a tree to climb. Pausing a moment at the edge of the firelight to allow her eyes to adjust to the darkness, Ona crept noisily through the bushes, her sword in her hand and the other held out at her side.
Shrike7: Ona managed to trek towards where she heard the commotion easily, and the scene she stumbled upon almost made her gasp in surprise. She had indeed heard a deer, it was still there, enveloped by a mass of tendrils emanating from a pair of orb-like creatures, it's calls silenced by a pair of tentacles swiftly pumping down it's throat, as well as noticably it's other holes. A man watched the scene from the other side of her, but there was so much *wrong* about him as well. He shared the same slick grey skin as the creatures assaulting the deer, as well as bundles of tendrils spurting out of here or there, and he was draped in a loose red robe, damp with whatever oil he was covered in. He was already looking in her direction when she pushed through the last of the undergrowth, a perverted smile on his face, and one of the creatures was already extricating itself, lifting from the shuddering doe and carrying itself towards her on those tendrils, more of the lengths reaching towards her...
Tassadar: Ona came to a crashing halt the very moment that she saw the two creatures violating the dear, her eyes wide and an expression of utter horror on her face. She noticed the man in the back a second after, and she snapped out of her disturbed stupor a moment later, her guts twisted. She didn't open her mouth, not trusting herself to speak, and instead simply darted forward and slashed at the tentacled abomination pulling itself free of the deer. (Attack with 20 points of defensive fighting, gaining +20 Dodge. Attack stats: +61 attack, 2d6 + 32 damage for sword. +61 attack, 2d12 + 32 damage.)
Shrike7: Her sword cleaves right through the outstretched tendrils with almost no resistance, and before the thing could reorient, her clawed gauntlet was digging deeply into the bundle of flesh at the center, the rest of the creature's appendages slumping as it died. A bit of the slime seeped into the cracks of her gauntlet as she retracted it, the oily stuff feeling a bit warmer than her body temperature, but before she could really put more thought into it, the second creature pulled itself free from the doe as well, reaching out and winding around her arms, getting closer as more tendrils started to wind towards her as she felt that warmth from the slime again, the man in the back watching with that same grin on his face. (grappled, you know the stuff for it better. and yay roll! 4 resistance damage, 21/25 towards aroused)
Tassadar: Ona let out a disgusted cry as the second creature's tendrils wind around her limbs, feeling the unfamiliar heat suddenly rising in her belly due to the foul slime but still able to easily ignore it for the moment. Wrenching her arms, Ona suddenly springs forward and attempts to stab into the creature's body with her sword. (Grapple action: attack with sword! Grapple check, damage same as above with an additional 4 due to not dual wielding.)
Shrike7: "Can you feel it? That wonder-" the corrupted man started as the tendrils wound around her arms, stopping suddenly when Ona simply pushed her blade forward and pierced the core of the second creature, feeling her bindings slacken immediately as it died as quickly as the first. His look of shock and horror almost matched her own when she first arrived, and he turned and bolted into the forest without another word. (19/25 resistance, chances are a useless note but there's a couple options that wont give it time to recover.)
Tassadar: Ona's face turned into a mask of fury after the second creature died, and she advanced a step towards the man who had seemingly commanded the creatures when he bolted off into the woods. "Get back here!" she shouted, and charged on after him, though she wouldn't advance very far from her camp before coming to a halt. Running through the woods at night was a great way to get hurt even without the threat of monsters finding you in the dark, and if she hadn't caught up to the man quickly, Ona would instead return to her camp.
Shrike7: Ona jumped over the still-shuddering deer and gave chase for a minute, stopping suddenly when she started to have second thoughts. She could hear the robed figure crashing through the forest just out of sight, but still easy enough to track. she felt she was catching up, if she kept going.
Tassadar: Ona glared after him, but didn't give chace any further. He might be leading her towards more of his foul friends, and she didn't like her chances against them in the dark.
Tassadar: Turning, she carefully returned to her camp, intent on examining the dead tentacle monsters come morning light.
Shrike7: She heard a couple more sounds throughout the night, but nothing encroached on her campsite, fortunately.
