Re: [RJ139133] Virgin protection magic (clothdmg, arousal dmg)
@Yugifan3: To be honest, it comes across as a cynical move designed only to further your popularity. I've already stated that there will be a partial from day 1, minute 1, simply due to the demo patch working on the full game (note: I believe I'm correct in saying that the majority of items in the game are already in the demo - the items DB in the demo is pretty extensive, at nearly 300, and most of them are not in the demo - so I'd suspect that outside of quest items, most of my partial translation is already done). Now, not to be disparaging about your methods, but I'm reasonably certain this is much faster than you can manage - not to mention the fact that you typically wait a few days/weeks for a stable version before touching it.
So, while I obviously can't stop you from doing your own partial, I am left questioning your motives for doing so, and what it is that you intend to actually bring to the table which I'm not already doing. Basically, wouldn't it make more sense to invest effort into a game which won't have a translation available quickly, rather than duplicate effort? Heck, it's not like I'm hostile to collaboration on translations, either (especially if it's just for a quick partial work can then be editted for consistency later).
Hence my comment on it being a cynical move on your part: you'll be able to add this game to your list of partials, and any work that I've done will be completely ignored by anyone looking in the partials thread - which of course, you have power of veto over, being the maintainer of that list.
But that's just my take on things. Like I said, I can't stop you. But without some extra reasoning for why you are doing what you are doing, saying "no hard feelings" isn't gonna take away from the fact that I do think this is at least somewhat insulting - either on my ability to translate, or how you present the situation afterwards.
