For pity's sake, I'm glad I have these forums to get feedback from.
I've been on Twitch asking various speedrunners, challenge runners and chatters "What would you like to see in an action RPG?"
The answers are usually "good bosses" or "good levels" etc.

These people bitch constantly and nitpick at every RPG from Skyrim to Dark Souls.
Yet when asked how they'd do better, they either shrug or say "I'd make it good instead of bad."
Worthless...

i'd suggest putting the content you intended from the beginning, and once the game is fully playable from beginning to end, add the extra content, otherwise you may find yourself adding extra cool stuff but losing your destination along the way.

unless of course the game is meant to be more of a free style go to places game.

There was some bug with the attack animations that has been fixed.
Now to fix some bugs with the walking, running, pathing and AI...

That Skyrim download list is interesting. I am guessing it counts newer release version as separate download as well. I can't imagine Devious Device Integration to realistically surpass Devious Device Asset considering Asset is...well the art asset requirement of DDI.

More Nasty Critter and Nude Creatures doesn't really do anything on its own rather it is a collection of animations and art asset for other mods to pull from, it mostly serve as requirements for other mods. The only conclusion to draw is that there is a good number of people interested in beast/monster content. Also I think Nude Creatures is rolled into More Nasty Critters now so it rarely needs to be download separately currently.

Aroused and Aroused Redux is the older and newer version of the same thing, and are mostly serve as requirements for other mods.

Defeat and SD+ topping the chart really isn't surprising. For a long time and even until now to a certain extend they are still most feature rich dynamic combat sex and slavery mod out there respectively.

I am surprise Prison Overhaul isn't there tho.

Seems like bestiality is much more popular than I'd thought.
But I wonder what the breakdown is between those wanting
farmhouse sex with horses and dogs vs people wanting anthropomorphic monsters.

Personally I've always preferred monsters to play the role of males in hentai.
Maybe I should expand the beast races to as wide a variety as possible.
Perhaps even one beast race per sexable creature in that mod.

Fixed a critical problem with damage calculation.



Each of these little bugs is a show stopper until fixed.
Sometimes game programming is like the world's longest speedrun.
One mistake and you might have to reset.

Games that use a stamina meter of often very forgiving.
Maybe too forgiving.



In Renfield stamina works just like mana.
If you don't have enough to attack, you won't.
Unlike Skyrim or the Souls games where you can attack with only 1 Stamina.
You'll have to manage your stam carefully.

I've always found that overly-low stamina stuff frustrating. If I suddenly can't attack or jump in the heat of a battle, I'll often just lose before I realize that I was out. I prefer being able to still attack but neutering the damage on the exhaustion attacks, like Anthophobia did.

Been working on alchemy again.



I've created over 200 possible ingredients.
You'll be able to mix them dynamically just like in ES.
But at the moment I'm only putting in simple single-effect potions and poisons.

Also considering a blind alchemy option.
With blind alchemy, the effects of the ingredients are shuffled at the start of the game.
So hardcore alchemists are forced to start from scratch and learn the mixtures from scratch each time.

I'd like to include at least some multiplayer features in Renfield as soon as possible.
When I approached the creator of the middleware I'm using to make a multiplayer plugin he said he would charge at least 5,000 Euros.
Was that just his way of telling me he didn't want to do it?



Seems we're better off doing this on our own.
I'm going to be looking at various multiplayer extensions on the Unity store.
But if realtime co-op isn't practical, there may be a middle ground.

Dragon's Dogma and its online version have what's called a Pawn system.
You create your own NPCs and send them to other people's worlds.
Perhaps a system like this could prove interesting.

Player A could make a friendly Pawn and player B could make a hostile Pawn.
Then if player C is connected to a server, he can hire Pawn A and/or get invaded by Pawn B.

I think Dead Island's stamina system worked pretty well. You can attack quickly but it will drain your stamina after like 10 consecutive strikes, but it will recharge very quickly after a short pause; there are also low-stamina options (the kick) to give you some breathing room

Taking a break from alchemy.
But I think I've made a major breakthrough in the alchemy system.



Instead I'm focusing on spells for the next few days.
435 of them have been created but they likely won't all be available at first.

We've hit a major hurdle with the inventory management system.
Hopefully it'll be resolved soon.
Until then I'll just focus on finishing the weapons and armor.
Also been working on enemy AI. Lots of buggy behavior still needs to be ironed out.

Remember guys the best support you can give me is any post here.
It's much easier to stay motivated when I know people are out there who care about the project.

Anyway that problem I complained of earlier MIGHT have been solved.
The middleware I was using didn't have the features we need for the inventory and storage system.
So finally a "Eureka!" moment came to me.
The chests will be treated as friendly NPCs.
When the player opens a container it will join the party, you'll trade items with it, and then it will leave party.
A strange workaround to be sure, but I didn't really have any other choice.
