based on girl's rank and stats,the board have some open slots on the bottom(max is 3, if i remember correctly) for each scene,right to your "hand" field.You can "lock" tiles there for the rest of the current round, so that they will add to combos of your collected hands(4 tiles).
There are two types of locks: penetration lock(click mouse wheel) and normal lock(right click).The first one allow to match tiles through them,handy for defusing neckbottles while still having good score,but this locks are limited.About 4 or 5 of them total through the whole session,with max of 2-3 per round. The normal locks are available as long as you have open slots,but be careful not to block clearing paths to your combos.Basically, it's a good idea to plan 1-2 combos ahead(straights,flashes,rarely 3-4 of-a-kinds),and to gather your locks at the end of the first hand.
For better scores:
Learn to use locks, always try to remember what combo will be next and select scenes with according bonus tiles.Your scoring tiles could amount to 4 normal+3 locks+2 bonus=9 tiles maximum.If this will be 9-tiles long straight, that will give you 6 straights for you score, and 1-2 flashes to boot).
Try to leave "Seed" combos for locks in two last rounds(usually,you don't need penetration locks there,because board is mostly cleared), where seed tiles will appear rapidly.Also save some good food for vitality.This will guarantee you good score ,when you can just gather 2-3 seed tiles per each hand and rack up "ejaculation" combos.
You can also increase player "sensitivity" through items and scrolls, and seed tiles will start to appear in abundance in second round already, allowing you to efficiently get rid of seed-combo tiles early.
