while i think that making your own choices and discovering secret CGs is generally preferable, from a complete japanese-ignorant and a translation-aggregator-confused-by standpoints, i think those kind of games where you see all scenes just by proceeding forward are a really good thing

i mean, its a pain with tranlation tools speaking to everyone and understand when to answer YEP GOOD FOOD and where to go to find hidden paths and ending

if the game is fully translated, hidden things and choiches are the best
for untraslated games this auto-unlock-just-play-and-go-straigth is a peach

since mighty etygoya helps us a lot with waltrough maybe you don't need translations either but i keep saying one thing that i think stands true: more than story and menus, H-scenes translation should be a priority, since are the real sugar that makes these games tasty

Based on how RPG maker works, skills items and menu are almost always in a fixed section for you to edit while locating H-scenes is alot more difficult when you don't actually know where the scenes happen. And there are way too much more text in H-scenes than menu and items. You can't expect H-scenes translation of a game to come out soon (for most games they will never be translated), a quick menu/item/skill translation can at least let people play the game. (for some games its very hard to progress when you don't know what skill to use against bosses/monsters)

The most important part, I don't think the real sugar in hrpg are just the h-scenes. A RPG is a game which you can roleplay. I always enjoy how my decisions lead to different consequences/endings. If H-scenes are just what I want, I can go watch translated H anime/manga. Translation on H-scene is good, but to me, translation of the story is just as important.

Those are just my opinion tho, I do know that alot of people only play Hgames for the CG/scenes. I guess i can never understand them.

For translator, I myself uses VNR. It auto detects and grab text, then send the text to online translator/translation software on you comp. It also has a shared database where users share their specific translations on short phrases that translator cant properly translate. It might take some time to setup and get use to the UI, but its best translator I can find.

Totally agree, linear games with stupid quests, where you must run from point A to point B and kill some overgrown mob, witch don't make any difference in story, just as reward unlocks another cg, in my opinion ins't games at all, why even bother by grinding and leveling up, only wasting time, better just to grab decrypter and unpack gallery folder.

So the clothes kind of function as the classes right? Do they change the cg's or are they just there for combat (and to distract you)

I think we're just bothered because we think the game is offering something when it...uh, isn't. For all intents and purposes we ARE Role Playing as this lady in this Game (and her life is just a sex-up series of events).

Regardless, this game is still just "ok". I found like one nonstandard game over in the full version and that's about it. Still good for what it gives you and it's still not going to blow minds.

To be fair the act of "going from point A to point B to unlock a reward" describes 100% of videogames in the history of forever, certain games are just better at hiding it than others.

No there are games with multiple endings and side quest, of course this is word play, it depends by that what you are taking for start point and finish, cause by your logic everything in this world is going from point a to b, you born and then you die nothing between.

hei im not telling you what i think sugar is in a RPG, im telling you what sugar is in ***H***-RPG, which is a totally different thing
if you want fully introspectional rpg you very rarely finds it in these games and when you do they usually deserve a full translation which i strongly approve

just to mention one, i think violated heroine had a lot of that with all endings possibilities depth of thoughts and so on
but if you look for that you basically should discard 98% of the games that comes by DLsite which im sure most of you don't

from the point of view of who doesnt im telling you: the ONLY reason for me to play all this is H-scenes, but not just CGs, I think it's the situation that you can create that makes it exciting
so better story better excitement indeed
no H-scenes and... well, i'm back on PS3 or PS2 for what it matters, why should i even touch most of this games without the H-factor?

as for "just watch gallery" i disagree, h-manga, h-anime or any non interectional porn stuff on web is a lot better for that purpose
without controlling the pc till the h-scenes, gallery is just boring deconstual images

so let my try to explain with my horrible english if i may one more time
i like h-rpg having a story cause it gives a contest to h-scenes
i can get the general sense of what happens in and out h-scenes with translations tools so i'm fine with that
i'm just saying that GIVEN A CHOICE i'd rather to fully understand sexual psicological introspection during h-scenes while accepting a partial comprention, than having any other part of the game translated but not that

i got it, you can't easily find those parts, i got it, really, i was just talking hipotetical there

Yeah, it is wordplay; regardless of if the game has "multiple endings" or a "linear story" the end result is the same: you're going from A to B in order to fulfill some set of objectives to get to that end result.

By my logic you go through a few billion "Go From A to B" events over the course of your life, saying that "nothing happens in between" is...cheap. We don't play H-games just to see the ending, after all.

Certain games are better at handling the progression factor of the game, and it's entirely possible to do a linear game well and a multiple ending game poorly.

Like I know nothing of Japanese (beyond what I can imply from the Kanji) and there are games that made me invested despite the story, and there are games that made me go "y'know what I'm pretty sure I wouldn't care even if I knew what the story was".
So, y'know, presentation and all that.

I think we're all looking for the same thing though.
