When closing an eye, techically speaking, the things are still in 3D but the perception of those things are 2D. That's why my father who had an eye problem in one eye had trouble taking or putting things in relatively small containers because his depth perception was not there. When you have used 2 eyes for years it's easier to avoid this problem because you know the positions of things but someone who has lived years with a single eye will have difficulties.heres a trick you can try at home, cover one of your eyes(or if you are a multi-eyed elder being, all but one eye), see if everything around is flat or not.
