Risky to say dude! Best of luck but I hope you don't feel pressure to push something out. It's a public service, after all!Actually if nothing else serious pops up to eat up my time I theoretically could finish the translation this weekend. Of course this is all just a theory. Don't expect miracles.
Yes, the same trick that was consistently described yet sequentially forgotten in this thread works over two years still works. Don't ask me why people are so neglectful for the simple permanent fix.I haven't been back here in awhile, has there been any progress in getting the game to work consistently with Windows 8? Loved it on my old laptop with Win 7, and then I got a new one. Stupid Win 8...
Same thing happens with me. It can be played through, just a pain to have to keep clicking the ignore button. Hopefully it will be a quick N easy fix. On one hand though, it can make the heroine seem more bad-ass by deflecting 30+ bullets at a time.Wow...so yeah, went back and played the fly hunter stage and got some hella bugs. Pretty much every time I got shot, landed on the ground or turned to run near a downed hunter, I got an error popup. Also, there ended up being probably 40-50 hunters on the screen at a time...so yeah...it's hella bugged.
hmm im having some trouble copy the dmsynth.dll into the SYSWOW folder.Yes, the same trick that was consistently described yet sequentially forgotten in this thread works over two years still works. Don't ask me why people are so neglectful for the simple permanent fix.
The problem is with Windows 8's version of dmsynth.dll that causes all the crashing. It's basically a sound driver. To fix it for this and any other game that has this problem (i.e. Hotline Miami), there are some steps.
1) Download the Windows 7 dmsynth.dll from this guy's post.
2) Download "Take Ownership" fromYou must be registered to see the links
3) Install Take Ownership (really quick process), and navigate to System32 if you're on a 32-bit machine, or SYSWOW on a 64-bit one.
4) Make a copy of the current dmsynth.dll
5) Right click the current dmsynth.dll, hit take ownership, and then rename it.
6) Paste the Win 7 dmsynth.dll into the files.
That should fix any problem with any Win 8 sound driver problems on that machine until the files are somehow changed.
This is messing with the internal files that make your PC actually work, so be extra careful and do not mess with anything but dmsynth.dll for this.
Yeah you'd THINK that would be how it works, but it's way more convoluted and retarded than that. It's not even worth reading about, imo. Just be aware that there are "administrator" privileges, and then there are weird "DOUBLE ADMINISTRATOR: XTREME" privileges that supersede the normal admin privileges. Or something. There are superduperadmin privileges that are required to perform some actions that are capable of disabling your operating system? I don't even fucking remember lolhmm im having some trouble copy the dmsynth.dll into the SYSWOW folder.
i am admin on my computer and still i cant copy it into that folder

Point is, you have to download the thing he said you have to download. You can't just like... skip steps in a list of step-by-step directions.
Well I am about halfway done. Only the story remains. The in-game texts are done.Risky to say dude! Best of luck but I hope you don't feel pressure to push something out. It's a public service, after all!
Did you right click and take ownership and then rename the current dmsynth? Take Ownership is a registry hack that lets you change the permissions (ability to edit, essentially) of system files that are normally restricted for your protection. You don't strictly need something like this to edit those files, but it's otherwise a really long, convoluted process.hahaha
i know and i didnt skip a single step of that, im just now at the point where i need to copy the .dll file in the SYSWOW folder
This was discussed a couple pages back. Yes, he is. No, it probably won't be out any time in the next few days.
awesome, hope all goes wellActually if nothing else serious pops up to eat up my time I theoretically could finish the translation this weekend. Of course this is all just a theory. Don't expect miracles.

Ps.: sorry about the delay but I also have real life.
Open the details of the crash window - if "Fault Module name" shows "dmsynth.dll", then yes, it's "THAT problem".Hey guys I downloaded the latest update and when I start a new game, it instantly crashes during the load screen for the first battle (Exit pub to fight green bandits). APPcrash, is there a fix for this? Or is this the same audio problem 100 pages back?
