Couldn't they have just put the railway gun on tank treads? I highly doubt rails are any easier to move something that size on. The only disadvantage I can see is that on rails they'd have a pre-cleared area wide enough for it to fit... but at the same time you've GOT to have those rails if you want your giant ass weapon anywhere.
Yeah, limited places that this monster could move into.
Im not a gun nut but wouldnt something on tank threads with that long and heavy barrel needed to be huge as well? (for the stability, recoil)
I think it would get stuck on not solid terrain + an engine/s to move that monstrous pile of steel...

Well it depends on what kind of treads you're using and how many engines you have. Treads are often used for heavy machinery BECAUSE they can move large amounts of weight through many different types of terrain, about the only places you're not going to be able to chew your way to ground that the treads will move you on is a bog or sand pit (also silt, but that's a combo of the two). I've got some experience in heavy machinery operation, though certainly nothing even close to that size.
