Yes, as I am under the impression you haven't read up on the abilities I specifically mentioned in Mei Lings attack and defence roll. To expand, high base stats aren't everything. You wont beat Mei Ling, who can empower her rolls as needed, by simply trying to overwhelm her with high rolls and without a plan.

I did read the abilities. Force field makes a +5 to a roll and mind defense doubles it, right? Do you also get to roll on a force field? I just don't really understand how you got that high of a number.

Also, do you mind if I respec Cassandra? After combat of course.

And a list of how you got the numbers would be nice.

Edit: I just realized the tone of my phrasing sounds a bit rude. To claraphize, i'm not accusing you of fudging numbers.

Hmm. You're talking about this line right?

Mei Ling uses an intensified, telekinesis enhanced mental defence, for 34 total, half, aka 2 points are dealt as damage to Cassandra.

Force field wasn't used, and in either attack or defence actions you nearly always get your stat plus the basic 1d10 alongside whatever you boost it with. If attack/defence powers replaced the d10 roll, they'd rarely ever be worth using. If I understand correctly the example in question flows like this...

Mental stat of 14 + Base Defence Roll of 1d10 + Rank 5 Telekinesis bonus of 1d10
Using Intensify on that...

Intensify: 4 points/rank
Treat all numeric variables of your attack or defence as the highest possible roll (including additional dices from special attacks, etc). All damage you deal while using intensify is halfed (rounded up). If you used intensify with an ability that recharges, It recharges one round faster than normal. At rank 5 of Intensify you additionally recover 1 Stamina whenever you use intensify. At rank 6 you recover 2 stamina

Means it becomes a flat 14+10+10=34.

Although on the side, I did notice a small thing. Shouldn't the 2 damage bounced back be halved to become 1 damage, due to intensify?

Ah, derp. For some reason I thought the incoming attack was 32. Don't know where I got that idea.

According to the exact text as is right now... seemingly not, but I'm pretty sure it's intended to be limited to one use per rank. Else it would be absurdly powerful for sustained defence, and there'd be no point in having additional ranks of it, spare the stamina feature right at the end. Mei-Ling has two ranks in it, which inclines me to assume this is correct.

I don't think I spent too many points... Lemme calculate it out, and that way if I went wrong you'll see where.

Hero starts off with 20
Gain 3 from Inexperienced x3 so it goes to 23
Gain 3 from Fetish x3 so it goes to 26

So I have 26 points...

Defense Mastery x3 (Each rank costs 1 point) so subtract 3

23 left

Heroic Determination x1 (Each rank costs 3 points since I picked the 3 point version) so subtract another 3

20 left

Overcharge x3 (2 points/rank) so subtract 6

14 left

Mastered Attack x2 (1 point/rank since I picked the 1 point version) so subtract 2

12 left

Super Speed x1 (2 points/rank) so subtract another 2

10 left

Damage Resistance (Physical) x1 (1 point/rank since that's the 1 point version) so subtract 1

9 left

Pet x3 (2 points/rank) so subtract 6

3 left

Special attack with damage and one ability but also one drawback (which costs 3 points since it evens out to 1 special attack purchase) so subtract 3

0 left.

I believe that's correct.

Also, I have left over points for her pet? I bought 3 ranks of pet, which means 30 points...

his stats are 13, 9, 4, 4

13 + 9 + 4 + 4 = 30.

Unless I missed something with the pet I believe this is correct.

Heh, is more like I triple checked my math... then got super doubtful when you said I spent too much and checked it 3 more times...

Alright, I'll give a read to this stuff after my work weekend. Is tough cause my mind is super linear, so it tries to find the story thread even in large multi-person/ multi-thread RPs... Bu I'm sure I'll figure it out.

My mind is like "Blaarggghhh, where's the beginning! How to follow story?!" I think that's what made me take longer to figure this RP out.
